@@Mister_scab_man As a EU4 player with 4.1k hours and a HOI4 player with 1.6k hours, you don't stop learning new things because these are some of the most complex strategy games out there. 350 hours is a rookie number.
The whole aspect of combat in this game just feels like gambling, if you don't know what your enemy is going to deploy against you, how do you know what to put in your divisions? "Defensive template - 4 infantry battalions" - well can't the damn enemy just use artillery and rip them to shreds? What good are they. I'm honestly beginning to hate this game, crusader kings is so much easier to get into and the armies make so much more sense.
Note: The supply sytem isn't only for no step back, it's integrated to the based hoi4 it self. Good luck with managing your supply in the middle of siberia!
As a newb I just played by first Ironman game as the Netherlands and won 🤣 the germans gave up after I inflicted roughly 15 to 1 KD ratio on them at Amsterdam. It was amazing.
thanks so mcuh for this! I now know why my super tank divisions couldn't even breakthrough a basic italian infantry division - god damn supply and equipment defecit
I have 2k hours in eu4 and just started hoi4. it's a bit painful to play without guide videos, it was a bit frustrating especially when I played from 36 to 39 and lost everything when the war began lol these are great infos thx from turkey
Is there any UI mode which displays of the army tab on the stores supply of the divisions? It is insane that it is not displayed and you have to check one by one...
4:26 me with my 1700h looking that i can't just trow 3 artillery to my main infantry division😢😢. (I just do it and just wait for artillery to be product. 😂😂 But it is what do you want/ how you want. (I do that at start if game) Not in middle of war or just before war
Can someone tell me if I should have separate tank and motorized divisions in the same army? Or just do tank divisions with motorized? I find motorized divisions without tanks just burn through men and equipment without yielding positive results
It’s hard to play around with different division templates when I usually only have enough points for one solid division, so I always get stuck doing the usual infantry/2. Artillery for 20 combat width.
@@Corporate101-mk6ib try to look for ways to optimize your army XP generation. Ask yourself: Am I getting army advisors that grant xp early enough? Am I selecting the right army spirits? Am I using every foreign civil war as an opportunity to get XP? A mistake I often did with France for example was to not get involved in the Spanish civil war, which meant that I would often lose to Germany as my troops were lacking in XP. However, once I got involved and did it right, defeating the axis alone became much more of an easy task. The game is as simple as getting XP for doctrines and divisions, and making sure you produce enough equipment and divisions to achieve success.
Offensive infantry divisions with 3 arty battalions but make different templates for defensive and offensive infantry because you likely won't make enough equipment.
Reading all the comments from the veteran players gives me the impression I struck gold early. Just a newb but will put the tips to good use defending the Benelux against ze Germans
@@LarryMiller3396 here's some extra ones - the game is as simple as 1. Make enough weapons 2. Get enough divisions out 3. Get army experience early enough so you're not behind on doctrines. With a smaller county you might struggle with manpower or enough production, so maximize your defense stats and let the Germans run out of manpower and equipment before you counter. Also have enough weapons in reserve for any attack you plan
As someone with 1k hours in hoi4 thx for this video
4k still can't play a game without quitting 20 minutes in or less so sad. 💀

Extremely well made video. Very succinct, very well-paced, and extremely informative. Liked and subscribed.
You want defense on attacking generals too, especially tank armies - it gives breakthrough.
This video is super informative, super clear, and well done! Great job
Thank you kindly
I'd really like to see a video for templates designed for minor nations with lower manpower and tech.
Thanks, because of you i was able to defeat the allies
