Angelica played the villain brilliantly
She is a Goddess!!
Just like her role in The Addams Family😍👍
Did you know she was supposed to play misery
Montrez'e Leashore As much as I love Anjelica Huston, I think Kathy Bates was perfect as Annie Wilkes. I read the book before seeing the movie and it was like she stepped right out of the book and into the screen. If they ever remade Misery then Anjelica would probably be a brilliant choice but it is a tough role to follow after Kathy Bates.
Really
The actress playing the panicked mother did a FANTASTIC job!
I a,ways thought her screams were chilling.
Agreed. Her acting is pretty convincing, totally panicked, you can hear that despair.
I agree one hundred percent!
Like she is on screen for just a few seconds but she makes the most of it.
Yeah I agree but WHAT THE HECK WAS SHE FLIPPIN WEARING
The excited witch jumping up and down gets me every time 😆
What the hell do you expect when you park a stroller at the edge of a cliff and fall asleep?!
Anything really except the queen of witches pushing it off the cliff
Sneakhyperion92 well it could have fallen off if the wind got strong it’s stupid
Addison D'Amelio ф
Baby brain. The baby is still very young so mum hasn’t slept properly in months. That’s what I always thought anyway.
I expect a witch pushing it off the cliff
there should be a noticed on the movie that says "no children were hurt during the making of this film", because that cliff ledge seemed pretty real to me. 😲
they could have used a dummy for the baby in that shot though
Animal Jam Dudett Yes, it was too risky to see a baby actor rolled off to the cliff for just 10 miles away to the edge.
Animal Jam Dudett the shooting can be divided in two kind of captures: those where you see the pram rolling down the cliff with a doll-baby into it and the one focusing the baby in the pram being balanced while it's rolling but actually during this last one the pram was being driven by a cameraman who is also caring the camera or how do you think the camera is focusing so closely the baby without losing him from its focuse point?
I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you guys really hit your head on a wall and your brain cells were overshaken
Or animals since for some scenes they used real mice
It was very selfless of Luke to put his self in danger of being captured by the the witches .He was willing to lay down his life for the baby. Luke honor the name of all Luke's like Skywalker.

