    Damn
I am on the same situation.
I started teaching myself frontend two years ago and recently I got my first job as backend developer focused on Java ,sprint, postsql , docker and aws s3
The job is very challenging since my mindset was build around JavaScript html css and reactJs.
I am spending hours after work and weekend to understand stuffs.
I have no social life at this point.
I feel like I am on the last on team but I firmly believe once I got it , I will have a big advantage.
    Thanks

it's a lot of baby steps to actually become a SWE. I feel like so many SWEs have to go through those sketchy jobs that they find through Indeed or something. they try to lure you in with the SWE title even if its not actually that, but it still helps to keep on your resume.

Thanks for the tip! I am started out programming and started python core but one of my contacts gave me advice to learn C and/or C++ for better understanding on other languages so im kinda all over the place wondering what to lean first lol

trust me when you learn c++ other languages will be so easy to learn. It took me 3-4 days to mostly learn JavaScript because of my c++ knowledge.

@@CodeEnthusiast78912 I also heard that learning your first language wont be the same as learning others. If I had known I could learn solid fundamentals from C++ I would have learned that first instead of python.

@@BreadFr1 well, not really. Most concepts repeat over most languages. Learning python/JS first makes it easier to learn lower level languages too, just learn what you need and you'll be fine

Same thing happened to me! I got hired as a python backend developer to a company and asked to do front end work from scratch. The company rarely even uses Python, but focuses on C#! Glad to know I'm not the only one.
