Thoma might make your burn-melt more comfortable to play. Nahida's self burn dmg on top of Wrio's skill self dmg ends up deleting him immediately if you're not careful lol so a pyro shield is nice to have since it's 250% res to pyro dmg.
I was so confused why my wrio keeps dying so quick in a burn melt, then I remember my nahida has 1k EM, Thoma at 200EM and I discovered only 6 days after pulling wrio the slay
Burning on ennemies also applies to your characters if they're too close , like hyperbloom and bloom , but unlike them , you take all the dmg not a lowest dmg ( bloom don't do 30k on your characters for example) I advice you to play with Kazuha instead of Nahida or Dehya , Zhongli etc
You probably figured this out already, but the burning aura on enemies has a small AoE and it can hurt you if you're in it. And deals serious DMG to you non the less. I play him with Thoma instead of xiangling. Less DMG but much more comfort and consistency (plus the C6 on Thoma is nice).
seeing you spam normal attacks with Xiangling really hurts X_X you tickle the enemies for ~15s multiple times instead of waiting to get every single burst back up and stay on Xiangling for ages - just switch to Wriothesley and punch the enemies! in these 15s he would easily kill the enemy solo without needing any bursts and if you want your bursts up so badly : just switch in your other characters - mainly Bennett - use their skills and swap in Xiangling to catch the particles so she gets more energy

Use Thoma, I know this is Xiangling impact but you're dying in an abyss that's on the easy side with hyperinvested whale tier characters, but if you add to your skill issue the fact that you're baking yourself with Nahida and Bennett then the pyro shield makes sense specially since Wrio is so melee that he practically goes inside the enemy. if you did wanna use xiangling, use favonius lance. if you need defense, use thoma since normal attacks also proc thoma’s flames and make his shield stronger. alternatively, dehya can also work
@@patricialock1862 catch is for the damage, and favonius is for the stable burst recharge, which can increase your overall dps way more than the catch. And since you just want to apply pyro to the enemies for rizzly to hit them, energy recharge is better.
if you have C6 Thoma, he will also buff Wrio so you could replace Xiangling in your team with him for more Wrio damage. Thoma's shield also helps of course, and you maintain the pyro resonance.
In burn-melt, it's better to use Thoma or Dehya for the res of interruption, with Xiangling it's better to use Kazuha, Xiangling and Nahida aren't the best due because Xiangling's application is already enough, especialy with Kazuha.

If a character rotation and skills are too complicated to explain to razor, I'm gonna skip. That's why I love yoimiya. No paying attention to health levels, no weaving charged into normals, no animation canceling.... just bennet Q, yelan Q, yoimiya E, spam normals till fire is gone, reset rotation. I even add zhongli to the team so I don't have to dodge.
I mean Ayaka is not a normal attack focused character and it doesn't even very good damage till c6 + Shenhe. She's a freeze dps with her kit focusing on the burst. Melt Ayaka would feel shit in abyss atleast. His kit is kind of the opposite. Same element does not mean same kit and usage..

@@noir6205 with wriothesley's c1, you don't have to wait for him to be below 60% max hp anymore cause now he'll get his enhanced charge attack at the end up his fifth normal attack and the cooldown for his enhanced CA goes from 5s to 2.5s. so then when you're attacking with wriothesley you'd perform a N5C combo which is just unleashing his whole basic attack sequence and following up with his charge attack immediately after. This way you'll heal more and get more dmg.

Fyi, burning damage on enemies has a small aoe that can apply to you, that's why you were dying in 12-3. Rizzley has to get so close to the enemies that he's inside that burn aoe really often. I'd swap nahida for xingqiu and drive national with rizzley to not have burning On the enemies.
For a high investment Wriothesley Thoma is also a decently good option, doesn't do as much damage as Xiangling, but since the reaction is procced by Wrio mainly, losing her damage isn't as big of a deal as it is in Rev Vape. In exchange for that he still gives constant Pyro to maintain the Pyro and Burning aura, protects Wriothesley from Burning damage (being pyro damage Thoma shield also has increased resistance to it) and grants good Interruption resistance (and since shield stacking is fast his IR is actually great). And obviously the C6 effect which buffs Normal and Charged attack damage. Favonius is also one of his best weapon choices so he can even run without Bennett, allowing the team to slot Kazuha or Shenhe instead (being C1 he doesn't necessarily need a healer in the team)
I liked Wriothesley's personality in the Archon Quest thinking that his damage gonna suck anyway and will be easy to skip for me, but now I know how strong he is although I‘m still gonna skip him, I’m gonna bring him home in his rerun.

