I stayed in the original Banana Bungalow. I was always the first up on those bright, warm and sunny mornings listening to the sound of the birds chirpping before heading down to road than ran parallel with the busy freeway. Didnt mind the walk down to Hollywood. I was sorry to hear that it had been demolished. Hopefully one day i'll return to this new place. I'll give the partying a miss though!
I stayed here when I travelled to LA in March. Do NOT stay here!!! The rooms are filthy, I found a several cockroaches in my suite, and the amenities such as heater don’t work. I felt disgusted using the shower because it was so old and dirty. Do not I repeat do NOT go here
I thought was the one near he Hollywood bowel they must have moved it’s too far along the bvd avoid … there another hostel right opposite hard rock and it’s much nicer and don’t smell of weed or piss

I stayed at the first Banana Bungalow when it was set in the hills. This was 1992.
I stayed there in 1997.
So did I twice in 92 then I worked there for 6 months in 94 . Great days
