- Apologies for the lack of videos, the fish have just not been playing along. Hopefully today, the fish are biting and we end our donut streak. This afternoon, we are here at Hays Inlet in Clontarf chasing flathead on the Zman 3inch Slim Swimz in trusty motor-oil colour. Its quite windy here today, so we are using slightly heavier 1/4oz jighead to cast against the wind. We are the first ones here, so lets get straight into it!
If you enjoyed the video, please leave a like and comment. Thanks for watching - the support is greatly appreciated. Cheers!

Thanks mate for taking us along with you. Great catch as well. Take care
Hey Peter, thank you for joining me! Hope to take you guys fishing to more trips (if the fish co-operate) 👍
Terrific catch Jason, flathead are my estuary favourite. Good to see you posting again, keep them coming, legend.
Hey Garry, thanks and it was also a delicious feed! I only can fish on the weekends due to work, so I like to get at least one fishing session during the weekend, even up to 3 sessions. I always hope the fish are biting, so I can get a video for you guys 💕

Cheers Kyle mate. Thanks for watching 👍
Yes mate the wind does fire them up. Its just a matter of if you are brave enough to go out in the elements. Nice work mate
Its alright when you are fishing with the wind, another story when its blowing against you 😂😂
Thanks for watching 👍

Brings me back there with you man! Awesome vid
That big fish you lost 😭😭
Nice work mate, good video. Glad to see your donut streak has been broken. Hopefully my donut streak will come to end end soon as well.
Hey mate, thanks for watching. Hang in there and keep trying 💕
Great videos. Nice mix between action and knowledge sharing for less experienced folks like me. Planning to buy the soft lures and pro-cure scent you’re using. Hopefully will make a difference. Might even give Hays Inlet another crack.
Hey mate, thanks for watching and leaving a comment 😊
Give it a crack, its hard work but when you hook up you'll be giggling like a school kid - so much fun and so rewarding! Let me know how you go, cheers 👍
Hi Jason I am just wondering if the ground is very solid when walk out to the inlet and great catch
Hey Kristine, yes it is solid walking out in the center. But can be a bit muddy if you go far right. Hope this helps and good luck! Thanks for watching 😊
I got 2 flathead on the other side of that long bridge at low tide where people take their dogs and walk. dusky flathead
Nice mate, I got to check out your spot! Thanks for watching 👍
@@ImJasonFish The Pine River is a very good river for catching all sorts of fishes .
Yes mate, caught some good fish in the Pine, including my PB flathead 👍
Fishing videos are about fishing. Not every fishing session results in a catch. Possibly, a compilation of the donuts would still have been entertaining because you could have talked us through your choice of target fish, venue, lures, scents etc. The information you provide is useful to other fishers who may not have the fishing experience you have. Just a suggestion. On my first fishing session last week since Covid19 I caught a small 26cm Bream & my PB Flathead 66 cm. Both on chicken breast. My subsequent fishing session did not provide a decent bite. The prevailing weather conditions (wet, cold & windy) have kept me housebound. But a break in the weather will come. I look forward to wetting a line soon.
Hey man
Probably a stupid question but do you cook the chicken or not ?
No question is stupid. It is raw chicken. I cut it into thin strips & then down to chunks to suit the hook size when fishing.. I have also had success using lamb/beef heart & kangaroo meat. I salt my dead baits to preserve them.
Hey mate, I recommend long strips of chicken. You want the chicken hanging off the hook - so the fish slurps the chicken bait in (like spaghetti). I hope this makes sense and helps a bit. Thanks for watching 💕
Hey mate, thanks for the suggestions. All my footage which don't make the cut for a full video gets put into a compilation video. So keep an eye out for those as there are some interesting and helpful clips. Thanks for coming back to watch 💕
Any recommendations around Redcliffe on an early morning fish at or just after sunrise? Im a complete noob and thought maybe I might catch something early morning. Would like to catch something doesnt have to be a feed, as I live an hour away and the last 10 times just a few bites and that's it
Hey mate, I have plenty of videos which cover spots around the Redcliffe Peninsula - off the beach, rocks, the flats, etc.. check them out! Hope this helps, let me know if you want more help. Thank for watching 😊
@@ImJasonFish awesome will look through. I've tried a few places but I'm sure it's the way I fish that cause the donuts 🤣🤣 its still nice to be out but would be good to actually catch something 😅😅
Keep at it mate, might just be your next PB! 😊
Hi Jason, love the vids. Could you please tell me what your rod set up is in this video.
Hey Luke, thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed 👍
Regarding my setups, they are all listed below in the video description in each video - hope this helps 😊
Hi Jason, my best there was a 68cm last September and the secret to that spot is to take 2 litres of clean water to rinse your feet at the car lol.
Not behd good soize! Haha I always look for a puddle on the walk back to rinse of my feet. But they always get muddy again 😂😭 Thanks for coming back to watch 💕
You should come out on my boat one time I fish around redcliffe sometimes. 👍
Awesome mate, what do you target? Cheers for watching 👍
@@ImJasonFish bream, snapper and flattys
Hi Jason, what hook size do you have on 1/4 oz jighead? Thanks
Hey Eddie, good question! I honestly can't remember the hook size I use. I generally just match the hook with a packet of soft plastics at the shop 😂 Hope this helps, thanks for watching 👍
Shit that was close ,nice one
Yeah close! I'm certain it was a tarpon as it had a forked tail. Actually the second time I've lost a tarpon on video 😅
Hey mate thats awesome . Ive only started fishing soft plastics . Was looking for a good spot to target flathead . What time of tides do you recomend for Hays.Do you recommend footwear down there
Hey Kathy, thanks for watching! The channel at Hays inlet is only accessible by land during low tide. So roughly 3 hours before low tide and 2 hours after. I would reccomend footwear as you don't know what's lurking underneath. Saying that, many people do not use wear footwear. Hope this helps 😊
ImJasonFish thanks mate I think I will give it ago when the tide is lowest at around midday. Any preference of left or right
I'll give you a tip mate, center is the deepest with the channel dropping off close. While right and left is shallow then drops to the channel further out. Hope this helps and good luck!
ImJasonFish how many hours before and after do you fish the area . Is there a safe place to park cars
You park at Haysmouth Parade. The channel at Hays inlet is only accessible by land during low tide. So roughly 3 hours before low tide and 2 hours after.
What are those gloves you are wearing
Hey mate, I wear Sun Protection Australia UPF50+ Sports Gloves and I would highly recommend them. Great to keep the UV rays off your hands and also keeps them warm during winter! You can grab them from BCF. Cheers for watching 👍
Thanks
Good size man nice and fat too 👍
And good feed 🤤 Thanks for watching Jono 💕
