If you're travelling to Japan, make sure to stop by Matsushima Bay, one of "Three Views of Japan." The name means "Pine Tree Island" and it's a collection of 260+ small islands covered in pine trees, which you can tour by boat. The associated Buddhist temple Zuigan-ji is also right across the street and is considered one of Japan's national treasures. It has an incredible series of caves built into the cliff side as well as a beautiful garden and quite a few incredible trees, so make sure to add it to your trip!

I don't know what it is exactly, but I like most of the cinematography in those videos. The shots are awesome a lot of the time. True they can use little bit of stabilization sometimes (handheld cams so there's not much to be done about it) but they give those informational videos that National Geographic touch.

I visited Matsushima and Zuiganji about a year and a half before the tsunami and it was so serene and beautiful. There was a cat with an odd miaow and colour pattern on its fur that made it look like it had somewhat human facial features. It let me pet it. Later, when I told my friend about that and how I was hoping to get accepted into uni, she said I ‘got the blessing of a temple cat’...
Anyway, I’m kinda surprised you didn’t mention Matsuo Basho in this vid!

It's funny how as a Canadian I find the nature and historical monuments in Japan breath taking and unique, but find Canada's nature a big pile of trees, mountain and lakes everywhere that look similar.
On the other hand, Japan thinks Canada's nature and monuments are so beautiful and amazing. Comes to show that things we don't see as much will always intrigue us more.
