This is the new, new age Hasid! The traveling, influencer, modern man who retains a very strong cultural distinction. He speaks Yiddish, eats only the most appropriate foods on shabbes, wears the Hasidic garb -- he's totally a Hasidic Jew from maybe Williamsburg or Boro Park! But he also loves to travel, uses a smartphone, is adept at live streaming culture, and wants to enjoy the finest luxuries when abroad. There are so many businesses cropping up for this new type of Hasidic Jew, and shabbes meals on the go is one of them.
Internally, there's surely a pushback against this new trend. Many in the community frown on this, and the obsession with gluttonous eating, called FRESS, raises a lot of eyebrows or sighs. So if you want to understand this world, you have to take the internet trends in context of the criticisms it gets in the Hasidic world.
Hello. To the inevitable question:
Do these ads air on TV? But I thought Hasidim don't watch TV?
No, they do not air on TV. They are circulated on the Hasidic internet. For more about the Hasidic internet, check out my in-depth documentary here:

For those who don't understand:
Since most items in the store are not Kosher,
the poor man had to resort to eating the few things that either have a hekhser,
or have no real need for certification. I.E Azume bread (matza),
Canned Sardines, cheap (second rate) grape juice and plain potato crisps.
The story of my life...
...but then he got wise and ordered from Greenfeld's, lol
It's just funny because there is so much kosher food in Miami. I know it's not the point of the ad but in real life he could have, just gone to one of the kosher supermarkets lol
There is literally Chabad everywhere
Ha - something I remember from high school German classes that is relevant here! Using "fress" for gluttony must come from the German verb fressen, which is used to describe animals eating their feed, like a cow chewing cud. Humans get the verb essen, which means "to eat". Animals "fressen", but we are supposed to be elevated beyond animalistic behaviors.
I love these commercials so much! It's really fascinating to watch how an insular community navigates modernity and finds a way to take advantage of modern conveniences without sacrificing the standards that their ancestors have held to for centuries. Thank you so much for sharing these!
I find it so interesting how he sprinkles English phrases in with his Yiddish
😮 omg! Thats sooo convenient! Wish we'd have something like that where we live.
What a genius business!
Traditional Catholic here, and we’re at about the same place. We keep children away as much as possible, but due to needing internet to run a business, go to school, participate in modern life, it’s impossible to ignore or shun entirely. There are men who become addicted to porn, young boys who get a look and want to know more, yes, even the occasional woman or girl who gets involved.
I love this commercial. I was not expecting the product! Wonderful! I hope it is a real delivery service. Happy Thanksgiving!❤
Oh I'm sure, like there aren't tons of kosher groceries in Miami. 🤣🤣🤣
Why are you pointing out the obvious, it’s ruining the ad for the rest of us 😂😂
@@FriedaVizelBrooklyn 🤣🤣🤣
Dang! I'm getting hungry! I could dig into one of those challahs, chicken soups, matzo balls, knishkes, and blintzes, yum! Too bad they don't deliver to my small Wisconsin town 😞 (all they have here is dumb pubs, bad beer and really fattening junk food)
Oh, that food! Yummmm! X
😂 love this!! Now i know what to do and who to order from! Todah!
I sure hope Greenfeld's paid for this ad.
adorable. there is something about the way chassidic ppl 'celebrate' (not fress!) their food that makes judaism so fun and welcoming

So cute 😂
I detest this current trend of backing rhythm track which has rapidly clapping/finger clicking sounds. It’s cringey as.
Trop drôle!
מיר האָבן בײַ אונדז כּשרע שפּײַזקראָמען און רעסטאָראַנטן. ניט קײן פּראָבלעם!!! דאָס איז מיאַמי נישט די לבנה.
LOL you are so right! But of course it’s mostly the women who truly know where to shop, and so a woman would know how to find kosher food in Miami:) I know many men do cook, but in this case, I think he is clueless🤓
Agree. It just seems to me maybe a more Jewishly isolated destination made more sense. Plenty of prepared food in Miami!!
@@Zelde-Mit kinda made it funnier!!!! Silly man:)🤪
It's just a commercial for kosher shabbos food. You don't have to pick it apart like a line in the Torah.
Oh my goodness, you people don't get it... It's an ad it's an ad for a particular BRAND!!!
The people walked less in the desert than this poor guy…for cr*p, lol😂
Ok aside from the fact that Miami is overrun with kosher food, there are Chabads like… everywhere. But the more important issue… who is this chasssidishe “influencer” (bc we KNOW everyone is on IG at the very least) who is alone on Shabbos? Generally those are the people who come to Miami Beach (my hometown) to ahem… “relax” but in sorta questionable ways. What is he really doing there by himself? THIS is what they want to promote in an ad? This is who they’re saying is their clientele? How about a frum businessman or woman who has to travel to a conference or whatever? Just basically anything other than this. It’s just SO many of the wrong messages. And compared to so many of the chassidishe ads, not even clever.
Very interesting comment. I think they are featuring an influencer because that's what people admire. Like... the cool guy who does videos. But the subtext for me is that he's not traveling alone, it's just easier to show it as a lone traveler. There's often an assumption in these ads that there's a family, but they just don't show the family.
@@FriedaVizelBrooklyn Gut voch ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I dunno, people do travel for business more than ever these days. And they want to hold winter and spring shows in attractive climates - who can blame them lol. Hope you Pesach prep is going well! (Back to the salt mines over here!)