I had this issue as well. As it turns out Burning Enemies could have an effect on your characters, they could burn your characters if they are close to an burning Enemies and eating away your Hp fast before you could react That is why my Wriothesley keeps dying. Better off to have Reverse Melt instead of Burning Melt on Wriothesley teams because your punching them. Burning Melt is a lot better for ranged characters like Ganyu
Weak? not really, underwhelming? yep a bit, I mean I was ready to be disapointed by Lyney and he was actually a nice surprise, then Neuvillette came and he blew my mind, good damage, feels good to play and he doesn't have mandatory teams. Wrio is a decent character but he is extremely melee, his C1 is douche move on Hoyo part, his ult is boring as fck, the micromanaging of his life would be more justified if he was as consistent as Hu Tao at least and honestly Cryo has been having a hard time lately with all these bosses on the last floor. Maybe the amount of problems they are going to fix on the next patch will make him feel a lot better but so far I experienced the targeting problem (already solved) the attack chain not continuing (gonna get fixed on 4.2) and well the best teams for him need a lot of characters that are better on other teams. Decent character but lacked something else, when your competition is Ayaka and Ganyu, you have some big boots to fill.

Wrio being able to ignore a part of his kit doesn't change that he has to mind his HP. He is decent but for that amount of trouble I would've expected more but what do I know, I'm not a conformist and Hoyo doesn't pay me shit to be defending their choices.
Yeah, Burn melt isn't the best team for Worcestershire, because burn has an AoE aura, and, Rizzley, being an mêlée unit, has no way to keep himself away from it, and add the fact that he already hurts himself during the skill, it's pretty easy to him get KO'd if not careful enough.
Long answer, thoma is an excellent addition for wrio, because he’s pyro which means he completes the pyro resonance, thoma absorbs pyro more than other types of damage, at c6 he buffs Na and Ca damage, gives wrio resistance to interruption
Summary of this video, do NOT add burning to a Wriothesley comp. It's anti-synergistic. Pyro itself is fine, but the DOT that can burn you as well hurts.

With no external buffs, Wrio wants to have less than 64 crit rate (since anything over 64 will go over 100) With cryo res, you should be lower than 49 crit rate With a maxed out Rosaria (100 cr for A4 passive), this falls to just needing 34 crit rate For blizzard strayer the values will be a bit lower, but its the same calculations

His C1 is scummy bait and should've been part of his base kit but seeing some more skilled people videos he is perfectly fine at C0 and pretty competent, it totally depends on if you enjoy vertically investing or having variety, Furina kit is set on stone as far as I know and she looks quite nice if that helps.

Yea the problem Wriothesley has with burn melt comps is that he gets to close to the enemies when they're on fire, this resulting in you taking cabbage from your own burn. Which is incredibly stupid, but there are ways around that. For one, if you do Xiangling for Thoma, you get a nice pyro sheild to absorb that burn damage, while Nahida burn keeps them ablaze. Alternatively, Xianglings pyro application is so high, you don't really need burn to begin with, and can sub her out for either more damage supports, like Kazuha, Shenhe or Yunjin.
I be careful with burning teams, hp goes down pretty quickly so you need a very good healer, benny is not enough. Maybe try thoma and another healer something like baizu

Fyi, burning damage on enemies has a small aoe that can apply to you, that's why you were dying in 12-3. Rizzley has to get so close to the enemies that he's inside that burn aoe really often. I'd swap nahida for xingqiu and drive national with rizzley to not have burning On the enemies.
For a high investment Wriothesley Thoma is also a decently good option, doesn't do as much damage as Xiangling, but since the reaction is procced by Wrio mainly, losing her damage isn't as big of a deal as it is in Rev Vape.
In exchange for that he still gives constant Pyro to maintain the Pyro and Burning aura, protects Wriothesley from Burning damage (being pyro damage Thoma shield also has increased resistance to it) and grants good Interruption resistance (and since shield stacking is fast his IR is actually great). And obviously the C6 effect which buffs Normal and Charged attack damage. Favonius is also one of his best weapon choices so he can even run without Bennett, allowing the team to slot Kazuha or Shenhe instead (being C1 he doesn't necessarily need a healer in the team)
I liked Wriothesley's personality in the Archon Quest thinking that his damage gonna suck anyway and will be easy to skip for me, but now I know how strong he is although I‘m still gonna skip him, I’m gonna bring him home in his rerun.