luke is a true gigachad
@@reminder8349 253 now
Luke is a lovely boy. He was raised well by his grandmother to be caring and considerate.
I'm sure everyone in that situation would want to save the baby from falling off a cliff like luke was already spotted by the grand witch
Mother: Oh, thank you for saving my baby! Now, if you don't mind, I'll just let these 50+ women continue to chase you without attempting to stop them or alert authorities.
@X4TERUMI yeah but come on, more than 50 women chasing a little boy has to be a little suspicious
@@mrab4092 bruh they're women lol if it was men then she'd freak, but women are all innocent creatures lol
@@mrab4092 true
I thought the same thing but most people are only concerned with themselves
This scene is just so well done and brilliant the way that Luke is running at the speed of light to stop the baby in the pram falling off the cliff but it’s still scary the way the grand high witch uses the baby in the pram falling down the hill onto the cliff as a diversion and distraction intentionally so the witches have more of a chance of getting him and that at the same time he’s running away from the witches who are basically pretending to help the mother but they’re really witches.
When he saves that Baby God bless him Luke you're wonderful
WILLIE DANIELS But the saddest bit to me is that he gets turned into a mouse by the Grand High Witch halfway through the film.
Franki Selby That's true but, he at least had the power to cause the Grand High Witch and the other witches into mice since the theatrical trailer for the movie said "even mice can set traps too."
But at the end of the movie, you know when Susan Irvine, the Grand High Witch's assistant, becomes a good witch and uses her powers to turn Luke back into a Human and repeats the process with Bruno?
Franki Selby Yes, I remember the Grand High Witch's secretary turned Luke back into a kid at the end. She did that because of turning into a good witch and feeling sorry for what happened to him. (Of course, after the Grand High Witch didn't invite her to the banquet, she said out loud to herself "I quit" either quitting being the Grand High Witches secretary, or quitting being a bad witch). However, I have a feeling she was a good witch all along because if you see the video clip titled "8/10 Good Lord", as Luke is being transformed from a kid to a mouse, she was giving an angry look or a sorry look feeling bad that Luke is being turned into a mouse while the other witches are happy and laughing. (I don't remember her repeating the process on Bruno since it never showed it in the movie unless it was a deleted scene because after she turned Luke back into a kid, she drove away with Luke and his grandmother waving her goodbye and the movie ended there).
***** And maybe after she was holding Luke's mouth open for the Grand High Witch to put the mouse MouseFormula84 in, was it? I don't know, but she looked like was pretending to laugh, but then she was looking at Luke, thinking "I'm so sorry, my dear boy". She looks as though she loves children. It's as though as if she was gently doing it and not too roughly like what the other witches would do.
First of all, why on EARTH would you decide to doze off while you have a baby in a pram at the top of a steep hill? Something as silent as a strong breeze could cause the pram to roll away. The mother of the baby is the most irresponsible of all in this scene. I understand that things happen (involuntarily dozing off) but you could have picked a flatter place to initially rest at least! I never understood that part of this scene.
Bad mothering.
Exactly, this scene makes no sense since no mother would sleep and let their baby in such a risk place like that. But back in the days they just wanted to show how evil that witch is
Well, not only that, but the Grand High Witch did an equally stupid thing and pushed the baby RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS MOTHER. Witches aren't supposed to get caught; that was Roald Dahl's point on how dangerous they are in the book. That mother could have reported her to the authorities and she risks getting arrested and exposed as a witch, putting all other witches in jeopardy. The Grand High Witch is MUCH smarter than this.
I just think this was a really dumb chase scene. It's frustrating that he makes it right to his grandma but gets captured anyway, and the witches all risked getting caught by chasing him. Whoever wrote this movie should have stuck with the way this scene was written in the book.
because it's a movie you twit.
StrongRex It looks to me like she pushed the pram and then backed away. So when the mother woke up, she didn't see her and immediately ran after her baby.
It's this moment that the witches go beyond just being typical child-hating monsters in human form and become truly evil. The Grand High Witch clearly shows a concept of good when she plays with the baby....and still pushes the babe down a cliff to lure out Luke. And the other witches are ecstatic about this. They deserved to be mice after this stunt.
Grimoire666 The witches are terrifying. The hotel staff and guests assume these are all restpectable woman. Bruno's dad even calls the grand high witch " a women with compassion." Yet in reality, they are bloodthirsty child killing psychopaths.
It's only a film 🎥 why are you getting so stressed?? These people are only acting that's what you do in a movie , as If the producers would let any harm happen to anyone
@@lisamorris7491 this was a documentary. They should have burnt all witches at the stake before all this p.c. nonsense. They shouldn't be allowed conventions either ffs
Evil wicked grand high witch wouldn't have respect for a Berengeur Realistic Girl Doll baby created by JC Toys. I adore my doll, and love her. Of course I have the Pretty In Pink La Newborn Doll that anatomically correct like a real baby girl. I named her Felicity. She is a very pretty and wonderful doll.
The grand high witch may disrespect a personal belongings or try to do some evil hex because she probably hates the image of baby, too.
Lisa Morris bruh we’re talking about the characters not the movie itself it’s obviously fake but we’re talking about real life situations.
That baby would be 28 years old right now
oh dang
Yep the baby is older than me 😂
the film is 40 years old actually

why didn’t she have gloves tho?, i think they made a mistake there
@@honey2575 umm..no..they didn't. If you didn't read the book or that one scene with the Grand high Witch, all Witches wear gloves (no matter the circumstances) to hide their cat-like/demonic hands away from humans

It's weird to hear a 15 year old utter the phrase "back in the day" When it was 2008
I remember watching this film before you were born lol
When i was a baby, the scene traumatized me. I never forgot it.
The witch at 0:54 wasn't even in the meeting what the heck is she doing out there screaming all excited like "A baby in a pram!"
lol ikr
Maybe she was late to the meeting.

