    You can get a DP sound out of it. Just turn the gain down ... Blackers doesn't play with much gain at all. That is what makes him so unique - trying shredding clean at insane (Marshall Major ) volumes - it's difficult isn't it:)

    • @uv77mc85
      @uv77mc85 5 лет назад +5

      Blackmores an oddity. Ive a had a few of these guitars and they aint easy to play. Low gain, high action (if you wanna bend without choking) and extreme noise from the high output single coils. I dont know how he does it.

    • @rickleblanc8900
      @rickleblanc8900 5 лет назад

      @@uv77mc85 the action can always be lowered and a good set-up and intonation job always helps. As far as the noise goes, check out Fender Noiseless pickups as well as Seymour Duncan or Dimarzio models. Noise- free performance just a few choices away !

    • @uv77mc85
      @uv77mc85 5 лет назад +1

      @@rickleblanc8900 the problem is the 7.25 radius. If you want to do big bends without choking you have to have the action quite high. I have owned 3 blackmore strats and currently have one with clapton electronics. Great sounding guitar but i would rather a flatter radius.

    • @faustoorieta

      His tone was actually pretty fat tho, just listen to the isolated tracks
      Wasn't that high gain as this one is but wasn't that clean as well

    Finally a video which shows the scallops in the fretboard, and also that the Blackmore guitar has a nonsymmetrical and progressive scallop. meaning that on the lower strings Low "E" "A" & "D" there is no scalloping so you can play power chords easily, and on the upper stings "G" "B' "E" the fretboard is scalloped so you can control those strings better. As you move up the fretboard the level of scalloping increases.

    " Not what you expect of a Strat : insane output and no 2 and 4 switch
    positions. Those who search for a more traditional Strat, just search
    another axe."
    If you know Ritchie Blackmore... you that you buy a guitar that has an inactive Middle PU... So no CON for me.
    "- Nothing like old school 70's Blackmore sounds, will feel great in
    Metal but better take a standard Strat for old Purple sounds."
    Don't know which equipment you use but... A Purple sound (MK II / MK III) is defenetly possible. Also no CON for me.
    It's just a matter of the setting. If you do not want as much output ... screw down the Pickups and you'll have it...
    Great playing and great video by the way.

    i've had fender stratocaster with vintage tremolo bridges for decades. It is a myth that the tuning of the strings get detuned easily. From my experience detuning does not happen easily. It does happen but rarely. The trick to keeping in tune is: after stringing and tuning the strings, pull the strings with your fingers hard. Then re-tune. Repeat this process 10 times or more. Also , clean the nuts and the saddles each time re-string is taking place (oil the nuts and saddles if possible). Fender strat vintage tremolo bridge is simplest mechanism for all guitars which I dont see a need for the locking tremolo shit. Locking tremolo bridge system is just way to cumbersome when tuning/retuning/re-string.

    • @FerMetalHead1
      @FerMetalHead1 11 месяцев назад

      Great info but I kind of disagree. In my experience, vintage trems can hold tuning only when you dive them, because when you bend a string it goes out of tune until you dive the trem again. EVH was know for using a 6 point trem guitar and by diving it at times he could hold the guitar's tuning during live presentations. I personally prefer Floyd Rose bridges over vintage trems for the tuning stability and the ability to beat the heck out of it while still being perfectly in tune.

    I just got the Ritchie Blackmore guitar from Sweetwater. They installed a Graph Tech Tusq XL nut and set the action to fender spec. The neck only frets out under the most extreme bends. and it plays pretty well, but I'm thinking the action could be lower. I'm wondering if it could be setup with lower lower action without fretting out. How is your guitar setup?

      At first I was meh, but as I started to play it more it really developed a crunchiness to the sound. Originally I had 10 gauge strings on it but they were rough and the neck felt very ddry.
      I took the new 10 gauge off applied some guitar honey to the fretboard and put some 9 on it plays better. But both E strings you have to watch you dont bend them off the fretboard

    Just a question from a very novice, why in the middle no pickup installed? Can we modify install an additional pickup? What may be the best pickup for the middle?

    • @gregorglasbruch6917
      @gregorglasbruch6917 2 года назад

      Richie Blackmore does not use the middle pickup at all. However, there is a regular routing under the pickguard for a middle pickup, so installation is possible without any woodwork. I did it without further issues. You need to change wiring of the switch and the tone controls accordingly, If you intend to do this as well then let me propose to build in other pickups. The Seymour Duncan quarterpounders are powerful, but they are no humbuckers, so you are facing a lot of hum, which annoys Richie Blackmore as well. He never used these pickups. These are built in for cost reasons I guess. I replaced those by DiMarzio Humbuckers in Single coil format, which sound great without hum.

