Watch documentaries of this group as nd you see how they and their children literally grow up with guitars in their hands, they all mentor the children and their music is ingrained in them, along with the dance, the passion and the spiritual essence of who they are as a culture and people. I speak Spanish as my first language but as an Argentinian sometimes I struggle to understand what they say, seems like they mix different Spanish pronunciations or even local languages spoken in Spain.
This is my favorite band and I love this rich gipsy, flamenco music so beautiful and passionate. They are ageless.

I have been listening to these guys since what feels like forever, since my teens just like the Eagles. The Eagles and The Gypsy Kings are for sure the sound track to me life and I feel every emotion in the music. I truly cannot imagine life without either.

No, this makes you one of the few who got to enjoy these amazing group and their music..... I have never seen them live more will ever I guess but this concert remains my favorite along with my BB other friends.... Nothing compares to this music, the energy the voices the vibes.....

If this music doesn’t make your feet tap, better check your pulse. I saw the Gipsy Kings once at Radio City Music Hall in NYC and they were extraordinary. My DNA is entirely Irish with a bit of German but something about this music digs deep into my soul. Love it!!

I love the audacity of their songs, they were not afraid of doing classical rumba at the time of adding pop music tunes and harmonies for a very original and heart-felt musical creation.

They managed to find the perfect😊❤ formula
I was at this concert in '89 brilliant night - took the whole band back to my restaurant, La Finca in Islington, for a meal, which was a great night as well, especially when the band played another set for my customers which got featured in the Evening Standard, tried my best speaking to them in Spanish, blank expressions followed, then I was informed that they only spoke French!! Still, we communicated - a great, extremely talented bunch of guys - eternal thanks to Ray Leavy of A1 records for the introduction of the band to me. 31 years later I still remember every detail of the night. Also I know I'm getting older b'cos the current Gypsy Kings line up is starting to include the next generation - the sons and nephews of this original line up (possibly grandsons !) any daughters, nieces and granddaughters coming thru? That would be very 2020 and very interesting but would they have to change their name and to what...? Any ideas anybody. Memories, thanks Gypsy Kings and Ray - without him, I doubt if anyone would have heard of them outside of the Camargue region and the
borderlands of Spain and France.
Hope you all enjoyed my little story - plenty of time to write in Lock down, good news tho', in 3 hours, State of Emergency ends in Portugal where I live, see folks, it will get better.

FURTHER EDIT. - some things I missed in my comments :-
1)How much the entire band were enjoying this concert - you can see it in all their faces.
2)The effort the band put into their individual presentation and performance.
3)Nico's vocals, how he builds them up, alongside the rest of the band, up to the final chorus during "My Way" in Spanish.
4)Tonini's brilliant guitar playing and how he is so unassuming, shy in a way, although he was then and still is now, one of the top Rumba Flamenca guitarist's in the world.
5)The brilliant camera work and editing of the concert - remember this is 1989 !!

Hope everything is OK in Oz, it seems to be calming down in Europe, but the position is still very fragile, nobody believes it has gone away, hiding at best. Is going to be a problem until a vaccine is found. In the meantime, we have to learn to live with it, try to control the spread and prevent further waves returning.Thank God for Internet, Facebook, Twitter, You Tube etc. ., for all the bad press they get in normal times they have certainly made lock down bearable. Well, I told my story already but I can add the 2 times I saw them at Radio City Music Hall it was packed! Little blond blue eyes girls dancing standing up on the seats. Quite an audience. I always knew they are French but they sing in Spanish pretty good.

Músicas envolventes, energizadas de amor, sensualidade e suavizes. Magnifico!!!
Pegaram num palo do Flamenco apenas utilizado para musica ambiente, chamado Romantica, e outro mais conhecido chamado Rumba. E criaram um monte de grandes canções. Infelizmente nunca mais ninguém irá fazer o mesmo, eles mesmos conseguiram arruinar isso pela qualidade tão grande que impuseram. Predestinados. Tinham de ser estes homens, filhos de grandes músicos ciganos como Jose Reyes, o Guitarrista solo sobrinho do Manitas de Plata. Familias ciganas dos sul de França que fugiram da guerra para Espanha. Não poderiam ser outros e nem vai haver nada parecido.
