Can you do a comparison of Verstappen vs Perez? Like where is he losing the time? Is he having trouble with the oversteery setup that max likes.

My guess is Checo is losing a little bit all over. Oversteery cars are fast cars. Some people just deal better with them than others.
Actually, Perez just is not that good.
Max’s lap at the end was unbelievable. 1.3 secs to Perez and half a second to lando.

These are a great way to see how the top 3 played out, personally think it is better than the official F1 comparison.

Can't wait for you to analyze Max his recovery drive after that first late pitstop in the race today. How he gained on Checo and left the rest in his dust as if they were looking for a parking spot... IN-FUCKING-SANE seeing those seconds fly off the gap to the leader (Checo) who's in the same machine! 😱
No question the RB is the best car on the grid BUT I don't think it is truly dominant like the Mercedes were. In that era we had Mercedes 1-2 no matter what, barring some event or mechanical issue. Of course Perez could just be that bad, but I really think Verstappen is just that good and is extracting everything the car can offer. Qualifying shows that in particular.

Great video. Max maintains more speed through the corners, but you can also see his Honda surge out of corners compared to the two Mercedes powered cars.

Its a shame zandvoort circuit got butchered in 1989. by half the length , and selling a large portion of the grounds to centerparks . if it still had its original grounds and layout they could have done a much larger circuit maintaining most of the old track and adding extra inner tracks .
Needs brake and acceleration reflected. Otherwise we are watching slot cars

I’m guessing it’s the difference in setup. RB set theirs front biased and McL rear. MB is rear biased with strong front wing. Not the car’s characteristic, but the strategist’s analysis and plan.
Max messes up turn 1 and is first out on a drying track and still dominates.
Should’ve add Albono into this video 😂
And Max would have set an even faster time if he didn't mess up turn 1.

Don't discount McLaren, it's a pretty quick car for qualifying. Max is just on another level when it comes to race day.
Yea but Max was easily the best today. The speed he carried in some corners compared to lando was wild considering the mclaren is very good in the corners.
Actually lando said that he wasn’t his best after sector one and you can see that Russell also gained quite a bit of time on him in sector 2 and 3. The mclaren actually seems to be within a tenth or 2 of the redbull if you take a look at the whole qualifying. Lando just couldn’t put the lap together at the end.
But fastest lap was on Alonso 😒
Straight line speed is where he wins it
Which is for a part the result of his positioning for optimal acceleration out of the corner.
Because he is good at corner exits.
So he gains most of the time in the slow to medium speed corners, but somehow its all because of straight line speed?

People need to stop comparing max to perez . Perez has become absolute garbage now for some reason . Put some one like daniel and leclerc in that car and we will see who wins.
Would rather see a Alonso or Hamilton next to him. Daniel went to Renault when he realized Max was faster. That was a few years ago, Max even got better now. And LeClerc is quick over one lap but far from championship material imho.
Maybe Albon is the most realistic option for 2024.

totally unproved assumption ! what you can tell is how much time he left in the first corner to not compromise his lap how high he went in turn 3 banking and how quickly he rotates the car compared to Russel and Norris .
you can clearly see his line is inside on the corners apexes ,and outside before and after the apexes meaning he carries more speed ,turn faster and can accelerate stronger .Totally unrelated to the PU ,even if the MGUK would give more oomph than the others he would still be significantly faster than them without it !
@@calgar42k are you supervising FIA? This is an entertainment business. No longer a sport. All teams are in it. It is a show. Whoever is most marketable gets to decide the narrative. It is about making heroes and idles for the young generation to latch on. I’m part of it and tired of it.
Max is just so far beyond any driver in todays line up. Hamilton is proving how much he really sucks and has zero skills in F1. It was luck all those years.
Wtf? Hamilton has been killing it this season. He got unlucky by going a fast lap too early at the end of Q2, honestly more of the team’s fault for not telling him to wait until another lap. They were damn near even back in 2021 with roughly equal performance cars (Newey even said the RB was faster over the whole season). Only problem is Max kept crashing into him and race control basically stole the championship from Lewis in Abu Dhabi. Lewis out drove Alonso in his rookie season age 22, that alone tells you his abilities.
But yes, Max is on an incredible tear. I genuinely think Lewis, Alonso, and Max would be quite close in the same cars, they’re all a tier ahead.
I don't agree with either of you. Hamilton is still a good driver just not so great in traffic and without the fastest car he is finding it difficult. I wonder if his confidence (in himself and the team) is starting to erode now that results are not what he is used to.
