Dont know if you guys gives a shit but if you are bored like me atm then you can stream all the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last months xD
I have a 17 ESV and love it. 18 Navigator may have more bells & whistles but the Escalade is a head turner. As to the mileage - I have a heavy foot and 17 mpg is the magic number. I have no clue where his 13 mpg came from.
We don't calculate by miles per gallon in Canada, it was 13 litres per 100km, I'm sure we said that when we mentioned the fuel economy. You'll never hear us use the term MPG in anything we do.
That's always the way it is, Cadillac is going to pull apart the 2018 Navigator and make changes to the Escalade in a couple years, then Lincoln will do the same.
Thank you for watching! It definitely does have the right fit for me, but we're looking forward to try some of the other full-size SUVs to see how they really compare.
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator just set a new benchmark in this segment, they can't keep up the orders being placed!! The innovations & interior are light years ahead of anything on the road today, ALEXA on-board! Thats crazy!
No doubt, the Navigator looks absolutely phenomenal, and from a feature and luxury perspective it destroys the Escalade. The problem is, the name doesn't carry the same weight as the Cadillac does, at least here in North America. People are still going to be buying the Escalade no matter what. Not that it's a very scientific study, but we see a handful of new Escalades each time we're in Montreal, but the only Navigators are platted as limos at the airport. Granted those are all the previous generation, but I think Lincoln has a real shot here to eat into sales of the Escalade.
2018 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR BLACK LABEL TOOK ITS THROWN BACK. MORE POWER, LUXURIOUS MATERIALS, DOOR TO DOOR SERVICE, AND MORE ROOM...I REPEAT MORE ROOM ADULTS IN 2ND AND 3RD ROW.
We took a peek at the Navigator today, we have it booked in a few weeks but it was parked next to the Expedition. The interior certainly looks nice, but the rear end isn't our thing.
Denali is still GM pile of problems it's a shame a company on the verge of bankruptcy is still unleashing expensive piles of crap the CEO of GM should be fired and or jailed for charging too much for it's unreliable cars and trucks GM is lucky it still is open based on their products not for much longer
Scott Ratliff that’s funny because even GM’s Yukon Denali has a better build quality than the 2018 Lincoln Navigator! Lol. Check TFL car mashup of them both w/ the Dodge Durango. You people just be talking out of your asses!! 😂
Yes, and as we’ve replied in other comments, and we talked about in the video itself, it isn’t undisputed because it’s the best, but because people continue buying this despite better options from the competition. The Escalade is still king for sales.
Perpetual Radio Networks my apologies. I posted that comment before reaching that part of the video. In retrospect, I should have deleted it. I did think that it was a good video though! Keep it up!
Perpetual Radio Networks I’ll have to keep an eye out for when you do! Even though I’ve seen many videos covering all of its features (even the one from Doug DeMuro, so you know I mean ALL the features), I still look for more.
That's how we are too with cars, we just can't get enough content on something we're really interested in. We're hoping to be able to do something unique with the Navigator since we know it's been heavily covered already, most of the press got a good look at it a few months ago.
Reliable enough for a top-end luxury vehicle. The problem with these isn't so much the reliability, but how poorly they get maintained. After the original lessee gives it back it'll get passed around, each new owner will put less money into them to the point that they're more work than they're worth. Try to find one that's 1 owner with all the service history.
The Lincoln Navigator Surpasses this suv in everyway, First the Lincoln is a 450hp twin turbo V-6, keep in mind that this Cadillac is a V-8 with 405hp, plus the lincolns interior is a wow factor, this suv that is shown is very outdated and looks very out of style. To me Cadillac needs to step it up because Lincoln has left them in the dust. For the record it is not worth the price.
We don't doubt that. We have the Lincoln Navigator booked for May 7th, so we're expecting to have our coverage on it commence a couple weeks after. If the Navigator we have ends up being a short wheelbase, we will produce a Showdown episode between it and the Escalade.
Bobby Sharpe Sr. The Cadillac outsells the Lincoln Navigator everyday of the week. I sell cars so I can tell you the public doesn’t share your sentiment.
i bought a platinum brand new and it is really quite amazing, I cant believe I roll around in this and I have my 26 inch spiner dubs on it too without modifying the suspension.
The Escalade uses GM’s magnetic suspension, it does ride smooth compared to a truck, considering the platforms are essentially the same. Unfortunately we haven’t driven previous generations of the Escalade to compare with.
It’s a Cadillac. Need I say more, jealousy is a strange trait. I live near Beverly Hills and it seems a lot of streets there, are commercials for Cadillac.
There's something about this SUV. We weren't blown away with the interior, and the few issues we had with it could be serious, but we'd still get one, in black though. You notice an Escalade on the road!
Beautiful vehicle and I can't wait to see a head to head with the escalade and navigator! I do however like the looks of the Lincoln Navigator inside and out a little better, but that's just my opinion, though I've never owned a Lincoln, but Cadillac I have.
On smaller vehicles sold today I can't think of any. Even station wagons don't do it anymore, back 20-30 years ago not only might they open independently, some even worked like a normal side window and rolled down.