I had this issue as well. As it turns out Burning Enemies could have an effect on your characters, they could burn your characters if they are close to an burning Enemies and eating away your Hp fast before you could react
That is why my Wriothesley keeps dying. Better off to have Reverse Melt instead of Burning Melt on Wriothesley teams because your punching them. Burning Melt is a lot better for ranged characters like Ganyu
He does damage and thats what you mostly need in characters performance so no idea why some people call him weak.
Weak? not really, underwhelming? yep a bit, I mean I was ready to be disapointed by Lyney and he was actually a nice surprise, then Neuvillette came and he blew my mind, good damage, feels good to play and he doesn't have mandatory teams.
Wrio is a decent character but he is extremely melee, his C1 is douche move on Hoyo part, his ult is boring as fck, the micromanaging of his life would be more justified if he was as consistent as Hu Tao at least and honestly Cryo has been having a hard time lately with all these bosses on the last floor.
Maybe the amount of problems they are going to fix on the next patch will make him feel a lot better but so far I experienced the targeting problem (already solved) the attack chain not continuing (gonna get fixed on 4.2) and well the best teams for him need a lot of characters that are better on other teams.
Decent character but lacked something else, when your competition is Ayaka and Ganyu, you have some big boots to fill.

You don't even need to micromanage shit just bring a healer and focus on doing normals and the occasional charged attacks while keeping in mind that his A1 is supplementary. You don't even need to be in the 10% threshold considering the passive stays with you even if you go past 50% - 60% so what are you even talking about?

Xiangling being able to burst on cooldown after you funnel particles doesn't change the fact that she had energy issues.

Yeah, Burn melt isn't the best team for Worcestershire, because burn has an AoE aura, and, Rizzley, being an mêlée unit, has no way to keep himself away from it, and add the fact that he already hurts himself during the skill, it's pretty easy to him get KO'd if not careful enough.

Long answer, thoma is an excellent addition for wrio, because he’s pyro which means he completes the pyro resonance, thoma absorbs pyro more than other types of damage, at c6 he buffs Na and Ca damage, gives wrio resistance to interruption
Summary of this video, do NOT add burning to a Wriothesley comp. It's anti-synergistic. Pyro itself is fine, but the DOT that can burn you as well hurts.

@@krumi_hazuki1440 I guess that helps. Thomas moreso because he adds damage you lose by removing Xiangling (Removing one of the other two for Baizhu is a big downgrade). Another option is overload instead of burning, but idk. There are some champs that scale well with attack speed to be explored.

yeah, the burning of enemies will apply to you if you're using a melee character. it was one of the first few things i realized back when i did a lot of boss coop for fun. so id always dread if there was simply just burn reactions and i got stuck on a melee character. i also want to level my wrio faster but i just tripled my lyney 😭and they both use the same weekly. actually dying.

With no external buffs, Wrio wants to have less than 64 crit rate (since anything over 64 will go over 100)
With cryo res, you should be lower than 49 crit rate
With a maxed out Rosaria (100 cr for A4 passive), this falls to just needing 34 crit rate
For blizzard strayer the values will be a bit lower, but its the same calculations

His C1 is scummy bait and should've been part of his base kit but seeing some more skilled people videos he is perfectly fine at C0 and pretty competent, it totally depends on if you enjoy vertically investing or having variety, Furina kit is set on stone as far as I know and she looks quite nice if that helps.

Yea the problem Wriothesley has with burn melt comps is that he gets to close to the enemies when they're on fire, this resulting in you taking cabbage from your own burn. Which is incredibly stupid, but there are ways around that.
For one, if you do Xiangling for Thoma, you get a nice pyro sheild to absorb that burn damage, while Nahida burn keeps them ablaze.
Alternatively, Xianglings pyro application is so high, you don't really need burn to begin with, and can sub her out for either more damage supports, like Kazuha, Shenhe or Yunjin.
