Thanks for a great review! I'm glad you enjoyed the design, it's one of my favorites. Check our website Monday we are releasing a small batch of Topless Puzzle Box :)
Really enjoyed it. The "AHA" moment was so satisfying! 😁👍
Great puzzle!!!!
Great job on that design
Thank you Eric and Dallas for the kind comments! Also, @Mr. Puzzle you can put the box back together without using the lids if you use the diagonal axis...that's what the angled cuts on the corner by the pin retention hole are for :)
Best puzzle I've ever seen.
The best ones are the ones that are very simple when you know it. Like with the best magic tricks.
Brilliant use of magnetic repulsion. Most puzzles with magnets just use them to stick stuff together.
Clever guy just added 'Topless' for the RUclips algorithm.
🤣🤣
@@Mr.Puzzle Love your stuff, man. Your videos are always interesting and relaxing to watch.
It's rare to see a puzzle use repelling magnets as part of the solution. Though simple, it's unconventional and unique. I love it.
This was the first time in puzzle history that I knew right away what the solution was going to be. I even exclaimed, "I knew it!!" when he opened the box 😂
Nice! :)
Yeah, same here. Mr Puzzle‘s brain is already too sophisticated 😉
Likewise! I'm extremely bad at puzzles, and when he showed that there was a magnet on only one side of the lid I just knew, just keep trying to turn the lids and it will open eventually!
Not trying to be a smart guy, but this looks like one of those cases that a guy is so good at solving puzzles, that gets stuck on one that has a simple way to solve! 😉
Super cool mechanism, puzzle boxes are among my favourite puzzles to see on this channel; they are usually the most creative.
Thanks for showing us a top with that topless box. That was pretty clever.
Thank you, Mr Puzzle!
So far my favorite puzzle, I love magnets, I love simple. What a beautiful combination💞😇👍
Mr Puzzle has done so many puzzles, he became a wood expert in the process
😁👍
Clever! Both the puzzle design and the determination of solution! 👏
75% gold play button to be exact! A lot of people to amaze so often. Thank
I love how simple and clever this is. Perfect stash box
99% of these puzzles, I have no idea how he completes them as fast as he does. This one though took him over an hour and I knew the solution almost immediately.
🤗
Your superpower is patience, my friend. Well done.
Great concept and great craftsmanship. Definitely one to put on my wish list!
So satisfying, feels good to see the solutions.
This is one time that I was yelling at the screen about what you should try.
At least you had some fun! :D
Same here! 👍👍
I don't often get the solution but I worked this one out very quickly. I was getting a bit frustrated too, it was painful!
The two magnets in the lids - one in the center and one in the corner - gave it away.
I think he's so used to strange unusual solutions by now that it doesn't occur to his mind anymore to try the straight, simple in your face stuff :D.
The Birdseye Maple is 😍😍
I love the simplicity of the puzzle. This was ridiculously cool.
Loved solving this puzzle. Happy to own a copy 🙏🏻
First time I ever figured out the solution before Mr Puzzle! Soon as you said the lids had a magnet in the corner I got it, woo hoo
You had me at topless.
I like this puzzle. A puzzle with a unique mechanism is better than one with lots of normal mechanisms
awesome puzzle and as always amazingly solved!
It was fun to watch you trying to solve it. Nice concept.
Glad you like it!
Very clever! Would love to have it, beautiful and challenging.
what a great design, love it
Too easy!!! It would take me days to get it! Great puzzle and excellent video!!
Thanks!
First Rule of Puzzles: Bop it! Twist it! Spin it! Pull it!
Brilliant mechanism!!
That was amazing, such a simple solution hidden so beautifully. For the first time ever I understood your thought process when you worked out what was going on and what was moving. Really impressive for such a simple puzzle.
That is A Brilliant idea for a puzzle
This one is looking like a great and also an original idea executed superb. I love magnets.
This is one puzzle that I actually knew the solution just as soon as he took off the lids that were held on by magnets. Knowing that magnets repel as well as attract. I'm pretty sure I would of had this one open in less than 2 minutes. Honestly most of these puzzles I would never find the solution to. So I'm just happy to find one. Also the more of these puzzle videos I watch the more I realize there are only so many ways to make things work.
I love Cubicdissection, can't wait for Monday's release! Also, I believe the tops have Tungsten tips🍻
Wow! I make puzzles myself... that is very clever, very beautiful. Wow!
I'd love to check out your work! Do you have a website?
Great video! Amazing puzzle.
I liked this puzzle. Maybe I will add it to my collection.
That was sooo cool. And beautiful. Your enthusiasm is wonderful, it always makes me smile. Loved the cute little spinner, too.
I just knew banging it would come into play.
What a wonderfully crafted puzzle though once we know the solution. Incredibly simple, devilishly hard.
It looks beautifully made!
Woaw, vraiment difficile bravo. 🙏
You are so kind before you slay your opponent .A gentleman can never show their power.
Very clever puzzle. Looks cool to
Just came across your videos enjoying them and subscribed 😊
"It will just be one movement..." *one hour later*
"neither a top nor a bottom"
hmm..
Its a switch 😆
no, its a versatile
That's class
I actually predicted that the solution involved repelling the magnets inside, but I was still satisfied with seeing how it actually worked.
I like this , this was cool 👌🏽🇦🇺
omg so clever!!!
This is not the topless we wanted, but what we deserved.
That intro left me with awe
It looks like if you flip the spinning plate over there's a notch to mount the top for show.
Simple solution for complex puzzle
Add a keyfob to an Audi A7 as a gift inside to really make it harder.
Ok here is my guess at 5:40 both lids have to be placed in the right orientation for it to open.
