I’ve seen a lot of other reactions skipped over the “reincarnate reach nirvana” line but love that you guys really went in on that. Ren says “kill the one upon the cross” too, which is followed up by Jesus’ resurrection in the bible, and what it represents is absolving people of sin and giving them a fresh start. Given the social and political commentary of Ren’s music, my guess is that he’s saying if only we could wipe the slate clean and start again, the corruption would be stamped out and we could all be at peace with ourselves and each other

Ya know, first listen to this I wasn't feeling it, but after going over it several times, listening directly to the lyrics & then applying it to the previous & next verse, comparing that against the flow reference, lyrical reference, beat reference I really get this now... This is up there with Crucify Your Culture for Ren... In particular, he's speaking of KRS 1 & also Muhammad Ali (listen to his political speech, not the boxer) - it's time to stop being Masochists & being ok with the harm inflicted by those in power...
As you said because you both know rens story and background you understand his struggles as well as his perception of things way more than others. So for those who are Ren fans already they will GET IT, but for people who never heard Ren before this is unlikely to onboard you on the Ren journey.
