  • You can make a simple, elegant smartwatch dock and stand from a dead tree branch. It is inexpensive and can be modified to fit various needs or tastes.

    This is sweet! I'm thinking about making one of these except change it up to make it unique. It's awesome to see what people can make from stuff anyone can get (like a tree branch). Epic job!

    Very nice! I don't own a Apple watch, so I am not sure what the magnet behind the charger does?

    • @chargeeverywhere
      @chargeeverywhere  7 лет назад +1

      The Apple Watch charging puck is magnetic. The watch actually attaches to it magnetically, which is kinda cool. The magnet behind the puck is meant to help secure everything into the dock. It clips onto the screw on the end of the dowel as well as the back of the puck. In practice it's not really necessary as the puck and dowel fit very tightly into the dock.

    • @chargeeverywhere
      @chargeeverywhere  6 лет назад

      No it doesn’t. The charging puck magnet is what is mainly holding the watch.

    Hey man awesome video and love the dock. I'm planning on including this dock on my iPhone/Apple Watch docking station that I'm going to build. I'm planning on making a video and posting it. Is that cool with you? I'll give you credit in the video.

      Hi Cassidy. That is 100% ok with me. I'd love to see what you come up with and I'm sure others would too! I'm really just glad you were inspired 😀

    I really like the Rustic DIY Apple Watch Dock/Stand that you made. I would like to take that idea and build one for myself. The only thing is that I'm using a Samsung Smart Watch. The charging unit is different then the Apple Smart Watch. Do you have any idea's or suggestions? Thanks in advance. I must have watched the video a hunred times, love it and I'm now a subscriber.

    • @chargeeverywhere
      @chargeeverywhere  7 лет назад

      Thanks for the comment and I'm glad you are inspired. I'm not familiar with the different Samsung chargers, but I'm guessing you have the one with the black dock, which is quite a bit different than Apple's charging "puck". My initial thought is the carve out (with a Dremel or router) a cavity in the bottom side of the log to accommodate the entire dock. You could just pop the dock into the bottom of the log. The issue I see is that the entire front and half of the bottom of the dock will be exposed. It would be cool if you could make a larger black ring around the bottom of the log to hide the bottom of the dock. Hopefully this makes some sense.

      I found this site that you might be interested in. It shows options for changing an Apple Charging station to an android. Or using the adapter for your own make of Watch. The site is called Fat Dog Mod's. www.fatdogmods.com/buy-now.html Thanks.

    FYI microwave small pieces of dead wood 30 -45 seconds to kill insects like bore beetles. Then apply Danish oil while pores are open.
