My dog just had this unfortunate accident. He will undergo surgery soon. Watching this video helped to inform me a lot. Thanks.

@UaeNaruto no, it shouldn't. talk to your vet about your specific case.

Thanks for the video, just want to know a bit more. My Jack Russel / Border Terrier cross has just had this operation. She is very active dog jumping around like a mad thing and does everything at full speed. She would hold her leg up when trotting or running but walked ok on it. Did not stop her jumping up and down a lot. The x ray showed that it was damaged, she also has some early signs of arthritis in the same leg. She's only 7.

Our mastiff needs surgery b/L on his knees. He has extensive osteoarthritis and scar tissue around his joints. He was a rescue and we just found out about his knees. Is there anything else you can recommend besides surgery? What are your thoughts? Thank you.

Could a small cut on a pad also have your dog limp? Mine limps and holds her back paw up and sometimes when on grass she will run and walk on it like nothing, but once on the sidewalk she holds it up.....also would rest help meaning not let her run and play help? she is a year old?
