I have a snapper pro 200xt with the 37 vanguard. I have noticed that the thicker the grass is the better that it cuts. The grass is chopped up more when i use the stock blades. When i use the scag high lift blades, that mower will cut smooth as silk and throw grass 3 to 4 rows. Now it doesn't cut the clippings up as much with the high lifts.

@americandream_89 i am pretty sure. Mine is the 61" deck. I have taken wet grass from around 10-12" tall down to 3 3/4 to 4" with a smoooth cut and no clumps..

@@americandream_89 i think it is all in the blades. I would put my cut against the scags that cut the yard at my job. Once i put a sharper edge on the blades, my mower leaves a smooth cut.

Really enjoy your mower comparison videos. I’ve used just about every brand of mower and, while they all their pluses and minuses, the Hustler has 2 features that set it apart for me. The Smoothtrak steering is no gimmick. It really is the smoothest steering operation I’ve used. And the other is the integrated parking brake in the handles. Once you’re used to that, you REALLY miss that when using another mower.

@@jamesa.4451 spot on. I’m in the same boat once you use hustlers break it seems backwards pulling a lever to park. I can’t count the times I’ve killed other mowers forgetting to drop the break. I’m so used to hopping on and full stick right away.

I own the bobcat zt7000 and use it commercially, with the stock blades it has a hard time in the wet but you run the scag super high lift blade and it does a lot better in the wet. Now can you can raise the front baffle and it will cut a little bit better in the thick grass also, and having your deck perfectly level from front to back will help the cut too even with all that not sure if it would cut as good as the hustler and scag. I also have the same problem with the bobcat on hills it’s not a very stable machine it likes to slide on you. As far as the hydros they don’t work as well as a pump and wheel motor on hills just enough torque with the 5400’s definitely if you have the bagger system on the bobcat. Great job with the video!

@@drako3544 thank you for the feedback and info. I’d like to test one with different blades. I really like the zt7000 and I was able to mow at fast speeds in dry normal cuts.
What I’ve noticed is the mowers with really baffled decks like the bobcat or exmark tend to do worse in really lush thick grass. The open deck design is hard to beat. It’s also a ton easier to clean.
Does your mower have the EFI or carb?

On commercial mowers, the deck is always adjustable. The fact that the bobcat is lower than its set at is a dealer issue and ideally should be taken care by them.
Are you planning to try ferris? I think if you're looking for the most comfortable ride I'm surprised you haven't had one on the channel yet.

@@michaelbychkov8030 I was blown away instead of Mower with only 100 hours could be that out of line. Hopefully other ZT 7000 owners will chime in and tell if their deck is the same.
I’ve been trying to get Ferris out for years now.
I’m not necessarily looking for the best riding mower. I’m looking for the best all round Mower. As in cut quality feature said ride quality cost, etc. But at the same time, I want others to see the journey and find a Mower that fits their needs and offers them what they’re looking for in a mower.

    We run bobcats zs4000 52s and 61s
Cut is insane , level your deck. And keep blades sharp. Dealer doesn’t set them right. There deep deck design should be better explained. We had a scag at 4.3/4th and a bobcat at 4 … completely different cut heights. To match the scag we had to bring it down too 3 1/2,, I believe the deep deck when it’s on grass vs measuring on concrete definitely changes the cut height, stripe is beautiful. Wet grass, double cut it and it looks great. (Something basically everyone does) Tires suck. We switched one machine to turf masters. Way better.
I’ll put it up with any machine, genuinely stripes and cuts like no other. When the grass is 10 inches tall we had a time when the scag could not clean up the yard . We had a bobcat on the other side .. we had to cut it three times with the bobcat to clean up the clippings, scag we ran over it 10 + times to get the same affect. Velocity plus deck.
Deck setting on the bobcat : level lips all the way down : cut height 3.5 normal tire pressures , biggest thing level your deck. Once you level that and definitely take into consideration the deck sit lower than the blades. You’ll adjust your HOC to the turf. Once you get that down you’ll be amazed.
