If you're travelling to Japan, make sure to stop by Matsushima Bay, one of "Three Views of Japan." The name means "Pine Tree Island" and it's a collection of 260+ small islands covered in pine trees, which you can tour by boat. The associated Buddhist temple Zuigan-ji is also right across the street and is considered one of Japan's national treasures. It has an incredible series of caves built into the cliff side as well as a beautiful garden and quite a few incredible trees, so make sure to add it to your trip!

That guy in the pink shirt may have been a bit egotistical and overweight, but he sure looked cool. Great video!
Abroadin Japan I dunno he had some pretty impressive knowledge of this area, and that kanji is some tough stuff. I didn't even know they had kanji for McDonald's before today.
You're too nice. That guy came off as a douche.
Nah man I thought he was really funny and not at all egotistical, just sarcastic (:
Rachel & Jun I don't get why people are saying hes ' egotistical/a douche'. I thought he was funny lol Guess some people just dont have a sense of humor. I love you guys!
Abroadin Japan I think he should be more self-deprecating.

I know I'm many years late but this was a gorgeous, gorgeous place that y'all shared with us.
Matsushima is sooooo beautiful! I went there with my dad. He enjoyed it so much
That tree is amaaaaaaaaaaazing
This is a place I need to go to.
Wow. That place looks so peaceful and spiritual, especially where the temples are.
Your videos are very well shot, and very well produced. Every one of them seems like a mini-documentary. Thanks for putting in a lot of hard work for us.
I really want to see Japan! I really do, the country is filled with so much cultural and history!!
Breathtaking! Thank you for sharing your wonderful day trip.
It's so pretty, I'll have to add it to my list of places in Japan I want to go to.
Again, love the professionalism of the video mixed with the casual fun stuff.
Omg beautiful

私的に好きな松島の景色 降雪後の晴れた朝、若干高い場所から昇る朝日と浮かぶ島々を見るですな
人の手が入ってない雄大で荘厳な松島 自然は偉大です
I love how the scenery looks, just makes you want to go to Japan even more
Wow! If I could visit only one place in Japan, this would be it. Thank you!!!♡
Northern Honshu, Japan is very pretty and educational.
This video looked so stunning, it felt like I was actually there! So beautiful!!!
Cool place cant wait to visit Japan one day

