I feel like BMW did people a bit dirty by releasing this sometime after most of the people who were interested in the XM platform had already purchased the normal version.
100% they did them super dirty.
This is an absolutely normal behavior for every company.

For the price, it definitely isn’t. The X5M also looks so, so much better than this.
Just ask yourself why it is heavier? Because it is electric because you can drive full electric in town ! You want to look badass or you just want to look sporty? With this car, you have almost 3 ton luxurious truck and you can drive full electric without any noise in a city center and suddenly you shift to petrol and you have this V8 thar sounds way better than any X6M or X5M I can tell you.

I did 160 mph in a V6 VW Passat. I'm not that impressed that the XM could only get to 180 on the Autobahn.
It‘s about the acceleration to 180 in a 2.8 ton suv!
Heavy car but the power makes up for it still not that expensive when comparing it up against Lamborghini .

Bmw themselves call it the Label. Look at BMW M‘s RUclips channel and the configurator. It has the same 748HP and interior of the Label Red

An X5M or X6M is faster and a lot cheaper and easier to drive, better handling, better braking, easier to park, cheaper to insure, easier on the brake pads, but this car will obviously get you laid with sexy eastern european women or balkan women much more than you were getting already with an X5 or cheaper car...women love high end BMW's no matter what we think...expensive cars get you laid with hot women even more than you were already getting, that is obviously one of the main reasons for them to exist...
XM is nice but it is already a failure (from a sales point of view). Nice car, completely useless in the M model line (it would have made more sense to offer an X7 with that hybrid system). Already found a brand new one on the German BMW Online Store for around 180k EUR. NEW!!! Most of them are still sold over 210k EUR but these prices are never really achievable. The prices are going to come crashing down in Europe, also because this car is not as "accepted" as an off-roader as the G class is. Sad. M GmbH didn't "need" this SUV, a X7 M or a X5 M Label would have made much more sense.
Hardly anyone takes German SUVs off-road. Even in Dubai they prefer to use Toyotas off road. These high market SUVs including the XM are produced in limited numbers for exclusivity. Both Mercedes Benz and BMW have more capable SUVs in their range.

Bmw has sold 1000s of them already (bmw employee here). More than on target.
The Alpina version make more sense and it s faster. ;)

It‘s a car that weighs 300 KG MORE THAN A G63 !
Please define "normal BMW". A 320i / 530d / X5 40i can't do 290.
It should have atleast gone till 310 Km/h considering it's competitors already goes above 300 km/h also adding to the fact it's a limited production car with jacked up power and torque with hybrid and pays homage to the original M1 so the company could have raised their bars higher with this opportunity.
