    Just had to send a Matrice 300 in to DJI for service a couple months ago. I read all kinds of horror stories online about how bad DJI's customer service and service experiences had been for people. Thankfully I had nothing but excellent care from all departments. The drone was still in the warranty period and they replaced it with another unit without question. It was about three weeks from shipping to receiving back. I can definitely understand that without a backup that kind of timeframe could kill your business. Glad there was a repair shop you could take it to personally and have a quick turnaround on it.

    • @WW5RM
      @WW5RM Год назад

      Yeah! Even after reading all the horror stories about DJI, I had a Air2S that for some reason the altimeter went nuts and ended up in the water! They replaced it. I forget exactly but in a week or so had a new Air2S!
      I'm not far from their Dallas repair center which is a plus.

    A month ago, my Air 2S shut off when it was landing. Fell about 40 ft onto concrete. Battery was at 60%. Top and bottom shell both cracked up pretty bad. Also damaged one of the sensors. I had just bought a DJI RC controller and only had 7 flights on it. My brother in law replaced the broken pieces but was still getting error messages on the sensors. Sent it away for repair. Any thought why this happened??

  • @mjklein
    @mjklein Год назад

    If I understand what you said and showed in the footage, you're suggesting that an accessory device came off the mounting rails while the drone was banking to the left. Then the device fell to the right. While that sounds counter-intuitive (i.e. falling upwards) it makes sense that the air stream would push it to the right. Did I understand that correctly? New drone owner here. Thanks.

    I have two DJI mavic 3 The only way the insurance is worth it is if you end up having a flyaway and you can't find the drone. I spent more with the insurance because I had to purchase insurance at 300 for two year and extra year if you don't use the first two and pay the deductible. Without paying the insurance I just have to pay the deductible which is usually $150 ish depending on the damage they just swap drones out anyways.. cool videos man keep them up never knew people are using drones for hunting deers like this..

  • @PowderMill
    @PowderMill Год назад

    How about buying a Mavic-3 T as a backup AND a secondary drone for use at the same recovery or second concurrent retrieval.??
    Also…
    Please take a look at the AccSoon Cine-Eye-2 paired up with a few iPads mounted in heavy duty cases…
    It takes the HDMI out from your RC and rebroadcasts video/audio to up to 6 mobile devices at up to 1000’.
    The mobile devices run the AccSoon app and it really works incredibly well and is stable and cheap enough.
    We use it as a secondary method of permitting Fire Department incident command etc .. to view what the drone operator is seeing.
    Our primary unit was custom built in-house. Transmits up to a mile, All signals are encrypted and remote viewing terminals are contained in pelican cases.
    Many more features ,.. too much to list.. but the AccSoon is much easier to deploy and a fraction of the cost.
    Thanks for your videos …. Good luck with the drone.
    (ps. We lost a Mavic-2 zoom when the Lume cube lighting brackets failed and took out props. They are a miserable company to deal with and discontinued their drone lighting products.

    Never a good day when your drone falls. I've had a $350k drone fall before as well as an M600 Pro get show with two rounds of bird shot. Thats what insurance is for! Thank you for sharing this. So many people don't fess up to a crash or failure. The harsh reality is none of the commercial off the shelf aircraft we fly are type certified or even have published MTBF for all the important components. It's not if the drone will fall, but when the drone falls. I tell all the students I've taught, be prepared each time you send the drone that it may not come back.I've watched a brand new Phantom 4 Pro have the screws on the propeller mount back out on the aircrafts second flight.

    Had a Matrice 210v2 fall out of the sky after sitting stationary at 250ft. It was near us, and we could hear it revving up as it walked itself forward against our control inputs. Then it fell into the parking lot, destroying itself and its payload of 2 batteries and a z30 camera. We will NEVER spend that much on a drone again, certainly not until DJI can put in some fail-safes and better telemetry that can tell us that it's hurting before it tries to kill someone.

    I heard that State Farm covers drones. I have had mine for over 3 years without a problem. I was in a vacant parking lot, no cars around flying about 20' to run the battery down. There was a wire from one light pole to another. I looked up and it looked like I hit a buzzard.
    I looked down at my iPad and saw it on the ground. It had a broken ND filter and the front left collision sensor was damaged along with two props. I stopped at my State Farm's office and showed the lady what had happened. She started the claim and told me to send them the bill for repairs. DJI sent me a brand new drone. The cost for repair from DJI (Fort Worth) was $245.00.
    I told State Farm to put my house and both vehicles on a policy. I saved $ 1,200 per year with them over my old insurance carrier.
    When ever the weather gets better I want to go flying again.

Edited to add: Not that it’s an expensive drone but I JUST “RE-insured” an Air 2S for full replacement value..just so I have it covered. My DJI ‘ Care Refresh had expired Dec 1st and I went with a “Personal Articles” policy of $1K and the premium is very reasonable, only $75 a YEAR…NO deductible. Sure, it’s not a Mavic 3T or an Autel model but it’s peace of mind nonetheless. The ONLY thing I’m not covered for is repair..

