    I am not a planner or event designer of any sort nor do I intend to be. What I do consider myself is a lifelong student and business woman. These videos are wonderful for any person looking to be successful in the business world. I’ve been watching 1 per week and each time I walk away with another nugget of wisdom. Thank you for being so gracious and wildy open, sharing knowledge is something that only truly confident leaders do.

    Did my first luxury picnic for a couple on Maui and followed your pricing method all the way!! I made $500.00 on a 2-hour luxury picnic🙌🏾 I gave them a five-star experience. Now I've raised my price lol because it's a lot of work. Thank you for this blessing that you have given me. May God continue to bless you.

    This was great for any new business person. I'm an engineer. We break things down per service and leave room in the contact to charge more if the client ends up changing the design once we've put time into making their 1st dream planned out, or if the county requires us to make major changes that they haven't asked for before. If we are hiring sub consultants, we charge a percentage. It's for our time coordinating and doing the admin work and also we do take some liability for what they do too.
    I was shocked when you said $5k. I was like that is so much work and time to handle way to many small time eating task. You're hourly wage would have been next to nothing for those 1st few events.
    The events that you're planing now, are on another level. I couldn't imagine. Glad you recognized you need time between events too.

      Each level and segment of the industry prices their work differently. Entry level wedding planners and those planning approachable budgets often start by charging $5000 for their services, which luxury wedding planners often charge in the 6-figure range. It is important to understand what you were buying, and what you were getting at that price point.

    How much would you should a planner charge with no wedding experience?

    • @AndreaEppolitoEvents
      @AndreaEppolitoEvents  Год назад +1

      That is so difficult. I would say that an emerging wedding planner should gain experience as an intern and an employee before starting their company. No one should start a business with zero experience or education.

    How do you figure out how much people are charging without scheduling an appointment?

    • @AndreaEppolitoEvents
      @AndreaEppolitoEvents  6 месяцев назад

      As a client, research is your best friend. Luxury wedding planners are typically 17%-20% of the overall budget. Midrange planners are about 10% - 15%.

    With respect, is a referral fee re vendors acceptable instead? I mean, if the vendor gets work because I sold the couple on their services, I am confused re how me receiving something for this is somehow “bad”. Thanks.

    If client goes to a different budget as the wedding progresses, then he needs to pay the planner higher. If he goes lower, that's not the planner's fault as she has already prepared connections with ppl of the budget the clients have mentioned. If the client goes higher, the planner is doing more work, like cancelling low budget contract to a higher lvl one like maybe cancelling a low budget florist to a higher end one acc to the budget rise of the client. If suppose client demands the planner must use low end suppliers because client has lowered the budget midway of the wedding progress, then there should be an additional fee to the planner cause they now have to cancel the high end connections and source a lower end one. Either way, if they change budgets, planner needs to be paid more cause their original budget is no longer valid. Its why iron clad contracts should not be signed. Have flexibility so you get paid more incase of mishaps.

    • @AndreaEppolitoEvents
      @AndreaEppolitoEvents  3 года назад +6

      Contracts should always be iron-clad and the cost of planning, design, production, and execution should always be very clearly outlined and completely understood by all. I never advocate for payments of fees that feel like "punishment" but always insist that there is an equitable investment from the client that properly compensates the planner for the work they do.

    ❌WAY TOO LONG…. You could’ve done this in half the time. You seem to be more like a lawyer and getting paid by the minute. You repeated yourself and talked in circles too many times. I quit watching at the 18 minute mark because you were getting very unclear and not giving specific examples. You just could’ve said…. For a $200,000 wedding, my retainer is $10,000 and then $20,000 when the job is done. I will further bill them another $10,000 for contractors that I hire such as set-up and delivery people. I assure all my clients that if the contractors go over budget that I will eat the difference. That’s how experienced I am. I know what things cost and who to use. I was absolutely shocked at the background noise. You bill yourself as the premier wedding planner in Las Vegas and you’re doing a video with your son making noise in the background? You didn’t arrange for him to be with a sitter for an hour? That’s so ironic that you’d missed planning a simple detail like that. Does he also come along when you meet with your wealthy clients? 😆 You then talk about creating the feeling and the ambiance and the mood of the wedding and yet the sound quality in the room was a little sharp and edgy. There are some easy ways to muffle down the sound to make it softer. This stuff is really basic. Seriously, I think you should’ve hired a production crew to do your video if you’re telling people that you’re the best. It’s also good to switch up the camera angles, do some close-ups, insert some pictures of weddings you’ve done, a few testimonials and maybe even a time-lapse video of a complicated wedding venue being set up. I have no doubt that you can pull off an incredible wedding, but you really need to hire a writer, an editor and a film crew. On-screen graphics and titles can be used to make videos more interesting and help explain the math. Remember, a picture’s worth a 1000 words. Congrats on taking the leap of faith, leaving a great job and moving right to the head of the pack in your industry. Thanks and good luck on your future videos!