The 2018 Navigator will only retain its newfound "King of the Hill" status until a new Escalade debuts within the next year or so. Just as the current Escalade was lightyears ahead of the previous Navigator, I would fully expect the new Escalade to leapfrog the current Navigator---Escalade dominates for a reason.
That's definitely a good point. This Escalade launched in 2015 I believe, so it's a few years behind now, but that's always the way when new vehicles hit the market.
We're really hoping to get the chance to! We've recently gotten the green light from Ford Canada to feature their vehicles, but as far as we can tell the Navigator hasn't made it's way onto the press fleet out here. Likely during the summer we'll get it booked in and put it to the test!
I have had two Lincoln’s. Both great up to 80,000 miles. After 80k miles get rid of them as fast as you can. My Yukon’s are like the everready bunny, they keep on going and going and going. I will stick with General Motors for this kind of investment. Ford trucks have always been good but the new motors, we will have to see.
Yes, and we've replied to many comments that say the same thing. If you read our reply to the pinned comment, we state the Escalade is not the undisputed champion because it's the best, in fact it is far to be the best, but rather it dominates sales simply due to it's name. We do hope to feature the Navigator once it arrives on the press fleet out here.
As soon as GM adds one to their fleet. Unfortunately there isn't one on the winter fleet, so we'll have to wait until April at the very earliest before we find out when they'll add it. We'd prefer to wait to get a press car for a week than rush a video with a local dealership's car.
We all have our opinions on which one looks better, but one thing that cannot be argued is that historically the Escalade has proven to be a higher quality vehicle, with better reliability and resale value.
Blu ray discs have something like 192 kHz of audio quality (might be more than that actually but either way that's excellent, about 4-5 times the bit rate of any mobile content, that includes CD's which are the 2nd best for mobile content at 48kHz) and the escalade has tinted acoustically laminated glass all around with sun shades i believe couple that with a superb bose sound system and Bluray disc interface allowing for you to choose within the disc menu between 5.1 dolby digital to all the way as high as DTS's near lossless trueHD 7.1 format or just good ol' 7.1 direct. What's my point? The Cadillac Escalade has a home theater option. Remove/tumble the middle row seats sit in the third row middle and watch some blu ray in the DVD player with the audio settings in the disc menu set to 7.1 of some sort I imagine anyone would be surprised to learn how good of a movie watching experience they have.
No sun shades on the Escalade, a feature we were thoroughly disappointed about considering the MSRP of this vehicle. Aside from that though we found the Cadillac CT6's BluRay system to work significantly better than it did on this.
We're hoping to find out on Monday if/when the Navigator will make it's way to the Montreal press fleet, then we'll hopefully get it booked as soon as we can!
I'm looking to buy an Escalade, but not the Platinum version. i am getting the version right under the Platinum version. I'm paying around $80-85k for it. with the Platinum version what am i set to be missing? like i don't need the monitors that comes with the Platinum version. as long as i do have the center wall mounted ones. i hope i do have all the features you have in this Platinum one. what is the version that is right under the Platinum called?
Here in Canada at least the trim below Platinum would be Premium Luxury. The features you'd lose out on would be the more premium leather seating, leather dashboard and door panels, a different chrome front grille, the power side steps, suede headliner, the front beverage cooler, and the rear monitors. It does appear the Premium Luxury would still include the centre roof-mounted BluRay player. Hope that helps!
110k CAD is almost cheap, because in italy this car cost the equivalent of 170k CAD, yes is sold here but i never see an escalade on the road, just some few hummer h2.
probably not, the reason is another, MSRP for the platinium trim, in euro, USD or CAD is almost the same, from 98 USD to 108 (with much higher vat than US) EUR to 110 CAD, but the currency exchange is different, seems like manufacturers dont care about value exchange fluctuation and the use their own ratio between different currencies, looks like they use 1:1 for EUR:USD and 1.1:1.0 for CAD:USD
Perpetual Radio Networks yes definately, i do not know how much it all costs. He uses a small van for his work during the week, an expensive hobby.....
They keep selling them! A lot of commenters point out it's lacking a lot of features, but at the end of the day the Escalade is still selling like crazy in comparison to the competition.
There's no doubt about it! But when we called up our local Lexus dealership to see if we could film an episode of TestDrive Showdown with a 2017/2018 LX 570 they said they almost never sell them, whereas the Cadillac dealerships here usually have a dozen of these in stock. The Cadillac isn't the best full-size luxury SUV on the planet, but it certainly sells the most here in North America.
@@PRNTestDrive Sorry if I came out as a jackass. There's just something special about driving a fully loaded platinum Escalade compared to the navigator. It's more of an emotional choice for many people.
No need to apologize, I agree with you. We ended up filming the Navigator about 6 months after this, and while it's a nice SUV and offers some extra goodies, the Escalade was still the king in our books. Even when I spot the two on the street, I just respect the Cadillac more.
We're definitely hoping to! We did get a glimpse of it at the Auto Show a few weeks ago, but we're going to see when it will be made available to the press out here. I imagine it's going to be booked up, but we'll try to get it in the summer.
