Hello, my doc is traditional type if u can say it like that. Over 70yrs old, experienced and very appreciated dentist in our area. He doesn't like this type of indirect fabrication with plastic. He prefer wax-ONLY modeling and casting. Im having issues with tiny canals to get the wax out without breaking but still to be perfect impression of it. Any tips you can give me? I am searching for video with wax modeling for quite time, but couldnt find any with whole process. Thanks
Any feedback from dentists on use of glass ionomer to reglue post and crown. I struggled to find dentist in Thailand that had this. Lasted 4 years but needs reglueing again. Also ideas on fine fracture way deep in that is being ignored at this stage. Does the glass ionomer support the fracture at all? And how well does glass ionomer stop decaying from occuring. Last one. is blackening of the tooth structure a cause for concern or purely aesthetic. Cheers . Merry Xmas all
While taking impression after finishing post-core buildup by direct method, won't that structure comeup with impression?how to prevent that or it won't come(which probably i don't think)????
That is only the pattern which is casted in metal or it can be even made in ceramic…the final lab fabricated customised post has to be cemented/bonded in the post space that is created…after that the impression is made
My Dentist only does indirect method. Is the fracture rate higher on these post cores. Never had one done before today. Maybe because not alot ot tooth was left this is the best way. Or my Dentist is old and does not do direct method. Kind of wish I knew he was going to do it indirectly. Might have went for another opinion. Not worried about the extra time it takes But is one better than the other?
Both procedures give similar results in my opinion...fracture rate depends on many factors which im sure your dentist has taken into consideration and decided to give the tooth a chance.
Direct doesn’t have any superiority to indicate. I dislike direct. Needs a lot of chair time. Why waste time when you can get similar or even better results with indirect?

Ιs there any danger in the indirect way, eg the silicon stays in the root canal?
Not if u do it the right way…lubricate the canal well and prepare it properly without undercuts
