      @saxxyJ 5 лет назад +44

      It’s hard to tell.. Translucent picked Hughie off the ground & threw him across the room. I don’t think normal humans can really do that, but the show makers probably took certain liberties to make the story flow better.

    Homelander made sense in why he couldn’t save them. He has Superman powers but he isn’t Superman also. He’s just lazy af and could’ve easily killed the last terrorist with his hands instead of using heat vision and wrecking the control panel. Antony Starr made this scene a lot better than how it was in the comics as well.

    • @SrGigglesandlaughs
      @SrGigglesandlaughs 5 лет назад +22

      No days off Nah he could have saved some of them. His first priority was public image rather than lives. His demeanor was nonchalant and carefree like the decision to leave these people didn’t mean anything to him. He literally threatened to laser the passengers. It wouldn’t have been so bad if he’d explained the situation and had witnesses he saved, while being contrite and remorseful for not being able to save everyone.

    • @anonymes2884
      @anonymes2884 5 лет назад +39

      There's an argument to be made that Homelander wrecked the controls deliberately IMO. Both he and Maeve are bullet proof so he wouldn't have a "startle response" to having a gun pointed at him and he also has much faster than human reflexes. There're about 20 ways he could've ended it differently in other words. Personally I think he knew that a horrific tragedy sways public opinion much more than a great save.

    I love that homelander acknowledged a problem with super strength, surface tension. If he applies too much pressure to an object over a small area than he will go through it. I.e. he would go through the plane if he tried to lift it. It would be impossible to lift large objects like cars because his arm would go through it.

      Yeah, superhuman strength and/or durability is a necessary prerequisite of many superpowers (flight, superspeed etc.), otherwise they'd die just by using their powers. In the same way, Starlight is probably immune or at least very resistant to some/all kinds of radiation. Translucent doesn't seem to hurt Butcher more than a normal punch would though so he likely didn't have it.

    I was waiting for Aaron or Eric to recognize Shantel VanSanten for playing Patty from the Flash
    Or the Female that was lock up was Katana in Suicide Squad.
    great reaction but man when I first watched this episode those two scenes were hard for me to watch.

    I said it last episode and I will say it again. If you guys like Antony Starr y’all need to check out his previous show Banshee. Similar to this show but no super powers.

    As loads of people have already commented that Anthony Starr is outstanding in the show Banshee i echo the statements please consider reacting to if you have not already watched, its a really underated gem and there are more great performances in it than Starr's. also spied the Irn Bru bottle Calvin is drinking, as a proud Scotsman all i can say is YYYAAAASSSS!!!

    So I guess you never watched Banshee? Antony Starr was the main character in this show and it was amaaazing! Antony Starr plays the man known as Lucas Hood: An ex-con and master thief released from prison after 15 years who adopts the identity of the real Lucas Hood, Banshee's incoming sheriff, who dies in the premiere episode. This show would be right down your alley and very worth a reaction (maybe after the boys?). Season 1 trailer: ruclips.net/video/VI7haj7HTCA/видео.html

    The airplane scene actually made me cry. I have a fear of flying and so that really dosent help but I've never had an issue watching airplane scenes in movies. This show... holy fuck. And that scene with the girl ripping the guts out of the guy and then the other dude shooting himself in the head made me nauseous. I almost threw up. Words cant describe how well done this show is. I mean seriously. I'm still watching the show slowly, haven't seen past this episode so no spoilers please

    My favorite TV show...
    My favorite episode...
    That airplane scene was the greatest "real-life" superhero "rescue" scene I've ever seen on film. In real life even someone with flight and super-strength can NOT lift an airplane of that size.Try balancing the weight of that airplane onto the tip of something like a telephone pole. What's gonna happen? The pole goes right through it. Plain and simple. Superman has a Kryptonian aura that "plot devices" that problem when he lifts a plane.
    And the dolphin scene was fucking glorious! I don't even have to say anything else about it.