Here’s the thing, I rmeber back in the mid 2000s when the only good SUV’s were the Escalade and the navigator. And Escalade beat the rivalry then which cause Cadillac to be sleeping for the past couple of years. I feel like Cadillac gonna start doing good now tho
We're going to find out! We've got the Navigator booked for the end of this month, we'll be featuring it in depth and filming a Showdown episode between these two to see really how they compare. The Escalade will have some homework to due, but it's also been the same generation since 2015 whereas the Navigator is new for this year.
With a 10 speed gearbox... 420 hp and 460lb/ft of linear N/A goodness.. I bet if one were to de-restrict the top speed limiter on this thing it'd be able to go 160mph
We agree. We drove the Navigator during the spring and wasn't overly impressed. If it came down to it, we'd take this without a second thought over the Lincoln.
We featured the 2018 Navigator recently: ruclips.net/video/zdAYJw7xl60/видео.html. There's significantly less interest in the Lincoln so far compared with this Escalade, we had at least 3x the views on the Escalade after the same amount of time the Navigator has been published.
This Escalade is not the undisputed champion because it’s the best. In fact we discuss throughout the video how the interior quality didn’t feel as good as other vehicles in the luxury category, and how competition from the growing competitors in this segment is fierce. This vehicle is the champion because people continue buying the Escalade despite all the other full-size SUVs available in this segment.
Well, so basically Escalade is undisputed champion not because of its design/quality, overall competitiveness but because of its name? Then why need you to review this car?
That's exactly it, people continue buying the car for it's name and image, just like the Mercedes G-Class has an image associated with it, the Escalade does too. People often by it to show off, not because they want the best vehicle, or they'll overlook a lot of the issues.
Perpetual Radio Networks ,No,Escalade is for rich, G class is for super rich. There are almost no competitors for G class, especially Its AMG G class, But for escapade there are many. I respect your right to voice your opinion but I just highly doubt it .
We didn’t praise the Escalade, and it’s not our opinion that it’s good. We mentioned several times throughout this episode that many elements of it were poor quality or didn’t feel luxurious. It isn’t us who thinks the sales are #1, it’s the sales themselves. We see no Navigators on the road here, but new Escalades all the time. They’re killing it in sales, despite much better offerings from the competition.
@Perpetual Radio Networks My aunt has a current-generation Escalade like this. Click on the playlist here (ruclips.net/p/PLiMHOAwkMoN5PdpbvOWzI-2Iz8iWrWm0n ) to see me drive it.
We had hoped to get the ESV for the Escalade but there was a mixup when we picked it up. We're hoping to get the chance to try the long wheelbase version down the road.
Expensive and probably not entirely reliable for water insulation. I noticed on this Escalade that the seal around the wiper assembly looked a little weak, I can see in a decade the 3rd or 4th owner might start to have some leaking issues.
let see how much of this Navigator cues and tech GM are going to copy like they did with the head lights from Mercury, the power running boards from "yes the Navigator" and the power third row seats and also the power tail gate. All copied by GM to build up their marmalade. Ford and Chrysler leads America in style and tech, GM sits back and copy to capitalize in sales.
Everyone's stealing from everyone else. I always talk about how BMW and Mercedes started with radar cruise control back in the late 90s, and it took almost 15 years for the economy cars like Kia to offer that technology, but we look at things like lane keep assist, it's a relatively new technology that got copied by everyone else much faster.
Just shut up. Tell me the fastest American car being made. OH it’s the corvette. GM owns American roads and ford just puts the same v6 in every car they make.
What y’all think the navigator can make a come back. The Escalade has been killing it for years. The navigator comes back for one year and y’all think it’s killing it. Wait for the new Escalade.
We've got the Navigator booked for the 7th of May! We took a quick look at it on Monday just to see how it compares with the Expedition, there's certainly huge improvements between those two. Our hope is to have the Escalade again that week to do a proper Showdown on these two SUVs.
We haven't driven the GMC version of this car, nor the Chevrolet, but we've heard from a number of people who have that the seating is more comfortable on the Chevy version.
I could not see paying that much money for a vehicle and I notice that both the Cadilac, and the Lincoln commercials was made in Canada during the Winter. The seats on the 3rd row in this vehicle is not as nice as those in the Lincoln. After seeing both commercials I would choose the Lincoln if I was looking for a luxury vehicle, and American made.
There's no doubt the centre and rear seats on this are terrible, I'm truly surprised they put no effort into the back seat of this vehicle especially at this price point.
Those first years where it literally was just a badge were pretty funny, but it's definitely grown a lot since then. It really feels great being behind the wheel of this car, everyone notices.
We're excited to try the 2021 Escalade. The interiors on their new vehicle look good, but they're more of an improvement over the design found on this 2018 than a complete reworking.
About that I believe, probably a bit less since the cars in the US are sometimes cheaper than the exchange rate, especially when it's like the Escalade and built in the US.
That's one of the things we found too, the interior does feel cheaper than it should. Also feature are light, we drove the 2018 CT6 right after this and found the interior and options to be way better, and also cost $7k less. Sure, it's not an SUV, but still part of that full-size luxury image.
