I'm pleased to see this. I believe medical facilities refusing to give patients access to their medical records or delaying giving patients their records is a tactic they use to prevent patients from seeing the errors in their chart.
Its rediculous that patients cant walk out of the ER with their own labs values! Its also interesting that medical records can be released if the provider finds it to be in the best interest of patient.

Does a client need to sign a HIPAA release to get their own records?
Yes. It’s at the beginning. There is a request form for clients to sign.
How can I get the hand outs?
Sharing and vending of data by permission only, contact owner of said data and ask.
