Empire Total War - Fixing Low Graphics Issue. Enable High and Very High.

I recently started to play Empire Total War on my new laptop with an i7 processer, 16GB RAM and Intel's Iris Xe graphics. However, I encountered an issue where the 'High' and 'Very High' options were not available, even though my laptop's specification is more than adequate. Only the 'Low' and 'Medium' options were available. It appears that the game will not automatically use all of the available memory, and a modification of a script file is required.
