    Great video! I picked a MX650 up for my grandson in the late fall. The battery was pretty much done. I told him we'd put a better battery setup in there by spring. We'll his birthday is coming up and your video made me confident in going 48v and doing the wiring. Thank you for this and your links.

But I don’t know what battery to get bc the battery from electric and co is kinda pricy and I want more ah. But don’t know what battery to get I want more like 72v 32ah but under 1k.     Great video! I would definitely use flux when soldering. It transfers the heat to metal super fast.
    Then you don't have to worry about melting the connectors. 🤓👍

    Second! Great video i have been looking for a video like this. Does this come with a bms, how do you know how much charge the battery has? I have those two wire volt meters with the simple display but don't know where to hook it up at, any advice?

      Thanks Billy! The battery has a built in BMS. In this bike I do not have a volt meter wired in. I will do that soon. I actually have a video on wiring up a volt meter! check out the library of videos, its probably 3-5 vides down on the list. Hope it helps.

    Stupid question. 48v battery on 36v speed controller. Wouldn't you go faster if you replaced the controller with 48v controller so more amps would go too the rear motor .

      How long a battery lasts depends on a ton of variables. To many to count or to give you an honest answer. Takes about 4 hours to charge with this battery

      A little later in the video i mentioned how I did that. I use very large vip ties to hold it all in. OR you can use Velcro straps 🍻

    Voltron is the man! Thanks for great video man! I just installed a 48volt battery on my son’s Sx500 and all works great until you put a load on the bike the battery seems to lose connection. I am thinking it might be a bad 36v controller. Any ideas on what is happening? Thanks again Voltron!

    Can I run this battery but instead of 1 with 2 in parallel boss ? And if so would the charger you have linked work to charge them still?

    Alright. So I got all the parts. The batter is all hooked up. The wheel turns. I also bought that throttle setup with the key. The problem is the stock throttle plug has 6 wires with 6 prongs inside the plug. And the new throttle has 5 wires that go into 3 prongs on it's plug. Can you please tell me how to match them up so I don't mess anything up?

      There are heat activated connectors that you could use. Would require a heat gun tho.

      I’ve been running 48v on a 36v system for a while with no issues. I have no idea how long it will last tho. My kids ride them mostly in this form so the bike is not moving a heavy load either. Thank you for your support of the channel as well! 👊

      I think you would have better success with that. No retelling how long the motor will last when it’s over volted. But should work

      Thanks for watching!👊 seats for the SX are hers to find and I don’t know if any aftermarket. Most add foam and recover their stock seat to get a more comfortable ride. I have a video on that btw. 🇺🇸🍻

      In some cases, totally. But we’re safe over volting the 36v system by 12v only 👌

    Great info video!! Definitely upgrading to lithium since our batteries are dead. Probably stick with 36v only because my youngest girl will be learning on this little sx500 bike. Do you have any info of where to grab brake pads or upgraded brake parts?

      They have been few and far between lately. There are other alternatives tho. SKUD is a black hard shell battery that’s similar and Amorge has super great batteries for a good price!🍻

      Over time it may. But we have safely been over volting bikes for a couple years now and no issues

      Depends on weight of the rider, terrain, throttle manner, elevation gain ect… typically in the 12-16 mile range for an adult