Japan looks so peaceful and beautiful. I wish I can go there some day. :/
Thank you SO MUCH for putting the music in the description Love your videos!
Love the Drum and Bass!
Thank you for the great video. Japan is always beautiful It always surprises me how a country with 120 million people living in an area half the size of Texas can have so much greenery.
It's beautiful there. Hope I can visit someday.
Hello guys im live in Sendai and I been there amezing place and so good ostrich and fish always beautiful movie .
So, beautiful and mystic-looking! I definitely need to see this place!
amazing footage angles guys and awesome video. thanks for the hard work
That tree is amazing
i actually love the fact that you have drum and bassas background music in your videos c:
I loved Fern Gully!! Especially Batty ^^
Sharla is the bay NPC hahaha
When I went to japan this summer I stayed in Sendai for 2 weeks with a host family. and on my last weekend we went on a Matsushima tour!!! This is making me so nostalgic. I miss Japan so badly
It does look like something out of the movie Ferngully! That tree is beautiful
that tree is amazing
So beautiful! Oh, I want to visit so much. I want to go there and be all tourist-y.
I don't know what it is exactly, but I like most of the cinematography in those videos. The shots are awesome a lot of the time. True they can use little bit of stabilization sometimes (handheld cams so there's not much to be done about it) but they give those informational videos that National Geographic touch.
I wonder how many teachers use your channel as a teaching tool, you share a lot of educational facts about Japan
Wow, absolutely stunning! I would LOVE to take so many photos at the Bay! Thanks for another amazing video!
I just wanted to say that the music you used here is beautiful! Thank you so much for listing it in the info section. I'm listening to it right now and it's so relaxing and inspiring. :)
It's so beautiful. . . .
Every time I watch one of your road trip videos I wonder if Chris will come out with one of his stories, he never disappoints me xD. Great video! I'm really loving these road trip series, I'm taking lots of ideas for my next trip to Japan, many beautiful places to see ^^
Rachel and Jun, just wanted to let you guys know that ever since I first started watching your videos last year, they have quickly become some of my favorite videos to watch. The quality of your videos are amazing, the subtitles are great, and they are always super informative and funny. Favorite video so far: Fox Village :P
Aww... this brings back memories. I visited here with my husband a few months before the big tsunami. So I got to see it with all the trees. It was stunning. I didn't realize until I watched your video that the tsunami had altered it.
Beautiful place - haven't been there.... yet! ^_-
Great video guys, thumbs up!
Have a great weekend....
My god it's so beautiful, thank you for this !
You guys are seriously making me consider going to more Northern Japan on my next trip there. :)
Chris Keppler DO IT!! :D It's gorgeous up there!! And we have more awesome places we'll be showing, too! ^^
This place looks beautiful!!! Chris was hilarious!!!
Guuuuuysssssss OMG that was so beautiful, I'm so happy you went lol. Thanks for another amazing video ♡♡♡♡♡
I felt like I was there...great video!
I love all your videos like this! I couldn't afford going to Japan despite how much I saved in the end this summer but I appreciate traveling vicariously through your videos! theyre good future reference spots to check ou if I ever go some day
I love the music you use
I really like the music you use.
Lucas Cooper I was so glad to find these songs! :D They're by A Himitsu.
Rachel & Jun Thanks for sharing that, you're the best! :)
I went to matsushima a couple years ago. It is an amazing place! The best part was part though was stopping in to the tourist office and having a long conversation with the man there about what happened during the tsunami. I learned the red bridge was gone and they only rebuilt/reopened it the week before.
What a beautiful place, definitely gonna take a trip over here before I leave!
Really liked the music in the video as well! Gave the video a really cool vibe :)
Great "infotainment" !! I love actually learning about Japanese history & culture while watching your adventures : )
What a beautiful video, guys. ♥
You guys need to visit Amanohashidate in Kyoto. It isn't a "chain of islands" like Abroadin Japan, but is more like a long sandbar with many many pine trees on it.
I do only live like 30 minutes away from it.
WHOOOOAAAA!!!!!!! THAT LOOKS AWESOME!
I think I found the best youtube channel !! thank you and greetings from Colombia!
I visited Matsushima and Zuiganji about a year and a half before the tsunami and it was so serene and beautiful. There was a cat with an odd miaow and colour pattern on its fur that made it look like it had somewhat human facial features. It let me pet it. Later, when I told my friend about that and how I was hoping to get accepted into uni, she said I ‘got the blessing of a temple cat’...
Anyway, I’m kinda surprised you didn’t mention Matsuo Basho in this vid!
I lost it when Chris slowly edged his way into the dramatic shot xD
Oh, there're old trees, temples, statues, & so on there. Well, I've heard of Matsushima, but not been yet.
Matsushima was so beautiful. Devastated I didn't get to stay longer than just one afternoon. :(
wow that tree is incredible!
i am loving your trip vlogs!
Thanks for the video.
Seeing my three favourite youtubers collabing is the best thing, oh my god. ; A ;
Your videos are so fun to watch xoxo
Amazing!
That 700 year old tree was freakin' epic, holy moly!! :O
And you're right, that is such a Fern Gully type tree, it's gorgeous!!
That tree is epic!
Chris: Jun, help me out.
~Jun walks away laughing~
Hahaha, It's always so fun watching all of you! ^o^
Beautiful scenery and great music. Thank you for sharing~!
Aw there's Sharla you guys are so coooool
I like your videos, they are very helpful to practice my English, gracias!
So yeah, 10 mins ago I didn't know Matsushima Bay existed. Now, I've decided to go there first chance I get (once I can pop out of Tokyo to visit Tohoku).
Thanks so much, gang! Loving these road trip vids XD
So beautiful. And above all, i really jealous of you because you had the privilege to enjoy your life the way u like...(^^)
Love your background music choice!
Great job with the music; you picked some great ones! : D
lol I love when you were taking that artsy shot and Chris slowly crept in like a horror movie jump scare.
This place reminds me of Vancouver Island in Canada
All these videos are so inspiring! I'm starting school at UCD soon and would love to study abroad in Japan!
Yes
CHRIS IS SO FREAKING FUNNY!!! LOL
That Icy Vindur track was an awesome fuckin selection.
So pretty
It's funny how as a Canadian I find the nature and historical monuments in Japan breath taking and unique, but find Canada's nature a big pile of trees, mountain and lakes everywhere that look similar.
On the other hand, Japan thinks Canada's nature and monuments are so beautiful and amazing. Comes to show that things we don't see as much will always intrigue us more.
I want to go back to Japan❗️
All the hellos from QUEBEC!!!!! 🚘😄😄😘
Omg my friend who taught english in Sendai took pictures here. it looked familiar cause i really liked all the pics she had. but filming it is really great too! you did an awesome job!
Absolutely amazing. The video has a professional feel about it (in the poitive sense). Gorgeous place. More please! And by the way, was that music the reason for your outburst of joy, nearly at dawn like two days ago? If it was, I totally agree.
VEry cool video.
This games graphics are amazing
