On the August Bank Holiday weekend in 1993, Semple Stadium Thurles held the fourth of its Feile Music festivals. Filmed outside of the stadium, this footage from the streets of Thurles gives us a great snapshot of both time and place. There was an eclectic line up of acts over the three day festival, from bands like INXS and Iggy Pop to Chris De Burgh and Mary Black. It also saw the first appearance by up and coming Limerick band, The Cranberries.

Fantastic times I was there in 92 to 94 best times ever. ps the 90 Sierra at approximately 19 minutes is an unmarked garda car
3rd and 5th thanks for this xx
I did that bungee jump…from this perspective the crane looks like something you might fish out of a lucky bag, glad it didn’t keel over, I recall it was a long way down 🙄
I own bits off that blue Ford Sierra at 18:53 🤣🤣
I rememmber (all but how to spell it) climbing up an ESB pole outside the creamery and jumping straight down onto the roof of my Renault 5 to impress some girls from galway. They just walked away(( I eventually got the roof pushed back up and I got a new windscreen when I got the money saved up. Mighty weekend)))))))
Did you try talking to them first?