Perpetual Radio Networks Agree 100%. Ofxourse I was blown away by Cadillac at first because at the time it was best suv out there in its class. But I was really disappointed how it drove like a truck not smooth and with 22 wheels I felt every bump on the road. The Lincoln just head and shoulders above ESCALADE and cheaper price tag. The way it welcomes you to vehicle and Lincoln sign on ground and those damn seats with massage just got me hooked. I definitely won’t look back and miss Cadillac
We're definitely hoping to be able to feature the Navigator. Next time we go to the Ford media place I'll ask about it, should be picking up a car there in a few weeks so I should have the chance.
We did one. You can watch the 2018 here: ruclips.net/video/zdAYJw7xl60/видео.html And a Showdown with a 2024 here: ruclips.net/video/lOTlYOfXg-Q/видео.html
Looking at about $74,000 - $76,000 CAD depending on mileage for a 2018 Platinum short wheelbase according to what's available on AutoTrader.ca as of this comment.
Scroll through, you'll find tonnes of them. We actually featured the Navigator a few weeks ago, and we had very few people watch in comparison. ruclips.net/video/zdAYJw7xl60/видео.html
David GT Cadillac did a refresh on all their cars starting 2015. That includes better chassis, technology, etc.... Therefore, I wouldn’t be surprised if they have made little changes within 3-4 years. When they decide on doing another refresh for the Escalade we will definitely see an even better design. Plus they have no reason to rush, apart from Lincoln? I do not think there are suvs as big as they are.
Most cars don't get major overhauls every year, most of the time they're carryover models with few differences much like the Escalade would have seen over those years.
I imagine the next generation Escalade will get a push-button transmission, as long as it's not the dinky BMW-knock-off shifter they used on the XT4 & XT5.
You mean you can only afford a Lincoln . There is a price difference let’s be honest Cadillac has always been more expensive. It’s really about how deep your pockets are can’t get a Escalade get a Yukon and say you like Yukon’s better like people been doing for years .
No one is putting lumber in the back.. yet. Wait until these things are 10 years old on their 3rd or 4th owner, these will look really beaten by then just like older Escalades. It's unfortunate, but it's the reality.
The title isn’t meant to reflect how good the Escalade is, because it isn’t the best, it’s undisputed because people continue buying it despite there being much better options out there.
Hey, the only reason I like the Escalade better is because it looks better, sounds better and drives better. But the interior on the navigator is nicer.
They have to work in the interior design of the seats. This car is only good for 4 people because the 3rd roll seats are dumb. With that step up from the second row, it’s almost at the same level as the floor. When you sit in the 3rd roll, your knees are practically in my face. Even for a kid that would not be comfortable. I cannot imagine sitting there for more than 10 minutes. I’m so disappointed with with it. I went to test drive it today and was ready to get one, but that 3rd row was a deal breaker. Nice drive though.
The third rows on most of these SUVs aren't great. The Lincoln Navigator was the same. We're wrapping up a week with the GMC Acadia Denali, I was able to fit in the third row, but I don't think I'd want to be back there for an extended period of time.
lol DVD come on Cadillac in this day and age where streaming is the new black you gotta make your screens cast compatible. can easily download movies off hulu or netflix and cast it to the screen instead of this DVD crap!!! nice vehicle though warming up to it!
The Lincoln Navigator we featured was like that, no disc media was available for the rear entertainment system. We had to make sure the USB drive we used was formatted properly and we used a video format that was compatible with the system.
I see all these guys reviewing their big new SUV's, so what's it like for the wife to drive? how does the Mrs. like it compared to say her 4runner or smaller suv?
That's certainly a valid point. We'd love nothing more than to have a female perspective on this show to talk about their likes and dislikes about some of these vehicles. Everyone has a different experience with them, and we're only able to show one side of it.
Thanks for the video. I traded the boring 2021 Lexus GX 460 for a 2018 Cadillac Escalade Luxury. The Escalade rides much better. And, yes I purchased an extended warranty! LOL!
Good choice! There's nothing quite like the feeling of an Escalade. I've had the pleasure to drive a few recently including the 2021. Superb ride on any of them!
cylinder deactivation V4? more probably an L4, is not possible turn off half bank but is possible turn off 1 entire bank p.s. who doesn't need a cadillac escalade for buy SOME eggs? lol
The gauge cluster does show as a V4, but they might display that for the average consumer. The CT6 we had also dropped down from a V6 to display as a V4
I think it's possible to turn off entire bank or half bank. At least on Hondas, their V6 vcm can deactivate either 2 or 3 cylinders making it either I3 or V4 configuration
I believe GM also is using a new method to get vehicles down to 1 cylinder, but I apologize if it wasn't them. I remember watching a video from the Detroit Auto show talking about pickup trucks, and I think it's the new Silverado that can deactivate all the way down to 1.
We're hoping GM is going to ditch that for the next generation. We're not huge fans of button-based gear selection, but it beats a truck-style column shifter in a vehicle like the Escalade.
I agree perhaps a rotary shifter would look best on it. Column shifters just remind me of vehicles of the 90s and earlier. I'm just suprised GM would still put one in their vehicle especially on a top of the line SUV like the Escalade.
