It would also have to be heavily modified to hold an airtight seal so that the gunpowder could get oxygen... Or of course use a different proppelent all together, which still requires modification.

Maybe the air around is only CO2 and so the plants can live but when they release oxygen, it doesnt stay around the planet. (I guess, im not that smart)

The same reason every alien planet in sci fi is either a rock quarry in wales or the undeveloped land at the base of some mountain in Japan
minecraft lol as long as it was carbon dioxide the plants woulda been fine. They dont need air to photosynthesize. Just water and carbon dioxide and sunlight. Now water on the other hand would probably be an issue