I kinda like how some witches are still in their outfits throughout the whole film, it kinda makes them more identical despite not having a name. Like you can see and remember one in an burnt orange sweater and black gloves later on in the film
the witch in the orange sweater is actually called "Nicola Cutle."
@@bazla123 There's names for the witches? That is very interesting
@@Mad-Hatter-ison there is yes. You can the names on wiki or on the villains wiki. Nicola even introduces herself to the grand high witch ( eva Ernst)
This scene is just as scary as the ones where we see Bruno get turned into a mouse, hear the story about Erica, and see the Grand Hire Witch take off her mask....

Honestly those baby sounds are so cute and adorable.😘
"A baby in a pram!"

Nice 😊
0:11-0:15, the witch in the silver/white outfit looks like she is going to a 70s night club.
love that witch, I wish she would've been at the meeting.
Liger595 Well, the movie was dated on 1990s. And the book sets in the mid 80s so I think that 70s outfit was 2 decades old.
😂
When the woman said "baby in a pram" was she one of the witches?
Calvin Millward idk if she was a witch she wasn’t at the meeting she was such a random character only in that one scene lol
*i love how the women is just like*

Hmm... 100 strange women chasing after a little kid, and nooooo one else around to see this? lmao I love this movie!
That baby is soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo cute 🤩
As a child, I didn't realise that the woman at 0:54 was a witch. I thought she was just a really oblivious bystander! :D
Looking at the clip, even though the Grand High Witch uses the baby as a distraction; the way she plays with the baby nearly made me believe she kinda has a soft side to infants (Key word Kinda)
Maybe there's a little part of her that loves children, anyway it's one of my headcanons
Lots of predators play with their food before they kill it. It has nothing to do with liking the pray, it’s just teasing & amusing. She obviously has a lot of distaste for the baby as she is holding her nose because of the smell.
When I grow up I will take so much care of my baby that baby is so cute

The expression on the witch that pops in the top right corner at 1:19 hahahahahaha
Just saw that and instantly cracked up😂
I became a parent 2 months ago. Just watched this movie for the first time and was like "HOLY SHIT" at this scene.
foxhound13 congrats!!!🎉

It's acting 🙄 duh
00:28 that sweet and evil smile
So growing up the witches never scared me, but this scene. Man I started bawling cause I was so afraid for that baby
Plot twist: 0:53 she isn't even a witch, she's just random hotel guest thrilled to be watching an infant zoom by to it's gruesome death.
*You can tell that baby was having a great time falling down that hill!*
*I bet he wanted to go again.*
Angelica houston is my favorite character of the movie
I love the book and the movie although the real face of the grand high witch was even scarier in the movie than the book.
just curious after seeing to her baby why does that lady not wonder why those Women are chasing that boy ? or does she ? shame it was never explored .
Friday wiggly Bhai
Harr123 the grand high witch stepped back behind her and the mother didn’t pay attention she probably didn’t notice it was her that pushed her off
Harr123 she is stupid enough to leave her baby on the edge of a cliff and doze off, why wouldn’t she be stupid enough not to notice the lady pushing her baby.
I've spent a great deal of time reading up on the occult and watching horror films;
This is hands down the scariest film I have ever seen.
1:19 on the right hahaha
I remember that scene so hard😢😭😢😭
i love when luke saving the baby
Seriously. Anjelica Houston, German accent, goth outfit… She’s the First Lady D.
Wow, Luke saved that baby, what a really brave boy.
What a cute wee baby
I know right he didn't know what was happening
Do you think or know it's a boy or girl
The way the Grand High Witch is holding her nose while looking at the baby. It looks as if the baby needs a nappy change
Stephanie Prpa Children smell of dogs droppings to witches. So having a dirty or clean nappy makes no difference.
bazla123 True
“Oh a _baby_ in a pram!”
😂
So let me get this straight: After giving the other witches a rage filled speech about only using magic and never getting caught, the grand high witch decides to push a baby carriage down a hill in full view of the mother? Ok then.
The mother was asleep when she pushed the baby pram.
@@bonniestar4707 but she woke up immediately, and the witch was standing behind her laughing. She could have easily been caught.
@@carlosesteves5857 possibly. But the mother was too concerned about saving her baby to identify the witch
The baby was so cute and adorable and beautiful

