Why is this particular bend so difficult for most amateur drivers? Most footage is of this bend of the circuit. Is it due to the bend before this one? Most drivers steer in way too late or go too fast
@@nicholaschip5820 - Yep. And very few drivers can afford to drive 50 or 100 laps to learn the tricky bits. Watching compilation videos gives a false impression of the circuit; it highlights the hazards AFTER drivers have fallen foul of them. It just goes to show that the majority of drivers are incapable of controlling their own cars. The majority who cannot read the road and plough straight into the grass is remarkable.
It's incredible that even after watching so many videos, there are people who go to the track and have no idea what to do when they get into trouble. However, a driving technique training can do wonders and would improve their knowledge a lot. For example, many people fall off the track in that narrow left-hander, yet only a few have the sense to return to the track not from the very high curb, but where the curb ends, because then their already damaged car won't be damaged further. The closest return were the silver Audi (1 meter) and the black Fiesta (0,5 meter).

Fast car, driver with low knowledge of the track. Recipe for stuff like this. It does go from fast to really slow, this is where most drivers misjudge how sharp the corner is. Easily prevented by not driving on the limit of your car in the first place
This section (Adenauer Forst) comes after Fuchsröhre (Foxhole) which is one of the fastest parts of the track where one may even max out their vehicle. Adenauer Forst is made of 3 corners, the first one has an entrance speed of about 75mph but the second and third corners being filmed here have a much lower entry speed. People new to The Ring make mistakes here because due to a crest, you cannot see the hard left until you're on top of it.
I will never understand why when cars go off at Adenauer people will re-enter the track over the curbing instead of going past it first. Sometimes that second scrape is worse!
Critics of all the drivers getting things crossed-up, sideways, too fast and wrong should remember that this place got the nickname 'The Green Hell' for a reason. Yes, it looks easy on Misha's RUclips videos, but it's a long, long lap, and it can catch ANYONE out, especially when the weather turns nasty. (It does that a lot.) As has already been said in other Comments, this particular corner is notorious because it's at the end of some fast, sweeping, exciting sections. Only experience will tell you when to back off. And it's a public road, not a racetrack. Conditions can be weird. Sometimes the rain only falls on a quarter-mile section between the trees. Sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes there's oil down. Sometimes the flag-marshals see it. Sometimes they don't. You never know if there's mud and gravel on the racing line. Is it brake fade, is it people underestimating, or just not knowing, how tight that corner is, is it people drastically over estimating their own skill level and the abilities of their car? I just don't understand how this continues to happen and why they allow just anyone on the Nordschleife. It blows my mind.
Not brake fade, people just underestimate the low speed after such a high speed section. The corner is sharp and most people think their car is on rails, when it is infact not. Some people also know there's photographers, and want to show off, for example: 6:35. Nordschleife is a legendary track, and has recently become very popular. It's a large track, which means upkeep is high. The fees made by touristenfahrten contribute to this and is an excellent way to make sure the Nordschleife stays legendary. Makes it a dynamic circuit for the drivers in actual races too, since theres so much variation in rubber on the track, it can be slippery when wet. The reason it's still open even though horrible accidents can happen, is well, its germany lol
Mmm i drive very frequent on the Nurburgring, i must say i hit also the gras on this corner and went straight. It had to due with brake faiding and to hot tires after 3 laps, both make the difference. Those corners look very easy, but because they go up hill, you have to very sure when to turn in.
