- That's a wrap for the AE111 class in the 2021 Fuji Champion Race! Well, the high-revving NA sound of the 4A-G is great, not only for the HACHIROKU. This sound is so good that it can reach over 200km/h at the end of a straightaway, so it must feel great...but let's put that aside for a moment.
This concludes our report on Mr. Kanegon's AE111 in 2021, and we thank him for his hard work over the past year!
When we were approached, we were told that this Round 4 would be the target. That is why I had participated in Round 3 and was collecting data for this day... Mr. Kanegon had originally competed in FCR 20 years ago. I had to leave racing for a very good reason, but as a car enthusiast, AE111 enthusiast, and racing enthusiast, no matter how much time goes by, the fire in my heart has been smoldering for a long time.
I remember when I covered the N1 version of Kanegon's red AE111 at Haruna in 2020. He told me that he was not racing at that time and that he enjoyed tinkering with cars as a hobby.
In the spring of 2021, some months after I finished the interview and submitted the video. I quit Motorz and started my own personal channel. At that time, Mr. Kanegon contacted me again and said, "I'm going to race this year. I'm serious about building a car." I was so happy to hear from him.
This was the beginning of my return to FCR, and I decided to cover the Joy Endurance Race, a prelude to my return to FCR.
Two months later, I drove to Niigata to meet with Mr. Kanegon, and after taking pictures and hearing his story, I could clearly sense how serious he was about his work. I thought to myself, "This is something I have to follow seriously for a year.
I'll leave the details of the race for you to watch the video... Mr. Kanegon has always taught me the importance of "serious commitment" to the race.
Mr. Kanegon is not a race driver. He is a company employee. He is a privateer.
He is not a young man. He even has a child in junior high school.
But he has made up his mind to "win again the race he won 20 years ago," and he devotes all of his personal time to cars.
As we grow older, we become better at making excuses. I don't have time," "I'm tired from work," "Tomorrow will be fine. These were my usual phrases.
But Mr. Kanegon never said a word about such negative excuses. He was dedicated and devoted himself to the race, even sparing time to sleep. He devoted himself to both car building and practice.
And in 2021. He did what he said he would do, and tried racing for the first time in 20 years. As a result, I became fast enough to battle with people who have been at the top of the AE111 world for decades.
I got this result because I challenged myself. Because of this result, I can challenge again even more.
Age and time have nothing to do with taking on a challenge. Because the best time to start is always now. I feel that 2021 taught me such a lesson.
This video I made only captures a part of Mr. Kanegon's efforts, so I would be happy if you could meet him there in 2022, see him running, and feel his efforts.
I realized that I have written a long and incoherent article.
I only have one thing to say! I would be happy if many people know about this challenge and if more people support Mr. Kanegon!

むかーし111で某競技やってたけど乗りやすい車だったな。ガス欠症状がレギュレーション上改造出来ないんだったら他の車も同条件だしテスト不足でしたね。
追突させないようにとか気を使えるのは素晴らしい経験値ですね。

懐かしい感じです。コース改修前まで92でレース活動していたのでレース時のヒリヒリした感覚を思い出してしまいました。また参戦出来るといいですね！。

レースはやはりドラマがありますね
勝敗に関わらずに助け合ったり、親子の絆だったり、葛藤だったり
自分の気持ちよりも状況を瞬時に判断して完走に切り替えて他車を優先できるのも流石といった感じですね
結果として表彰台には上がれなかったけれども、出場して現場で走ってみて分かったことも多いでしょうし
ほんと意味のある走りだったと思います
そんな親父さんの背中を見ながら一緒に戦ってきた息子さんの活躍も見たいです

1000円ぽっきりの入場料だけで見られる富士のチャンピオンレースは、良いですよアマチュアとは言え、ギリギリの寸止めのクリーンなサイドバイサイドのバトルが堪能出来ます。レストランや売店の飯も美味いし、家族サービスにおススメ。

ガス欠症状が出た原因はなんでしょうね？
もし単純に軽量化の為に走り切れる分しか入れてない、コレクタータンクも付けてないってならない高速コーナーで症状が出て当たり前なんだけど
レギュレーション上付けられないなら2/3は最低入れて走らないと片寄りが起きてまたガス欠症状が出るよ
ヴィッツ東北出てたから少しでも軽くしたい気持ちはよくわかるよ