A year ago everyone praised the Escalade as better than the mediocre piss poor excuse of the outgoing navigator and now everyone’s an advocate for Lincoln. 🙄🙄
It's always the way when competing generations get updated midway through the other's cycle. This Escalade came out in 2015, and made the 2015 Navigator look like trash, now it's reversed, and I'm sure the next generation Escalade will be blowing the Navigator out of the water.
Obviously this guy don't realize the escalates has been dethroned Navigator has a 6 cylinder that has more power then a Escalade 8 cylinder and more room
We’ve replied to this type of comment a dozen times now. Please see our reply to the pinned comment about our naming of this episode. The Escalade isn’t the champion because it’s the best, but because people buy it more than the rest.

@Alberto Lucca yea, I've been using instaflixxer for since november myself =)
Hey
I have a 17 ESV and love it. 18 Navigator may have more bells & whistles but the Escalade is a head turner. As to the mileage - I have a heavy foot and 17 mpg is the magic number. I have no clue where his 13 mpg came from.

Bruh i love Cadillac but i hope they felt the heat of the Navigator and hopefully will step up big time on the next generation Escalade.
That's always the way it is, Cadillac is going to pull apart the 2018 Navigator and make changes to the Escalade in a couple years, then Lincoln will do the same.
Ylber Ilazi all GM need to do is have the panaromic sun roof.....and they take back the top spot on large SUV segment.
Agreed
What a great review as Iam looking to own one soon thanks alot
Hope it helped!
Out of all vehicles I've seen you in, you look the most comfortable in this vehicle. Width wise & headroom. Thanks for all the reviews you do.
Thank you for watching! It definitely does have the right fit for me, but we're looking forward to try some of the other full-size SUVs to see how they really compare.
KittvsKarr it don't have the Headroom of a navigator check it out
My dream machine! 😍😍😍
Wait until you see the Cadillac CT6 we're featuring next week!
best reviewer, keep doing your good stuff man.
Thanks, we appreciate that! We've got lots of great content planned.
I have a 2017 that I just got last month and she's a head turning rig
Glad to hear it, enjoy your Escalade!
The 2018 Lincoln Navigator just set a new benchmark in this segment, they can't keep up the orders being placed!! The innovations & interior are light years ahead of anything on the road today, ALEXA on-board! Thats crazy!

MERCEDES SUVS ARE UGLY NARROW GARBAGE. CANT COMPARE A GL TO A NAVIGATOR OR ESCALADE IN TERMS OF SIZE, RIDE, AND ROOM. GTFOH.. LOL
yeah but Lexus suvs look hella sexy AND they can off-road like no other
I love my echos they are SOOO useful
2018 LINCOLN NAVIGATOR BLACK LABEL TOOK ITS THROWN BACK. MORE POWER, LUXURIOUS MATERIALS, DOOR TO DOOR SERVICE, AND MORE ROOM...I REPEAT MORE ROOM ADULTS IN 2ND AND 3RD ROW.
We don't doubt that, we're hoping to get the Navigator booked to feature on TestDrive later into spring!
Throne you mean...
The Navigator looks like a minivan. The interior is nice but I didn’t see anything so special about it. I’d take a Denali over both of them.
Undisputed? I’ve seen a lot of video sos where people are saying that the new Navigator knocks this thing out of the park.
Keep it up!
No worries! We've had a lot of comments about it, but we're definitely looking forward to get the Navigator featured here!
Perpetual Radio Networks I’ll have to keep an eye out for when you do! Even though I’ve seen many videos covering all of its features (even the one from Doug DeMuro, so you know I mean ALL the features), I still look for more.

i love the presentation
We appreciate that, thanks! We’re always working to improve the way we present and edit this show to make it better every week.
Perpetual Radio Networks I will make sure I follow all your presentations
Glad to hear it, we're appreciative of each subscriber we gain!
I love the fact that Cadillac has there fame cornering lamps....so Cadillac so luxurious
It's certainly a unique design, and helps to make their vehicles stand out at night.
I wonder why they sale more Cadillac Escalades?
My 2011 Yukon with the 5.3L gave 27mpg on a road trip from Canada to Atlanta. GM full size SUV's are king...
Can't go wrong with a highway cruise with one of these big SUVs!
First year of a new model always has issues so always get them after the mid cycle refresh
is it reliable? 17, 18, or 19?
The Cadillac has 420 horsepower
i bought a platinum brand new and it is really quite amazing, I cant believe I roll around in this and I have my 26 inch spiner dubs on it too without modifying the suspension.
Nice!
Weird, I just found 110,000 dollars in the seat cushion of my car and now going out to purchase one of these SUV’s
That's the best thing to find in your seat cushion!
Did they add the Hydraulic air shocks on the 2018.Does it ride bumpy or luxury like the older body style.
The Escalade uses GM’s magnetic suspension, it does ride smooth compared to a truck, considering the platforms are essentially the same. Unfortunately we haven’t driven previous generations of the Escalade to compare with.
Thanks
It’s a Cadillac. Need I say more, jealousy is a strange trait. I live near Beverly Hills and it seems a lot of streets there, are commercials for Cadillac.