J'ai une strat mexicaine 60th anniversary special édition (delamortquitue ++ mcfly onthe mix) et j'ai les texmex dessus mais je suis pas fan du son... Je cherche un son hard 80's genre steel panther, est ce que si je met un hotrail à la place je me rapprocherais plus de ce style de son ? Continues tes vidéo tu m'a remotivé à jouer de la guitare :)

    • @SimonBorro
      @SimonBorro 8 лет назад

      +Sebastien Brus Un hotrail en bridge alors, le SH4 de Duncan en version réduite quoi ! comme Sacthel de Steel Panther !
      Après on ne peut pas faire sonner une strato comme une Kramer style Pacer comme lui... Mais très proche quand même, les deux grattes ayant beaucoup de point communs !
      ATTENTION ! : Un double format simple n'aura jamais le vrai son d'un double, pour la simple bonne raison que la "captation" de vibrations des cordes sur la version "simple" est moins large, mais on peut s'y approcher à 80% facile, une légère correction sur les aigue et les basses de l'EQ de ton amplis et hop, SATCHEL POWER ! ;)

      @LaGuidoline 8 лет назад

      +Simon Borro Merci pour ta réponse, effectivement je me doute bien que j'aurais jamais le même son que ces gars là déjà parce que j'ai pas le même matos mais c'est surtout histoire de casser le côté pur strat et ne pas être obligé de racheter une deuxième guitare ( même si on en a jamais trop) avec un humbucker ... Il faut aussi que je me prenne un multi effet mais les moyens sont limités quand même ...

    • @SimonBorro
      @SimonBorro 8 лет назад

      Sebastien Brus La meilleur des solution pour moi est de carrément voir si la défonce dans le corps le permet (ce qui est bon dans 90% des cas) prendre une plaque avec défonce ou agrandir la tienne pour y mettre un vraie double !
      Avec la possibilité de le splitter, dans ces cas là on garde la bobine externe (la plus proche du cordier) pour vraiment retrouver un son strat simple !
      Ces bases de son de : "humbucker sur strat" viennent en majorité de tonton Eddie qui avait tout simplement des strato avec du double en position bridge après tout !

    • @rickleblanc8900
      @rickleblanc8900 5 лет назад +2

      That's because it is a Ritchie Blackmore signature model. The moment there is an artist's name, the price goes up significantly. You can still get a mexican made Standard series or Player series Strat and save money. They sound great. And yes there's a lot of choices for the money, depends on the sound you want and the music you play.

      There are few things that increase the price compared to a regular MIM: extra labor to scallop the frets, nicer pickups, slightly more expensive wood, and as Rick mentioned, the name.

      Dani Garcia you can get a yngwie Malmsteen model USA made second hand for the same price of a new one of these. Even if you went new for $1,699 on a Malmsteen it’s still worth it. Fully scalloped neck, all three pickups working with either DiMarzio HS-3 or HS-4’s or the Seymour Duncan YJM fury’s.

    They were the best hard rock band .. ever. (The 1970 line up) and the evidence is the live album “Made in Japan” . The prog metal band Dream theatre re recorded the whole of MIJ .. give it a listen and you will realise just how good Purple were/are. DT don’t come close.

    Donc si je veux le son de blackmore des années 70-80 il faut pas prendre sa gratte signature???

    • @Neogeofanatic
      @Neogeofanatic  8 лет назад

      la guitare ne reste pas la même dans la carrière d'un musicien et quand on lui propose de faire un modèle signature il ne se base pas forcément sur le matos qu'il utilisait à une certaine époque.

    Hi. Those Seymour duncan mics sounds like the original Fender ones?

    • @Mrbadluck65
      @Mrbadluck65 7 месяцев назад +1

      Nope. Much higher output. But Ritchie didn't use high gain amps. He used the 200 w Marshall Major heads, modded to put out nearly 300 watts, but for gain, Ritchie used the quarter pounders or the 500T's and ran the guitar into an Aiwa reel to reel tape recorder as a preamp-booster.

    What is your band's name? Also why did you have the camera angle shot in a way so that nobody can see your face? Is it because you're just so self conscious that you don't want to be seen? If so, keep this i mind: Your playing is good. You have nothing to be embarrassed about but if you let your shyness keep you from showing the world your face, then you're really limiting your future possibilities! Be bold!

    No middle pickup, why don't they just make it with a 2 pickup scratchplate, lol.

    • @colinwhite9529
      @colinwhite9529 5 лет назад +1

      Well it gives you the option of adding a middle pickup... also probably just easier to use the stock plates.