Get this man to 800k!
🙏
I’m actually surprised it took you so long to work this one out seeing as you’ve solved MUCH harder puzzles in less time. I actually really like this puzzle but $220 is a little bit pricey for me (as usual!).
So much better then a ramsey video..
2:23 - With all that spinage, I imagine you'll end up looking like Popeye soon!
Imagine how much more difficult that would be if all the sides looked the same.
Or if it was 10 boxes in one with many magnets in diff corners making the order and gravity effecting magnets.
I had immediately imagined brute-forcing the key configurations - there's 16 possible - but I never would have thought about the box being assembled "diagonally"
32 combinations as the lids have to be on the correct side.....
32
Wow
Can the lids be used as coasters. If not, missed opportunity. Looks like amazing work.
Lol after 30 seconds I thought of that solution.
For once I had actually figured it out fairly quickly.
I like the simplicity of this puzzle, I went to check the link and it’s sold out!!! Maybe there will be a re-release.
On the page I linkes you can see there will be a last batch next week
Oh cool, I did look again! Thanks for the response. I love your videos. 👍
Oooh would love to see you solve the lock 64 from puzzlemaster! I feel it'd be up your ally
I think I have it here, if yes I will try it soon!
@@Mr.Puzzle still waiting on your attempt at the hazmat cargo! I hear Carl Hoff sent it to both you and Chris ( he hasn’t solved it yet). I purchased a copy myself and am nearing a solution!
I JUST FREAKED OUT
I didn’t realize it but I was 100% expecting Chris Ramsey 😂
when are you going to tackle a harder revomaze
Me: Can we have a Chris Ramsay puzzle intro?
Mom: We have a Chris Ramsay puzzle intro at home.
Chris Ramsay puzzle intro at home:
45 minutes: When in doubt spin and bang it!
Well... 😅
The instant I saw the way it would open I thought of the correct way to open it.
Then you took an hour to figure it out and me thinking ”should I just skip to the end”?
Chris Ramsey has competition
A little way through, I said: You need to put the lids back on, Mr P!
I would love to buy this puzzle but I just cannot justify it at that price point.
Thanks for the feedback Ryan! My goal in life is to get as many high-quality puzzles out in the world as I can at the lowest prices. I'd love to be able to sell it for less but it's just very costly to manufacture small-batch high-quality work. We start with solid stock lumber and handcraft the entire thing from scratch. It takes a long time to maintain the quality. As the mechanical puzzle world grows and the market gets bigger we hope to be able to scale production and bring prices down so our work is more accessible.
it was literally hit and try. With sides lol
It would have been easy for me because I would have tried all 32 orientations of the tops first.
I’m gonna get one of these and use it to hide things from my little brother lol
Imagine how confused aliens are going to be when they start finding puzzles.
Where do you store your large collection of puzzles?
It could be a 3/5 to a new puzzler who simply rotates the lids and tries the 'opening' side from the beginning. Great puzzle though, beautifully made!
I believe the trick is that you have to not only rotate the lids, but also swap them. They both have magnets with reverse polarity, and so you have to swap the lids to get them on the right side.
@@Guharfuh Very likely! I'd try both sides myself and though I'm a beginner and Mr Puzzle is a true expert I'm surprised he didn't himself as a first step, but maybe it's just the simple (!) way I think. Even so, despite the time it took I do think it's a 3/5 at hardest and Mr Puzzle took into the account the simple yet brilliant mechanism as well as the quality when he rated it :)
@@kimchi_b You're probably spot on with this! The psychology of puzzles is interesting - good puzzle designs often take advantage of the solver's assumptions. Experienced puzzle solvers often have more assumptions than a novice. I've seen someone totally new to puzzles solve a box in five minutes that stumped a veteran for weeks. Some of my designs aimed at the more experienced crowd use those assumptions against them, and Topless is one of them.
@@Cubicdissection Brilliant, many thanks for the reply! I'm sorry, I edited my reply to be a bit shorter and missed out that this would very likely be harder for the more advanced puzzler, which is what you're referring to I think. The psychology is fascinating indeed and the fact it took Mr Puzzle so long is a testament to how well it can work! Even for a novice though IF I solved it quite quickly I would think it a brilliant and satisfying puzzle that would encourage me to try more, great work :)
@@kimchi_b thank you! We really love our work and our clients. Puzzlers are some of the nicest people in the world for sure :)
This world is a terrarium, a built, and stationary growthhouse, not a planet freely in a space!
The spinning top base almost looks like a euler disc.
In 1,000,000 years this puzzle will no longer function and be locked forever in treasure hunters vault
Schrödinger's Box...
Would have been fun to see if you could have solved the puzzle before the top stopped spinning.
No way! :)
Not gonna lie, once you mentioned magnets on the corners of the lid i kepy thinking, how long before he realizes the solutions staring him in the face lol.
Some of these you do would drive me batty, but the moment i see magnets i begin wondering where they need to fit. Because magnets wont get put in for no reason.
Nice. $229
There's is a small bump in price to $239 for this last batch. We're still working out our pricing models against overhead and labor...it's tough to do for a small operation like us!
Feeding the algorithm
random comment for support :D
Would had been fun if the creator had put a steel ball inside.
Mr Puzzle might've still been sitting there shaking it and spinning it.
Is your collection small or is it of small tops?
small
@@Mr.Puzzle ok😂
Why choose when you can have both? Oh is that not the TOPic?
So each lid can only open one side, and therefore there are 32 combinations?
A lot of people don't realize this, but you can put your weed in there.
I waited for that comment 😁
You could accidentally solve this puzzle in the first second. Then it would be a super short video.
Yes, there is a chance.