There's something about this SUV. We weren't blown away with the interior, and the few issues we had with it could be serious, but we'd still get one, in black though. You notice an Escalade on the road!
Lincoln Navigator ... More power ... more torque ... more elegance ... more space ... more driving modes ... more & more
There's certainly a lot with the Navigator, we're hoping to be able to feature it soon!
Not really true..Better look again.
I'm fixin to buy a 2018 Escalade Platinum with 23,000 miles. $47,000.
Curious to any info on reliability, performance, etc?
Any info appreciated!
Seems a bit high on price, sure it's lower mileage but it's the previous generation and prices typically come down more than that.
@@PRNTestDrive didn't the model change in 2021? Hard to find a used Escalade with under 25k miles for under $50k
Beautiful vehicle and I can't wait to see a head to head with the escalade and navigator! I do however like the looks of the Lincoln Navigator inside and out a little better, but that's just my opinion, though I've never owned a Lincoln, but Cadillac I have.
We’d definitely love to do a Showdown on those two. We’re really hoping to make it happen!
How many years for a opening back hatch on a smaller Suv? My 2013 Grand Cherokee has it. Last year for it.
On smaller vehicles sold today I can't think of any. Even station wagons don't do it anymore, back 20-30 years ago not only might they open independently, some even worked like a normal side window and rolled down.
That column shift is inexcusable, Jesus Christ..
I really don't know why they have it, considering how much room there is between the two front occupants to fit a regular shifter.
I'll keep my colum shifter thank you. Keep the floor shifters in a car and out of my truck.
Can you review to new 2018 Lincoln Navigator? That's the new king.
We're really hoping to get the chance to! We've recently gotten the green light from Ford Canada to feature their vehicles, but as far as we can tell the Navigator hasn't made it's way onto the press fleet out here. Likely during the summer we'll get it booked in and put it to the test!
Looking forward to it!
I do agree with you on that
I have had two Lincoln’s. Both great up to 80,000 miles. After 80k miles get rid of them as fast as you can. My Yukon’s are like the everready bunny, they keep on going and going and going. I will stick with General Motors for this kind of investment. Ford trucks have always been good but the new motors, we will have to see.
That seems to be the way with most luxury vehicles anyway, you want to dump them once the warranty runs out.
What is the difference between 2018 vs 2019 vs 2020?
Not a whole lot between those model years, really just paint colours were added/removed and the Sport package added as an option in 2019.
An epic of an American luxury.... nice y'all ✌
We'll be publishing the episode on the 2018 Cadillac CT6 Platinum next week, that one's even more luxurious, we're really excited to get it out there!
Um.Navigator?
Yes, and we've replied to many comments that say the same thing. If you read our reply to the pinned comment, we state the Escalade is not the undisputed champion because it's the best, in fact it is far to be the best, but rather it dominates sales simply due to it's name. We do hope to feature the Navigator once it arrives on the press fleet out here.
When will you review the 2019 Escalade
As soon as GM adds one to their fleet. Unfortunately there isn't one on the winter fleet, so we'll have to wait until April at the very earliest before we find out when they'll add it. We'd prefer to wait to get a press car for a week than rush a video with a local dealership's car.
@@PRNTestDrive Thanks
We all have our opinions on which one looks better, but one thing that cannot be argued is that historically the Escalade has proven to be a higher quality vehicle, with better reliability and resale value.
It definitely has the sales volume going for it. It continues to be the go-to option for people looking for a status vehicle.
Good presentation. Good job.
We certainly appreciate that, thanks!
When would you test drive gl450 benz?
As soon as Mercedes gives us one to feature!
Good job as always.
Glad you liked it, thanks!
Still When you get a chance do a Lincoln Navigator Review
We're hoping to find out on Monday if/when the Navigator will make it's way to the Montreal press fleet, then we'll hopefully get it booked as soon as we can!
Hey thank you for the reply. I will Subscribe to your channel. You do good reviews on car. Good job
We appreciate that, thanks!
Hope that helps!
yes it does thank you so much. that's a big difference lol. i just might have to get the Platinum version. i mean after all we live once right ;)
Very true! Go big or go home!
great review
Thanks, we appreciate that!
I know it's just a rebadged Yukon but It's so beautiful and I want it!
The exterior of the Escalade is fantastic, definitely stands out from the GMC Yukon quite a bit.
@@PRNTestDrive I don't know what it is, but there is just something about a Cadillac!
Nice video. Good job
Thanks, we appreciate that! Hope we gained a subscriber too :D
110k CAD is almost cheap, because in italy this car cost the equivalent of 170k CAD, yes is sold here but i never see an escalade on the road, just some few hummer h2.
Holy! Makes sense though, it’s more expensive for them to import an American SUV like that.
probably not, the reason is another, MSRP for the platinium trim, in euro, USD or CAD is almost the same, from 98 USD to 108 (with much higher vat than US) EUR to 110 CAD, but the currency exchange is different, seems like manufacturers dont care about value exchange fluctuation and the use their own ratio between different currencies, looks like they use 1:1 for EUR:USD and 1.1:1.0 for CAD:USD
Makes sense, it also doesn't surprise me that our dollar would be off when converting.
what is the difference between 2017 and 2018 Cadillac escalade platinum
2018 has the newer 10 speed transmission. 2017 has the 8 speed transmission
Pretty much what was posted above.
