Great reaction. You can’t go wrong with Bloc Party. They have an early 2000s energy about them that outdoes a lot of other acts of their time. Kind of like a youthful, less polished Franz Ferdinand sound. Silent Alarm will blow your heads off. Should give the whole album a listen!

The only thing I don't like about Bloc Party is it's so difficult to play along since they love to interleave the two guitars practically every other note. (Not so much in this song, instead they're just layered here... but the rest of silent alarm certainly does it frequently)

Good battle Pete . Two very good bands from the 00’s. If Pete had chosen Helicopter or Banquet from that first Bloc Party lp they would have been my winner. Have to go with Wolf Like Me a classic indie rock tune from that period of time.

Shawn and Trey, I like hearing the facts you research and share. I also never heard of this band. The first song has energy and is a fast moving rocking song. Excellent drums and percussion and the guitars are were on fire. This has a catchy sound in the music in a rapid fire tempo. You guys are right about the lyrical imagery. Your comments are accurately described. The second song has a steady rocking rhythm, then it shifts to a slower tempo.after that the tempo picks up again. Good point Shawn on the dreamy arrangement. Good point Trey on the synth sound turning to guitar heavy. Good comments on the lyrics. Shawn chose Like Eating Glass, Trey chose Wolf Like Me. Both songs have their qualities. I think I will choose Like Eating Glass as the winner. Tight song battles Pete.

I'm not necessarily a fan of either band but I'm going with Bloc Party mainly because I've always loved their drummer Matt Tong. And just to correct you guys he was their drummer at that time not Louise Bartle. Also, you guys reacted to Gang of Four not that long ago and a lot of UK bands in the mid 00s were playing in the style of that band. It was called the post punk revival.
Ya Danny it is VERY hard through research to figure out what incarnation of whatever band is on a track when there are no individual track credits given. We do the best we can but it is what it is when you do every genre, other languages, etc.
