Alexia Safieh is a writer, dancer, and reader. She discovered her love for reading two years ago when she had to read a book over school break. After reading for almost a year she discovered a new passion, writing. She attended Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan last year as a Creative Writing Major. She is currently working on her blog, and wants to enter writing competitions.

I got into reading after I decided to buy an English book to improve my vocabulary and grammer (English is not my native tongue). I chose Jurassic Park from Micheal Crichton. It was the best decision I have ever made.

Me. I was like this girl. I thought that I was the only one. I would refuse every guy because I hated to read. I still don’t want a guy because I used to be a bad reader. This girl makes sense. I really don’t care about whether someone reads or not. There was a kid in high school who could not read because he was into farming and had no time. Then I remember that Harriet Tubman did not read and she was considered important. She was quoted. Reading is overrated. Some of us have to work. In England, there was a man who wrote Oliver Twist. I guess that his frustrating life gave him creativity.

I was really enraged by how Alexia said you shouldn't read 1 book a week. I read 2-5 books a week, with each book being at least 350 pages.
