You got me into ROC mining; it was hard to get the Loop efficient and safe but I now live out of my 890jump > hop in my Nomad > run the ROC and just deposit everything into the 890jump's massive (450SCU) ship inventory. This made me think of if you put a crew together we could all run out of an 890jump; multiple transport ships warp on the 890 and multiple players just run ROCs all over a moon and create a treasure galleon. Think of the stream brah...think of the stream! Sipping martinis from the 890j's bar/grille, chilling in the spa, hopping down to the planet surface for a cave run on some Janalite LOL. Treasure Galleon.
Loved the video! This patch has brought me into the mining profession for the first time and I love it. Only issue is the explosions disabling ROC bug, but once that's gone im going full ROC mode!
Try changing your Windows mouse settings to scroll one line at a time instead of the default 3-5 lines at a time. Changing this setting made laser control much easier for me. Your mileage may vary, but I hope some find this helpful. See you in the Verse. o7
Went ROC mining on Magda yesterday, took awhile to find any Hadanite but after a few hours made $200K. Today I had bad luck with server crashes, bed logging not working properly so it took awhile to get going. But once I finally got to Magda, every node I went to was Hadanite, and large batches as well. I again only mined for a few hours but made $325 today. :D
Hey starr, love the vids and streams! The HUD of the ROC is bugged 90% of the time and the left side you referred to as the optimax is actually meant to be a distance optimal gauge, it bugs out and smushes it all together and you end up with optimax! I keep forgetting to take before and after screenshots and logging a issue with the council
I will absolutely try this in the new patch, once I get it updated. I'm not a PvP-er, so I do mining or delivery missions. I've been having a hard time trying to figure out how to mine these massive rocks and get the vehicle to do so. With this in mind, I will surely be able to make some money, after I rent a ship and mining vehicle. I greatly appreciate you in advance, cheers!
You are the best, hands down. I just cleared 500k on my first ever mining run. I bet I could have cleared a million if I didn't roll the roc on a pile of rubble. Stacks of hadenite were just throwing themselves at me.
Anyone else having problems of GEMS not showing the correct amounts in ROC inventory after mining them, I am having these issues since 3.19 PTU and also in live 3.19, mined 20 rocks today and only showed 36 gems in box when it should show 600. Just curious if anyone else is having these same issues?
I was on a moon last night finally found the gem icons on surface and my roc wouldn't scan and I didn't know what ore they were it took me an embarrassing amount of time to finally rent a roc and black cutty.
This video is just what i wanted. Keeping to the subject and not taking to long with introduction and explenation. Straight up showing how you go from A to B👍
its worth noting with the new cluster sizes and mining hardness, aphorite carries a LOT more value than it did in the pervious patches, along with the ability to easily load cargo into your ships, it makes these clusters almost worth as much as hadanite clusters in terms of how long it takes to find and grab it
Can anyone tell me why my Roc Mining arm is running off my track IR 5 all of a sudden, hasnt happened the last few patches. Tried gimbal on/off, as well as the head tracking disable. Turning gimbal off just makes the arm un movable, as well as the disable head tracking key.
I am still learning, a few times I have gone in the red ever so slightly and when it blew up my roc was disabled. But I am not sure if it was just overheating or it was actually disabled. How can I check this? Thanks for the video
I didn't know that about the OM1 marker. It's awesome that it represents the North Pole, but why is that more daylight than the equator? Is that some weird game feature?
I think hadanite rocks need cracking in some kind of order, if a rock isn't taking charge move to another then come back to it later, I put it down to lag at first but now I can clear a decent sized patch in minutes, just go 100% intensity straight away, if it starts charging fast turn the laser off close to optimal then back on and give it low power to cook the rock, if it's not taking charge or going up very slowly don't waste time on it and go try another rock, more or less the only time I move the ROC now is to position rocks on the left side of the hud so the laser doesn't block the important info, very rarely I'll find a rock that you need to go around the other side or change angle for it to start taking charge Biggest issues I have now are occasionally rocks that are fully cooked but won't crack, they just stay glowing for 5-10 mins and even had to leave 5 or 6 a few nights ago, extraction mode seems a bit hit and miss, sometimes turning mining mode off & on fixes it, other times I need to fully power down the ROC then start it back up again, could be placebo effect though and it's all down to lag but picking up gems is the slowest part of the process for me
@@SteveFisher0571 I also believe they now have to be done in a certain order which is just plain silly. I've also run into the issue with cooked Had not exploding...very irritating
I've found if I hit rock with laser for 3-5 seconds before raising power it works most of the time. I think this is all of us grasping at straws too. Shits just not working
Then as I was close to space station about to dock to sell half a load I got 30k'ed and game logged me out. Then as I log in and my rentals had 1 hour left I am hit with a 11min timer to claim ship since it must have somehow got destroyed. Then all my hadanite was on my roc stored in my ship so after 11min I have to still fly down to the moon to get my roc with my hadanite in it. So I fly down to the moon to get the roc which also had a time limit to get it back. Finally got the roc back and check the back to make sure hadanite was still there , nope all gone. So I proceeded to log off in frustration. That's my story on first time trying to roc mine on new update.

Amazing video and guide Starrstreams. Good to see you back in the valk, even if you did rip the wing off 😂😁

Good Video
Oh man I just found on aberdeen there are clusters of hadanites with 16 rocks as average per spawn, this 3.19 patch is really good for gem mining.
Great info & would like try it!!!
Thank you. I learned a lot and will now try for myself.
Thanks. tried roc mining tonight before watching a video and did not have success. this really helps.
Also, getting a dns error on your site
The websites down at the moment for updates. Glad to have helped! ROC mining is my fav thing to do in SC

Yep
Clear, concise, detailed, and entertaining. Literally could not ask for better content!!!

Great Video but how do I know it’s harantie from the ship?
Hadanite = purple / pink veins in the rock itself

4.45m in game

OOO not seen that bug before :(
Very well done.
Hey Starr, anyway to recover cargo faster from the back of ROC when you get carried away with the laser and brick said ROC?
Shoot the ROC with the ship to create a box with your gems inside then move box to ship and transfer gems
Cool thanks for the tutorial

Does the ROC take damage over time? Is that why you you repaired it?
Yes that’s correct

I keep getting rocks that will not charge. Even at 100% laser power. Completely kills my ROC runs and $/hr. Anyone else have this issue or know a fix?
Server lag in 3.19. Try hitting it from a different angle or move onto another node and let it catch up maybe
Yeah this is driving me crazy. Takes much longer to clear a good patch of gems out
