A strong society and economy needs people with education. Even in non-academic professions, employees are better and happier if they are well trained, know what they are doing and have training opportunities and can thus advance in life. I'm not only German, I'm Bavarian, and as to beer: I once was at a hospital with a broken upper leg, so after surgery and three days of rest, they began with physical therapy and supplied me with a wheelchair. Guess what I found? A kiosk where they were selling BEER to visitors and patients alike! Of course they also had soft drinks, coffee and cake, newspapers and magazines, things a kiosk usually has, but I'd never expected to find BEER in a hospital. That was the only alcohol they sold, and to my disappointment, they didn't have cigarettes either. But the whole place just in front of the entrance was more like a small street café, it was so nice, I almost felt sad when they sent me home. And, as usual in Germany, my insurance paid for my surgery and stay, almost everything except the beer.

But it does not mean that the person is then free, the sentence imposed remains active and must be paid further after capture. Only for the escape there is no additional punishment.

There will be charges for that and there still is the original sentence they have to serve. It‘s just the wish/attempt to be free that won‘t be punished.
Alcohol consumption has been falling sharply here for years. Especially among young people. You can also find the most bread, sausage, beer, wine and cheese in the world here. Instead of bratwurst, I would recommend meatballs. You can also eat high-quality food outside here.
Alcohol: As far as I remember, the Youth Protection Act/Alcohol Serving Act was changed around 2010 so that only beer, wine and sparkling wine could be sold to 16 year olds. Previously, you could buy all other alcoholic drinks at the age of 16. But with the introduction of sweet alcoholic mixed drinks, there was excessive abuse by young people.

Also, your sentence stops ticking down when you escape. If you get caught and put back in prison, you resume your sentence with the same number of days left as on the day you escaped. If you steal a car to do so, the car theft will go to trial, will result in a sentence and that will be tacked onto your old sentence. However, if you manage to escape doing not a single illegal thing (e.g. by hiding in a stack of dirty clothes on the way to be washed) with 1000 days to go, manage to hide successfully for 5 years, then get caught, you get put in prison and the day after your recapture, your number of remaining days ticks over... to 999.
Calling germany "a true mobile nation" ... oh dear..... we have one of the worst mobile networks in europe, the most expensive mobile plans in europe and the ability to "do stuff mobile" is not given .. paying with you phone is just beginning to emerge ... and there are no notable "german mobile apps" or functions to speak of

Break out of prison is legal.But if you do crimes for break out, hurt someone, steal a car ,etc. etc. you get punished for that crimes.
and you still have to serve the rest of your sentence, easements will be taken away and so on... an attempted breakout has severe consequences
