- There are over 5000+ public buses in Singapore today, but have you ever wondered how many different type of seat designs are there throughout the entire fleet? Your answer is here, along with our rankings on the seat's comfort level, from most to least comfortable!
Definition of SG❤️BUS for this video will be buses that are currently operated by the 4 public transport operators at the time of this video's posting.

as a former bus enthu, i very much miss the bus seats of the yesteryear, especially the seats found on older sbs buses ranging from the b10ms to the dennis tridents, and not to mention the comfortable and eye catching colourful fabrics found on older TIBS buses.
nowadays, i honestly feel like the current bus seats are quite uncomfortable, with a very certain exception of 5999Z, which should've been the norm for all newer buses, but unfortunately not it seems, and that god awful seat cover materials found in some buses, the most i detest are the "rubber" ones on euro 6 man a22 and a95s... can't even rest well without feeling awful after alighting
The newer ones seem to grip you hor then can't slide around.. I really miss the older seat styles man

Enjoyed the video and anyway you should rate the yellow cdge seats differently…. Did you know that the yellow cushions are made from different material from the red ones? Yellow more comfy.
In Hong Kong, we do have those high back Vogel seats across most KMB buses like E400, E500 MMC (including Facelift), slightly newer B9TL, B8L (Wright only) and A95. We always complain about those haha and now the seats on MCV B8L are even worse, with even thinner padding. The rule of thumb is: the older the bus, the more comfortable. Something like the last remaining Super Olympian, first generation E500 have thick padded seats, great to take a nap on long journeys!
However in Singapore, even seats are not high back most do have thick paddings so that is alright, especially when bus journeys are usually not too long. Missing SG!
I fully agree with the rule of thumb! It really does seem like public bus seats in general are getting thinner as the years go by. I guess we in SG can be thankful that majority of our buses use the system 750, which is roughly in the middle in terms of comfort.

Wow that's a real neat classic manual car. If u din mind could do s short vlog of your that car. Not much of electronic setup means less one thing to breakdown. Agree with some of the comments the seat was like ironing board. And also for those last seat there are some the heat from the engine make the butt hot lol.

The seat for Ster 8MI is cramped & uncomfortable compare to Ster New City which is spacious & comfortable

It is a joke about the last TIBS/SMRT Hispano Carrocera MB O405 TIB832Z, which shall be preserved and honored, not scrapped like evey other buses. To commemorate its loss, we say *L* once we see the number 832.

Vogelsitze 750/3, I really enjoyed their updated version with a different surface. My bum won't slide off the seat when riding through the offramp of SLE-Lentor lmao.

I miss the old bus seats more than the current ones. They were so comfy. Do you have any reasons on why don't they use those types of seats anymore?
I think it's due to the problem with daily wear and tear. Since the older seats are softer, they tend to get hole punched/torn easily

You should try JB myBAS service T30 seats on Vxx xxxx plate bus... It's literally a plastic seat WITHOUT any padding at ALL 🗿 it only has a fabric cover to make it look 'comfortable'

The vogelsitze 750/3 is by far very common,but that is not too bad,
As a Hougang resident, all I ever see is the 750/3 and the City Star Eco. Getting quite boring already.

Felt weird that you guys would rank the Akdulger much higher when they feel alot like the city star eco ergonomics wise. Undeniably, the city star eco is no doubt the shittiest in every regard in that list lol.
Though, lumping the ster newcity with the city star eco is really an insult tbh. Would really argue that the ergonomics on the newcity is way better. Ster could really do better by being adding more padding to those seats.
Hmm so I presume you would swap the akdulger with the new city uh? We liked the way the akdulger's back rest was "curved" nicely as compared to the new city
@@glitchFan2428 well, I feel rather conflicted where the akdulger should stand. I feel that the upholstery just feels like a slightly better city star eco, that doesn't have that hump that breaks your spine if you lie your body onto it. My biggest complain about it is that it's hard to remain seated when the bus travels on uneven roads.
Though, if we were to get into the topic of seats that do a terrible job at keeping you seated, the Century actually sucks in that regard too. And once you've dwelled into that topic, It's hard to ignore the fact that the Ster Newcity seats on the upper deck, last few rows on the Yutong e12dd are mounted at a slight angle that makes you slip right off the damn seat easily.
Mmm, these would definitely be taken into consideration if we were to do a serious version of this video. Cos this one was meant to be like a joke 😝

In my opinion, my order of bus seats in HK is below (from best to worst) :
Lazzerini GTS 3700/6700 (CTB cityflyer) > Vogelsitze Magnio / Vogel Magic (LWB airbus) > Lazzerini Practico 3840 (CTB/NWFB E400 / KMB E200) > Vogelsitze System 400 (KMB B9TL(AVBWU) / E500 / Scania K230UB/K310UD) > Lazzerini city (most buses owned by CTB/NWFB before 2014 / KMB B10TL 10.6M(ASV) / E500(ATE)) > Lazzerini citylight (most buses owned by CTB/NWFB after 2014 / a few E500 MMC owned by KMB / K280UD) > Vogel Revo S (A95 / B9TL(KMB, AVBWU)) > Vogel Revo S (E500MMC in KMB, lean slightly forward) > Lazzerini Ethos (B8L in KMB(V6X))
For the worst one, the thickness of the seat is the reason that it is the worst one in HK.
You may notice that the newer the buses, the less comfortable are the seats.
I don't know if it is a trend or a coincidence, whatever.

== seat tray lower than others, seat-material grips, cushion higher, too soft for long rides, material and cushion works together well, cushion thickness and seat tray works together well.
= orange, compare with above points, better for long distances
Apply orange to car/train/plane, seat angle upwards by 15deg above gravity-horizon for backside slot into "space-gap" between backrest and seat
Apply yellow to sports car to get drowsy over longer drives
Double check findings
Small bus seat material looks slippery
Joint seat and backrest material is slippery effect
Shoulder should be grippy for bus to prevent side knocking (haha your rub shoulders with ...). The 2-materials can have sections for different effects. Cushions can have different cutting. Seat cushion can have hemming-fabric-belt to control aging drape-look of material. Seat under tray can continue the effect and enhance support.
Massage chair independent-"balloons" can have valves to air-cylinder-reservoir for auto-mechanical/pneumatics rebalancing adjustments during body-movements and also electrically-pumped to increase or decrease hardness (when applied to cars or high speed trains).
Headrests are for filthy transfers of gel/mouse/oil/moving-rubber/...
for cars, usually the L-shaped backrest type of short-section back for shoulder-blades-cavity of body-builders and longer-section top for sitting on backrest cushion with tiltable articulation of front-seats to touch the back of airy-head air-headed car drivers. The other way round for the LL will only work if shaped properly for the neck-back-shoulders...