Beautiful car, my Brother had one shipped from America to the UK a couple of years back
Very nice! I'm sure it must be a lot more expensive over there to run, the taxes alone would be crazy!
Perpetual Radio Networks yes definately, i do not know how much it all costs. He uses a small van for his work during the week, an expensive hobby.....
6699Jackie beautiful junk
goodfella21f what does gls stand for?
Dang, can’t hear you over the background music. Why is there music?
You're the only one whose complained about it.
Agreed, undisputed.
They keep selling them! A lot of commenters point out it's lacking a lot of features, but at the end of the day the Escalade is still selling like crazy in comparison to the competition.
LX570/Land Cruiser is a better buy. Real off-road performance if needed. Extremely reliable and high resale value.
Oh. They sell well in the US but not as much as the Escalade. Maybe Americans are more forgiving of poor MPG than Canadians.
Most of the people who can't afford it: Navigator. Most people who can afford: Give me the Escalade.
I can’t argue with you there.
Hello my brother i do like this car for my nice older sister really from Sénégal
We're looking at the 2020 Escalade this week! Stay tuned in a few weeks we'll have an all-new episode out on the one we're driving.
Please review the 2018 navigator black label
We're definitely hoping to! We did get a glimpse of it at the Auto Show a few weeks ago, but we're going to see when it will be made available to the press out here. I imagine it's going to be booked up, but we'll try to get it in the summer.
Just saying ESCALADE
Says it all
Pretty much!
Probably could!
Better than the new Navigator in my opinion
We agree. We drove the Navigator during the spring and wasn't overly impressed. If it came down to it, we'd take this without a second thought over the Lincoln.
You got the title wrong. It was supposed to say Lincoln Navigator.
We featured the 2018 Navigator recently: ruclips.net/video/zdAYJw7xl60/видео.html. There's significantly less interest in the Lincoln so far compared with this Escalade, we had at least 3x the views on the Escalade after the same amount of time the Navigator has been published.
do you think if you get car jacked you would be able to get away or just give over the SUV?
That’s a very strange question
@Perpetual Radio Networks
My aunt has a current-generation Escalade like this. Click on the playlist here (ruclips.net/p/PLiMHOAwkMoN5PdpbvOWzI-2Iz8iWrWm0n ) to see me drive it.
Escalade is an American made, big , massive suv. With a massive v8. In ESV configuration it is much better
We had hoped to get the ESV for the Escalade but there was a mixup when we picked it up. We're hoping to get the chance to try the long wheelbase version down the road.
Perpetual Radio Networks No problem, it’s a great car in both ways!
Range Rover and x5 had split tailgates years ago
Our 2002 Honda CR-V did as well, we didn't mean to imply the Escalade is the only one with it, we did say few SUVs are equipped with it these days.
Perpetual Radio Networks some Bmw tourers have it too, nice feature, and your right not too many cars do it, it’s probably expensive to produce
Expensive and probably not entirely reliable for water insulation. I noticed on this Escalade that the seal around the wiper assembly looked a little weak, I can see in a decade the 3rd or 4th owner might start to have some leaking issues.
THE BEST SUV !!!
That's why they sell so many of them! We featured the 2020 Escalade recently also.
let see how much of this Navigator cues and tech GM are going to copy like they did with the head lights from Mercury, the power running boards from "yes the Navigator" and the power third row seats and also the power tail gate.
Third gen Escalade looks better than the new Navigator!!!!
so are you saying the 2018 Denali interior is better?
I want one sooo bad
There's really nothing quite like it, something about the legacy it's built up over the years now.
Yesss I’ve always wanted one, even back when it was basically a rebadged Tahoe lol and this generation really have this demanding ,top dog presence
Those first years where it literally was just a badge were pretty funny, but it's definitely grown a lot since then. It really feels great being behind the wheel of this car, everyone notices.
Dequavis Hardaway U R going to be so soory
Cadillacs interior they need to step up on. If it had a nice Lincoln interior the car would be the best SUV built.
We're excited to try the 2021 Escalade. The interiors on their new vehicle look good, but they're more of an improvement over the design found on this 2018 than a complete reworking.
Freaked me out for a minute. $110,000 price tag then I realized this was in Canada so $110K Canadian is what...$85,000 USD?
About that I believe, probably a bit less since the cars in the US are sometimes cheaper than the exchange rate, especially when it's like the Escalade and built in the US.
Garbage. Just traded mine in for 2018 Lincoln L now THAT is a top SUV. Bye Escalade hello Navigator!
We think a lot of people are going to be doing that too, perhaps the Navigator will be able to de-throne the Escalade as the most popular seller.
Perpetual Radio Networks I think so too. I have the platinum Escalade and after driving Lincoln the Escalade feels like a cheap Tahoe
Buyer beware: front differential failure, tailgate cylinder failure, side view mirror failure and window switch failure.
Those are certainly some serious concerns for a vehicle that could only be a few years old at the most.
a job well done
Thank you! We’ve got the 2019 booked in a couple months, we’re very excited about getting behind the wheel of it again.
