    You offering study notes AND an audio link (not to mention the video itself) is just so generous. Thank you.

    Explaining to patients in simple terms like this goes a long way.

    Very helpful. I’m taking Levofloxacin and was not informed of the risk nor was anything said by my doctors when I indicated I had developed Achilles Tendinopathy.

    I was trying to research effectiveness of ESWT as a layman (but a pro at Achilles injuries), but only had a particular brand and did not know the more general term. Thanks!

      There numerous collagen powders available. Please take the hydrolized variant. Gelatine may also help

    but what can we do to heal this ?

  • @MissMal92
    @MissMal92 Год назад +5

    It's very tender, back of heel. I wear flip flops 95% of the time- so, not from shoes. For baby years in the morning the pain presents then dissipate shortly after. but now it's gotten extremely painful in a very short amount of time for seemingly no reason. 😢

      Flip flops can definitely harm your feet-they offer no support! Hoping you’ve healed up in this time 🙏

    I don't have any pain around the heel area where the tendon is but the part just below where the calf muscle inserts feels weird. That's also part of the achilles tendon though right?

    I have had this for about a month. All I was doing was my usual stretches. Dr claims it’s just tendinitis. I’ve been wearing a boot for a week. Didn’t seem to help too much. Not sure if I tore something 😓

      @@lilhuntxd finally, yes.. took a good 3-5 months.. weeks in the boot, followed by babysitting it. Now I take collagen and I’m getting back into “light” stretches. It’s too easy to tear this area. I know several ppl who have.

    Heel raises didnt work for me. Caused my achilles to get very stiff, and led to plantar fascitis.

    I had Achilles tendinitis, and it took me nine months to recover through a combination of rehabilitation exercises, a balanced diet, vitamin D supplements, high-protein intake commonly used in bodybuilding, and intense kilometers of walking.

    Thank you. My daughter (who is only 11) has mid-portion tendonitis, she is doing the Ice and trying to rest it up (but, as I said, she's 11, so your mileage may vary on that......😉) so I'll mention the ESWT (and watch her recoil in horror, probably) as a possibility.

      I'm 30 and had achilles tendonitis 3 days ago on sunday. It hurt just stepping off a curb and the whole tendon up my calf muscle was sore and weak but I still ran on it on Monday. Now it's Wednesday and it feels back to normal. What I did was apply cold and hot to it multiple times every day. No need to reduce work load. Just take care of it on the days when you're not training.

    An Achilles injury is different because if you’re not moving it, you won’t heal properly. Don’t be afraid to massage the hell out of it and rub the knots out. It’s going to hurt but if you do it right, it’s healing. Rehab is painful if you’re doing it right.

      Ditto that....massage gun healed my mid section tendonopathy, but R insertional tendonopathy is hanging around and proofing hard to treat (now doing heat packs and massage.....slowly improving so it might get there. 58 YO male btw.....been an issue for about some years (life long runner)
