There is a few... the enemy used a mosque primarily to fight from. First off we're not going to fire on a mosque, we're not going to fire on anything until we are fired upon, and we started fire from the mosque and returned fire and at that time they began to leave and enter apartment buildings from the left and the right, and fighting continued from there. Primarily it's all down to sniper fire, keeps you on your toes."

STORYLINE
Iraqi troops fought off militants and rebel snipers to raise the new Iraqi flag over central Fallujah's police station on Wednesday, as the US military said its swift advance had seen it seize control of 70 per cent of the militant stronghold.
Before dawn on Wednesday, US and Iraqi forces fought rebels to retake Fallujah's City Hall complex, which houses a police station and the mayor's office.
The Iraqi troops raised the flag after fending off rebels who fired from mosque minarets and nearby apartment buildings.
The US military said its troops had also secured several mosques used as militant command centres, key bridges and military building. The military said US troops pushed militants into a section of the city flanking the main east-west highway that bisects the rebel stronghold.
At least 71 militants had been killed by the beginning of the third day of intense urban combat, the US military said, with the casualty figure expected to rise sharply once Iraqis and foreign fighters killed in air strikes are accounted for.