0:36 up to 1:10 But that’s how they made this movie anyway with Luke saving the baby from falling and dying.
When your with one of your friends, but they didn't put deodorant on: 1:15
Pause at 1:19 and watch the witch with her mouth wide open in the right corner. So creepy!
0:54 I lost my shit at that part.
When the grand witch pushed the baby down the hill, it scared the heck out of me as a kid.
the first time I watch it was amazing
Anjelica’s beautiful.
0:36 Is this why she wanted Luke to come out of his hiding spot? Oh yes she definitely did this to make Luke come out of his hiding spot. She was going to turn him into a mouse.
Angelica looks incredible
Oh Thank you Luke for saving the babies life🙏
0:31 even though I watch the scene in the movie, so many times it still leaves me suspenseful
With that cute little Angels face
What I never understood. The Grand High Witch says in the earlier scene "Witches work only with magic!" Which is why they are never caught. But pushing a baby over a cliff isn't using magic, it would be murder.
It drew Luke out and that was her aim, they use magic to kill children yes, but not in blatant daylight where many humans could see it, they use magic to do their work but will convert to less conventional methods if need be
No People watch it except the Other witches so, it was a decent opportunity :)
I love how luke Stop the baby in Pram!
Oh Thank you Luke for saving the baby life
I think the actress playing the witches to cheer on the baby almost getting killed in this scene must have felt bad while they were reading the script
she knew Luke would be her murderer. They know everything. But they would like to play with babies..
I watched this before in school in 3 grade so funny in wtr
Moral of this scene: No good deeds go unpunished
And never a rotten deed is punished enough :/
If the mom had woken up sooner, the Grand High Witch would have given herself away by standing over the baby and holding her nose. The mom would have been like, "Oh, I'm sorry, does he need a diaper change?" Then, after seeing that he doesn't, the mom would be like "Why did she think my baby stunk when his diaper was clean? Could she be a witch?"
good point
Well, no, because she wouldn't have known children smell horrible to witches. That isn't common knowledge. The grandmother only knows because she was a witch hunter.
+Phil Sadler OR (this is my own theory) The grandmother was actually a witch that had a change of heart, like the grand high witches secretary
+Icecream 5572 Dahl needed to write a prequel... The Grand High Witch story needs to be told.
Britney Grey I know! Too bad it can't happen now. 😞😔
This kinda reminds me of "Battleship Potemkin" and "The Untouchables" - am I the only one?
It reminds me of the pram scene in the untouchables. Yes.
I saw Battleship Potemkin in this scene a bit.
who on earth puts their babys pram and the top of a steep hill?
darren pat idk i guess she just didn't expect someone to try and murder it
KenzoTenma _ no, a gust of wind or someone accidently knocking into it.
Katie Bayliss No, the Grand High Witch was responsible for this circumstances.
Herman 111 No, even If GHW didn't push it it could still easily have rolled down.
Katie Bayliss Look at her hands at 0:35 and she was the one who pushed the baby pram off to the steep hill.
Nice catch luke 👍👍
0:36 She did this so Luke could come out and they could catch him and turn him into a mouse!
I always found this scene funny I don't know why
Yeah, especially the fat witch that gets all excited: "A baby, in a praaam , ohohoho!" It's hilarious

Luke is the HERO When he saves that baby from going over the cliff
To run full speed down a hill in heels and not fall once, that mother was not playing about her baby!
Adrenaline
Like any good owner of a wheeled object: LOCK IT UP. We can't have it rolling away while we have our backs turned for one second.
That baby will be 32 years old now, anyone know who he/she is ? One of my favourite childhood movies
Ooh he lived, parents should watch him.
I'm 34 and still can't watch this scene. It's terrifying.
Who would do such a thing to push a baby while crying down the hill!
This gave me weaknesses of seeing babies in EVERY movie
Way the go, Luke and run!!!!!
It's weird how when he jumps off the hills the witches stick out their arms. Like they can get him from that far.
Love it one of my favorites
I mean, if you put a trolley on top of a hill at the beach the wind might push it into sea by itself

The lady who played The Grand High Witch, did she did voice of the evil witch Gothel from Barbie as Rapunzel?
Sadie Jennings yes, Anjelica did the voice of Gothel in Barbie as Rapunzel in 2002
