The older I get (and I'm old) the more I believe that today there are musicians who are as great as the classical masters but we generally don't know about them or their work. There are so many more things vying for our attention and so many more people . . . Even so, it's a delight to discover & re-discover such musicians as Randy Kerber. I think I first heard him on recordings with the late Don Ellis band. He was just a kid but that was an excellent place to be a young musician.
