Breaking: Lance Amstrong suing Tour de France for not allowing performance enhancing drugs.
Funny you put it that way. It means all clubs were allowed PEDs (spending whatever they want) until City arrived. Now I wonder what was different about City? Was it the amount they spend? Nope (Chelski).

The Cheats Strike Back
Christmas is in November this year them 115 charges are going to hit like crack 🎉🎉
I'm 60 years of age and can remember when football was fun and didn't revolve around huge amounts of money.
Everyone kicked off at 3.00pm on a Saturday afternoon, players by and large got on with it with no theatrical diving / rolling about 'injured ' and games ended at 90 minutes or a few minutes added on at most, and best of all, no VAR!....Nowadays we seem to spend as much time talking about FFP as we do the actual game and I'm sick of it!
did it not stink a bit when Jack Walker bought Blackburn and proceeded to annihilate transfer records? That was in the early 90s. You would've been in your mid-20s, surely you remember that? This is nothing new, financial doping has always existed. They're just being punished for it now, which is a good thing, it preserves the competitiveness if modern Jack Walker can't go and buy modern Alan Shearer by just throwing money at him.
@@defeatstatistics7413Alan Shearer cost about 3.6m which may have been a transfer record back then but it wasn't obscene like it is now. Nowadays clubs blow 30m on a squad player and 105m on mediocre players to warm the bench. Chelsea started the rot, City took it to another level.
@@Chris-oz9qx back then £3.6m was obscene though. Blackburn helped kick off the transfer arms race.
@@defeatstatistics7413 no it wasn't at all, the world record at that time was 13m for Lentini in Serie A. Fees in Serie A had been higher than 3.6m since 1984 when Maradona moved to Napoli. Waddle, Platt, Trevor Steven and Gazza all moved to foreign clubs between 1991 and 1992 for more than Blackburn spent on Shearer. What Jack Walker did at Blackburn compared to what Man City have done is like comparing a rival tour De France rider having a red bull to Lance Armstrong doing anabolic steroids and using a motorbike.
"How are we supposed to win if we can't break the rules? Without cheating Arsenal were only 2 points behind us last season. We need to inject another £500 million into the club's accounts to buy the league again".
Everything about that club is insincere and soulless. The only reason their fans don't recognise how meaningless their success is, is because they've never really experienced what genuine success feels like.
Premier League has to stop dragging its heels and hiding behind the classic ‘cogs of justice move slowly’ smokescreen.
The more time that passes after trophies that Man City win *on the field* further enhances their size, stature and makes all the runners up over the dubious years lose interest in whatever they feel they were owed.
If the PL think the Man City case is “complicated”, just wait until the deluge of claims if they’re ever found guilty.
Charges simply can’t last as “pending” for long. Let alone 115 charges.
Man City are already the 4th most successful English football club.
The longer this all drags on, the more established they’ll become. The more impossible this’ll be to rectify.
Why did they wait until now to launch legal action against the Premier League, regarding rules that they themselves broke? Why did not City launch legal action years ago? Hmmmm.
Had to buy enough bribes

This guy is such an embarrassment, he is literally defending City here. Painting a sob story for City at the end and then he said ''in an ideal world the rules will change''', then quickly added in ''depending how you look at it''. The rules where voted in so its not really a surprise that the club owned by an undemocratic authoritarian state are crying about it, they are used to being able to do what they want completely unchallenged. If City pull this off then the league is now unwatchable, why spend all that money watching rigged competition?
Why are they getting away with it and the likes of Everton and Nottingham forest get stung.. and why haven't they been dealt with already????

All part of breaking down relations with Man City and Premier League leading to Man City breaking away to start a super league with the other elite clubs set to follow.
Good luck playing in the Super League without the being in Prem or Champions League.
The Premier League's APT rules were originally introduced in December 2021 in the wake of the Saudi-backed takeover of Newcastle United. The regulations are in place to guard against clubs using sponsorship deals with companies linked to their owners to inflate revenue streams and allow more room for spending.
This legal action has nothing to do with the charges which all pre date 2019 and has no impact on them at all.
Thank for that bit of info.... 👍
The EPL taking so long to take action against city is a disgrace. Now city are turning the screws on them.
People don't realize this but City are extremely powerful and not only will they get away with it but there's a good chance they will win.
Nonsense. What, just because they have money? If the Premier League didn’t have something concrete and let City off, that SEVERELY damages the integrity of the brand and the league itself. If they convict them, it’ll keep clubs in line. If they don’t, it’s basically a free for all. It’ll be like the Wild West.
@@Discombobulate453 Let's hope they throw the book at them then.
@@Discombobulate453 I understand how the law works but I am not naive enough to not look past the fact that people in power tend to get away with a lot.
Outcome 1: MC are cleared of all charges; Outcome 2: MC are found guilty and handed a loose change fine, which they'll probably appeal; Outcome 3: MC are found guilty and stripped of the titles won during the period in question - never going to happen. Bottom line is they'll get away with it and will continue to do so. Much like a former US President.
Another take is that if found guilty, they'll continue to benefit from their rule breaking activities because the empire is now built. Much like an athlete who's banned for doping and is later allowed back who now benefits from the increased muscle mass built up whilst taking drugs.

Funny how people are calling them shameless when clearly what it looks like is city went by these rules and just had a higher spending limit within these rules in place.
The league has always been bought, it's how football has worked since forever. Sunderland were known as the 'Bank of England' club in 50s due to the excessive money they spent. Everton and Nottingham Forest also bought the league in 70s. Blackburn bought it in the 90s after Jack Walker pumped money into them. Now suddenly no one is allowed to pump money into a club because most of the 'Sky 6' have pulled the ladder up from behind them with stupid FFP rules. Meaning only the established clubs are allowed to spend.
If some billionaire wants to invest a ton of money into a club to try and bring success, why shouldn't they be allowed to do this? It's a free market isn't it?
In that case, clubs shouldn´t pay inflated transfer fees, they should be under the same rules, and that´s why City will win this case.. The PL are finished...
