Why Freeman would leave ND is beyond stupid. Even if they don’t win the championship you’ll have the top college recruits going there for the next few years anyway. Why leave a good thing just to be fired in 3 years.
Lions fan here and I'm calling AG to the Saints now, and its the one I'm most concerned about from a competitive standpoint down the road in terms of Dan Campbell coaching tree Please just let him go to the AFC
You think teams just call Pep up like "Pep, you know the drill. We'll take you to a mighty fine steakhouse. Whatever and however much you want. Whaddya say?"
Aaron Glenn knows that Patriots got heat for making a mockery of the Rooney Rule so he declined because he knows the interview is bullshit publicity. And just because a team wants a coach doesn’t mean the coach will choose the team 🤷🏾♂️ why tf would Ben Johnson coach the Patriots if their team is 2 years away “at best” for a roster rebuild. Patriots and Mike V makes sense but he also has better options.
Maybe because the Patriots have a franchise Quarterback who’s seen around the league as a top 3-5 QB in the coming years, have a top 4 pick in the draft, have 130 million in cap space, and have an ownership that is easy to work with? The Patriots are easily one of the top destinations for coaches around the league
How do you know it's a mockery? What if they or their agents requested to get interviews so they could get their names out in the NFL Sphere again. Isn't that what the spirit of the rule is to get minority coaches names talked about and potentially hired even if it isn't for HC.
Ben Johnson going to the Raiders kind of reminds me when Kyle Shanahan agreed to coach the Niners. He was given a team where he had a lot of control and had no pressure to win right away and the leeway to build something. That team didn’t have a QB either. If Ben Johnson takes a coaching job I would think that’s the best fit for him because there won’t be any expectations out of the gate. If he goes to a team like Chicago he’ll be expected to succeed with Caleb Williams instantly. Even going to the Patriots he’d have more pressure to win now
Raiders are always in a win now strategy that is the problem with the organization they are paying 3 former coaches and 3 former gms thats not a good organization.
As a ND fan I don't want Freeman going anywhere. However as a Bears fan that's who I want as their next head coach. I don't know what happened after that Hail Mary in Washington but that game broke the Bears. The Bears had a talented enough roster that they should've made the playoffs but their season fell apart after that game. I hate the phrase but they say their looking for a leader of men well I don't know a better resume bullet point than what he's done with ND this season.
