It’s been a while since we saw some of your awesome painting videos on RUclips. I miss them.
Glad you like them! Keep painting Josephine.
Thankyou Alain from Australia.
I truly think you are the best painter as well as instructor on You Tube! I watch your vids over and over and catch a slightly different twist each time! I think your mark making is stellar and should be a course in itself! Your signature style is strong and aggressive and I bear you in mind when I paint! Thanks for the “real stuff”🥇❤️🔥
Hey thanks for the very kind comments, that means alot! Keep going, I'm so glad you are inspired to be bold and loose!

Thank you Alain! A tremendous start of a lovely painting! I am intrigued by the selection of pastels before you even started making your marks! I am looking forward to watching part 2 along with the rest of your viewers! I also appreciate the content here on RUclips! I know that you are quite busy with your paying customers and creating a living with your art! Wishing you and your family a happy holiday season!
my pleasure Michael!
New video? I’m so excited!
I'm so excited that YOU are excited!
Thank you Alain for your encouragement and amazing demonstration videos. So grateful to be able to take your classes, Happy Thanksgiving!
I just wanted to add that your techniques are amazing, just how the vine charcoal does not snap into pieces, I end up with several smaller pieces when I use it, I had better work on my heavy hand syndrome! Not even sure that is a thing! But that’s what I am going to call it! So many lovely marks when you change to the pastel sticks! See you soon for pt.2!
I have snapped many a stick of vine charcoal, it's easy to do! But developing a lighter hand is a good practice in pastel. All the best Michael!
So very glad to see this new YT video!! Looking forward to Pt 2 and more.
I took your "Painterly Landscape" course this Fall and really enjoyed, and gained so many valuable skills & tools. Happy to the lifetime access to that course too; and the great community. But for those that are on fixed/limited incomes, so great to see your YT content back again. Thanks so much. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Great to hear from you, and thanks for the kind words. I wish you all the best in your continued growth as an artist, keep painting!
I look forward to painting this, thanks for posting the demo. I like the toned paper, mind saying what brand/grit it is?
Pastelmat Dark Grey Mike. It's not a grit, but a great surface.
Thank you Alain! Another fabulous demo! Looking forward to Part 2. So kind of you to share your knowledge. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Yaaaaaaay!!!! Hope you and your family had a lovely Thanksgiving! Amazing tutorial commander. Thanks for showing the importance of thumbnail sketches. I always got in trouble for not doing these when I was an illustration major🤪 They’re soo important!! The value framework. Thanks 🙏 Alain
So exciting! Thank you so much, Alain, for being an ongoing blessing to other artists, a never ceasing encouragement! Can't wait to paint along! Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks Anita, that means alot! Enjoy this and look forward to Part 2 next week, many blessings to you!
