It could be that Roger knew about sky islands existing, skypea isn't the only one. So he just went after the right cloud formation. 3. Oden killed the boar to defend someone directly. That was no immediate need to kill Nola.
oden is the perfect example of how dreams can become reality. most of the people in one piece doesn't have any slightest idea one piece. they didn't even believe if it was real of not. but here oden someone from a closed country set sail with whitebeard, roger and actually found the one piece