    Have not watched this yet but from the previews I can say , this is my experience , I have had a bunch of drones shot out of the sky , I had heliopera come right afterwards and a bunch of police cars going crazy in my hood. I accidentally took my drone higher than 200 ft and I happen be in the most tightly watched airspace in the country well one of them. know where I was? Anyway. they shot them down with something , I 'm going up , up and about 400 ft, as I'm looking at a beautiful skyline as it's getting dark and I see the city, my drone wobbles and winds up hard then 30 seconds later it literally falls falls right onto a neighbors back deck and explodes, not on file but my phantom literally is in a thousand pieces. The neighbor comes out of the house but is not sure what happens,. a helicopter shows up about 5 minutes later and about 5 cop cars start driving around my hood ,, all crazy ,, fast then slow looking and driving in Alleys ,, I said oh she and rolled out. I repeated the same thing about 2 weeks later and got the same result./. That was about 6 hundred and some dollars. I just had destroyed , man I'm hard headed.

    this is an absolute joke, he refuses to accept that its something with the drone or fc, who knows, but i like the first response is, we have a light in stock , still trying to sell upgrades . what a bunch of garbage. i will never own a dji drone. i use there v2 googles for my own builds, but the prices are absolute predatory to anyone who has common sense and can build, good luck with that man

    Now don't get all silly on us.
    Honey… If somebody shot it. You would see a hole somewhere in the plastic. Or it's what took the arm off? Did you hear a gunshot? You think he was a long-range sniper with a scope?
    Out there in,, Boomy Ville. I doubt. Somebody is sitting around all day. Waiting for you. To fly your, drone. As they are used to waiting for, ducks. Granted that. So it's possible. Then they hit the leg. Off it went. Like a plane going down in flames.
    But yeah that was a total bummer. Regardless of how it happened. It's not fun. Dropping something so costly. And why you should just switch to a,, DJI or Autel. For, $1500-$2500. And then you won't throw yourself in front of the next bus.. And nobody's going to know. Tell them you're using, that one. No, honest. They'll never be the wiser..
    Audio is strangely that way, also. Which is what i Have been specializing in as a career for the past, 50+ years. As I cannot quite discern. When I actually started? I could say, 8 years old. But at the same time. My first technical leap was,, at 12. By, 15. I had a 2 day per week show, to do. At the, Community College of Baltimore. At 15. Or was it the, multimillion dollar, recording studio complex? When I was 17. But then again. Becoming the overnight, FM DJ. For then, Baltimore's, #1 Progressive Album Rock, station. When I was 19. And one of the youngest. To hold that position. For a #1 rated station. In a major market such as Baltimore. And that was a gas and a, half! But then maybe it was when I was, 22? When I designed and built from scratch. Baltimore's second largest, music and commercial production, recording studio, production facility. And not just the acoustics. I designed and built. A large frame custom audio console. Requiring a custom-built, cabinet to house it in. And 10 feet long with a Producers, desk. And weighed in at, a couple hundred pounds. For the cabinet. And it was an enormous undertaking. Since, I had no training, to do that. From an academic background. None, zero, zip, nada. I'm just a stable genius. And I know one who's not. We all do. Some even voted for him. And I hope have, buyer's remorse..
    Oh. And later. By 1981. I thought myself to be a large asset. To NBC-TV Engineering in, Washington, DC. Where I spent the next 20 years. And the last 30. With my formerly, Audio & Video, Production Facility. In a, 25,000 pound, Mercedes-Benz, diesel box truck.. With 2 control rooms and a, machine room. And ancillary storage area and kitchenette. With audio and video playback systems. In each of the 3, soundproofed rooms. Separated by solid core, wood doors. Which get left open most of the time. But for the few occasions I needed it. I'm like Scotty from Star Trek. Only in a studio. With hundreds of knobs and dials, meters and monitors of all sorts. And can be quickly reconfigured. For a variety of audio and video recording, purposes. To fulfill the clients requirements. And up to, 48 tracks of, simultaneous recording. And it's a monster! Or was. Prior to a pandemic. When I figured after 30 years. With my studio. It was time to, retire. The virus provided me with a clue. As I'm now 67. And not the man I used to be. In fact. Not a man anymore, at all. But also no competition to, Caitlyn Jenner. If ya follow?
    Yeah but how can anybody do all that without a degree? I'm just naturally, a super intelligent, brainiac. And stable genius. And happened to have a knack. For what I do. Very well. Which is, twiddle a bunch of knobs and dials. And act like I know, what I'm doing. As I'll get the hang of this, one of these days. Before I fall over, dead.
    I think I fell asleep while writing this. As its almost 5:30 AM.

    You should have bought the drone the guy had sitting on the shelf and you'd be working the same night and you'd have an extra drone I understand they're expensive but I run a business plowing snow and I have 2 plow trucks because one might go down and believe me my plow truck costs more than your $20000 drone. I also have to mowers, this is your business, right? So if I was you I'd seriously look into another drone it a write off. I'm just saying deer season is only weeks long you only have days literally to make you money.

      @Drone Deer Recovery I would assume in a job like that 2 drones would pay for them self especially during deerr season.

    You pissed off another hunter and they shot it down. You probably messed up his hunt. Just because your done hunting don't mean everyone else is.

      Drone malfunction - no-one 'shot' it out of the sky - which is very illegal just for reference.
