You two couldn’t be more respectful and delicate with this incredibly difficult situation. I’m so glad I found your channel. I’m twice your age and have learned so much. Thank you!
I love how you embrace the culture you were raised in while also embracing a new religious path from that culture. I inspire to be as kind and understanding as you are in tough times. I love how you said God is not in a box. That is so true. May God continue to bless your family ❤️❤️
Just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed! I spent a couple days in Holmes County a few weeks ago, with the goal of meeting Amish and Mennonite people and learning more about their background, beliefs, way of life, etc. Although my time there was short, I met some very kind people and learned a lot. I also went to a conservative Mennonite church while I was there. They were very welcoming, despite my non-Mennonite clothing! I was originally thinking of going to a nondenominational church in Holmes county that I found online, and I'm wondering if it's the one you go to. It appears that most of the congregation come from a Mennonite and/or Amish background, and their music is really amazing.
You are a wonderful couple! I believe you can follow God and not attach yourselves to a religious group. I don’t judge, but I prefer following people on FB who are Christians, yet I don’t judge the way they worship. I believe you two are a great couple who loves our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I really enjoy your videos!
I was raised a Mennonite here in oregon and no shunning ever happened. Amish r so much more different then Mennonites. We didnt have a Tv untill the time that the astronauts walked on the moon. I am a catholic now.
I just found your channel! God bless you and your family❤️ Please pray for our ministry here in India. We serve homeless families, leper colonies and the beggars. We are very much in need of miracles!
I am blessed by your testimony. When you say Mennonite, what denomination are you referring to within the Mennonite realm? May I ask the name of your church?
Which Mennonite church excommunicated you? Old Order specifically? I think many people who follow you wouldn't understand there are various types of Mennonites. I am sorry to hear that happened. I am glad you were released from it. I am glad that your church has a lot of people you can relate to there. That's very good. I am glad! Thanks for sharing!
I'm new to your channel. What I love about your story is that you only rejected those things in your past that don't comport with scripture. You did not turn your backs on the Christian faith itself. I do have one question. Are you allowed to read the Bible version of your choice or are you required to read the KJV?
I'm curious, then... So in your view--or, even better, in your new church's view--is Christianity and the Bible primarily objective (e.g., about truth, love towards others, righteousness as God defines it and our choice to surrender on His terms or not), or are those subjective (e.g., how each person or family happens to understand the Bible, what they experience or feel spiritually and what parts of that they believe are from God or not)? I suppose another way to ask this would be, "Why are there tens of thousands (and growing) denominations and non-denominations like your new church with contradictory beliefs and practices if there is only one unchanging God (including Jesus and the Holy Spirit) and one Bible that also doesn't change?"
You need to specify what Mennonite group you were with!! It is not fair to just say that you were shunned or excommunicated from a Mennonite church. It gives people a wrong view of the Mennonite church!
I'd like to say "Hi" in person but we are too far away!!! We live in the biggest state in the USA! you are welcome to come and say "Hi" to us and look at some of God's awesome creation,,,,, And we are also "Yoders"! we lived next door to you,,, in Knox county.
Hi.. I’m not familiar with the local congregation you have been shunned/excommunicated from… Since this congregation has released you from the excommunication status, would they say yous are now In a “communal” position with them then?
Yes, they took off the excommunication. But no, to our knowledge we wouldn't be allowed to have Communion with them since we are not a part of their specific denomination.
@@theyoders2019 So, isn't it odd to you that a professing, confessing, baptized believer wouldn't be allowed to share in the holy and sacred sharing of communion, simply because they were not a member a particular denomination? This would definitely be anti-Biblical, imo, and rather "cultish", not to mention narrow-minded. At the very least it is uncharitable and ungenerous. The verses in 1 John that place an imperative on "loving your brother" clearly teach against this kind of exclusive mentality. "If someone says "I love God", and yet hates his brother, he is a liar, because the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom He has not seen. And this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God, MUST love his brother also". 1 John 4 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. The one who does not love, does not know God, for God is love". 1 John 4 "No one has beheld (thoroughly seen) God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us and His love is perfected (realized, accomplished) in us". 1 John 4 What do you say?

Thank you for your honesty, I find your journey interesting. It is not easy taking a different path when others do not understand.

Just forgive, no more onto on hurts, and move on. There are biblical bodies of Mennonites with whom you would be welcomed.
AI hijacked my post.

In a comment below they say they were Old Order Mennonite.
Please stop saying "if that makes sense". It is an unnecessary repeat and detracts from what you are trying to share.❤
Thank you for pointing that out to us!
