    Fun watching a flight out of Rapid City, SD. I was a Flight Medic in Bismarck, ND for several years and am now working on my private pilot certification. Its always fun to see familiar places and hear familiar radio calls. Great video!

    Nice flight, Steve and Fran - thanks again for sharing; your stuff is a real inspiration to those of us intending to join the Cirrus Life soon! I haven't found a video that shows us your sim setup; is there one? Your dedication to preparation before your challenging flights is getting me excited to begin sim-training, and I'd love to know how you chose/built your setup. Thanks again for all the work you do to provide us with these terrific videos!!

I've since added the Noble Flight Sim throttle quadrant to the setup which really completes my Cirrus cockpit setup. ruclips.net/video/7HEvvTOXHWA/видео.html . New to your channel and love watching your videos of you and your wife flying to your many destinations. Truly inspirational and something I would love to do in the future once I get my license. Cirrus SR22 has been a favorite of mine for years and it’s awesome watching you fly. You have an incredible level of safety when it comes to flying and something I want to learn from. Something I would love to see in future videos are your flight planning and execution. More in detail. Is this something you can do?

    • @TheRenBaron

      Thanks for the kind words. Glad you are finding the videos helpful. And yes I'm planning on doing a video soon breaking down my whole flight planning regimen in excruciating detail. I wish I could turn the videos out faster but sadly it takes me 10X more time to edit a flight than fly it. Good luck on your training. Take your time and get it right! Cheers-Ren

    Great video. Thank you. What are your thoughts on flying to JH in a NA SR22?

    • @TheRenBaron
      @TheRenBaron  2 года назад

      All things being equal I'd much prefer to do it with a turbocharged engine. The field elevation is over 6,000 feet which definitely brings density altitude issues into the equation. Having said that I think if you were taking off on a relatively cool day you'd probably be fine in a NA SR22 but I'd be sure to check my POH for performance numbers at altitude before I departed. is there a FITBIT or SMART WATCH that actually MEASURES the O2 in the body???? like the little thingie on the finger does???? AS GOOD AS IT DOES?????
    man... sheesh... *I* would have to have realtime measurments lol ;) sigh... trust the tech they say...

    • @TheRenBaron
      @TheRenBaron  2 года назад +1

      I've got an Apple watch that measures O2 levels but its hard to get a reading unless you can keep your wrist very still. The little blue oximeter is easy and cheap. Don't got anywhere (above 12,500) without it. I had a little moment of hypoxia early on in my flying time in the Cirrus and when those 02 levels start dropping it happens fast and you start losing it quick! Don't want to do that again. Ch