He needs to adjust the drivers seat so he can have more room.
Better than needing to delete my first comment because I can’t formulate a coherent statement.
You’re right brother. 😂
Lincoln Navigator 2018 Review
We did one.
You can watch the 2018 here: ruclips.net/video/zdAYJw7xl60/видео.html
And a Showdown with a 2024 here: ruclips.net/video/lOTlYOfXg-Q/видео.html
How much is that worth now in 2020??
Looking at about $74,000 - $76,000 CAD depending on mileage for a 2018 Platinum short wheelbase according to what's available on AutoTrader.ca as of this comment.
Just sitting waiting for navigator comments
Scroll through, you'll find tonnes of them. We actually featured the Navigator a few weeks ago, and we had very few people watch in comparison. ruclips.net/video/zdAYJw7xl60/видео.html
Sorry but is the same S.
Tell me the difference between 16,17,18
David GT Cadillac did a refresh on all their cars starting 2015.
Who in the wants a old style shift column on the wheel.. I'll take the Lincoln or Hyundai P or the jeep Trackhawk
I imagine the next generation Escalade will get a push-button transmission, as long as it's not the dinky BMW-knock-off shifter they used on the XT4 & XT5.
I'd rather have a Lincoln nav
A lot of commenters here have said the same thing too! We're really hoping we can have the chance to feature it so we can see how it differs.
You mean you can only afford a Lincoln . There is a price difference let’s be honest Cadillac has always been more expensive. It’s really about how deep your pockets are can’t get a Escalade get a Yukon and say you like Yukon’s better like people been doing for years .
No one is putting lumber in the back of a $110k
No one is putting lumber in the back.. yet. Wait until these things are 10 years old on their 3rd or 4th owner, these will look really beaten by then just like older Escalades. It's unfortunate, but it's the reality.
Undisputed champion?????? Do a review on the Lincoln Navigator 2018 and then let me know if you still think the Cadillac is the Undisputed.
You obviously have never driven a 2018 Navigator to make this comment.
The SuperChargers do this drive a Lincoln Navigator also explorer all the options it has and then come back and leave us a comment.
Cadilac Escalade
It is the King!
Shits on the Lincoln Navigator
We had the Navigator this week! These two certainly are the most comparable full-size luxury SUVs.
This guy is really squeezing into that jacket...
Keep your ignorance to yourself
American cars are the best in the world
I mean some are.
lol DVD come on Cadillac in this day and age where streaming is the new black you gotta make your screens cast compatible. can easily download movies off hulu or netflix and cast it to the screen instead of this DVD crap!!! nice vehicle though warming up to it!
The Lincoln Navigator we featured was like that, no disc media was available for the rear entertainment system. We had to make sure the USB drive we used was formatted properly and we used a video format that was compatible with the system.
@@PRNTestDrive FAT32 right? Still easier than DVD. But manufactures have to ensure that their screens are cast compatible it makes it so much easier.
I think it was, I know it took a bit of testing for us to get it to work since I use a Mac and a ThinkPad for primary work.
11:10 ...Is it really "dude taking a shit on the toilet" outside or -4 degrees?
dunno
I see all these guys reviewing their big new SUV's, so what's it like for the wife to drive? how does the Mrs. like it compared to say her 4runner or smaller suv?
That's certainly a valid point. We'd love nothing more than to have a female perspective on this show to talk about their likes and dislikes about some of these vehicles. Everyone has a different experience with them, and we're only able to show one side of it.
New navigator
We're hoping to get one soon, we're on-board with the team at Ford but I don't believe they've sent out the Navigators to Québec yet.
Hmm.. 2018 Navigator baby
We've got it booked for May 7th, so be prepared for a Showdown episode between these two!
LOL gear shift. My god WHAT YEAR WE ARE IN??
The column shifter? Definitely doesn't make this feel like a luxury vehicle, that's for sure.
Hilarious but well informed review
We appreciate that, thanks!
cylinder deactivation V4? more probably an L4, is not possible turn off half bank but is possible turn off 1 entire bank
p.s. who doesn't need a cadillac escalade for buy SOME eggs? lol
The gauge cluster does show as a V4, but they might display that for the average consumer. The CT6 we had also dropped down from a V6 to display as a V4
I think it's possible to turn off entire bank or half bank. At least on Hondas, their V6 vcm can deactivate either 2 or 3 cylinders making it either I3 or V4 configuration
ok, maybe is possible, i just always heard of 1 bank off
edit... no, you are right, few 4 cylinder car also use 2 cylinder deactivation...
I believe GM also is using a new method to get vehicles down to 1 cylinder, but I apologize if it wasn't them. I remember watching a video from the Detroit Auto show talking about pickup trucks, and I think it's the new Silverado that can deactivate all the way down to 1.
it's 2018 and this vehicle still has a column shifter? lol
The Escalade isn’t the champion because it’s the best, but because people buy it more than the rest.
yeah ill be buying lumber with this baby all day home depot trips yeah
Hah!
Sure it looks great, but it’s ginormous lol.
Oh yeah! That's why we love it!
