I would have been very disappointed to get that meal. It would have been returned and a photo and letter sent to head office/ management.
I mean we call it’s fast food, but thanks to the air fryer & if you can be bothered it’s faster at home…and cheaper, and healthier! No contest really.

Yes but what about the flavours? Firms like McDonalds and KFC spend years developing their flavours and I imagine they will beat the home made versions.

Hi Martin and Sharon, a good comparison with the McDonalds and Kfc, yours won hands down. But i don't think it was a good comparison with the pizza as you bought the cheapest base there was and just put basic stuff on the top it would have been better to copy one off the menu with the equivalent decent stuff. I've just bought two Lloyd Grossman pizza based from tesco, they were 2.50 down to 1.50 and i bought a bag of cooked prawns for 3.15 for a 170g packet, plus other bits to go on it

Small tip if doing this put the chicken and the bread crumbs in a ziplock type bag as will coat it better
How does it coat it better?
We do fast food as just that. Fast food. No cleanup, no shopping, no cooking. Usually we are on a drive and not brining it home. Of course homemade is cheaper per meal, but you have to buy all 4 burgers all 4 buns, the whole bag of fries, buy ketchup, buy onions, buy cheese. Buy the whole pack of chicken, the seasoning, the oil. Then cooking each separately and cleaning up after. Water, dish soap, time and effort.
Its why you go to the RAGGED APRON for breakfast. More expensive but no effort.

Btw...i love my dual zone Ninja. Use it all the time. Got it because of you guys. Just want to be fair. You pay for convenience.

Well, the homemade fakeaway looked far more appealing than the takeaway. The way they presented the KFC was like it had been in that box for a week. As for Macdonalds there fries are never that good unless you ask them to make them fresh. Good job guys.

Bigger shock for me was the price of McDonald's and KFC these days. When I do have take out I use the local one in the village. Way better value than the big franchises.

Not a fair comparison you haven’t added the wages and the cost of power and taxes the fact you are enable jobs McDonald’s burger is 100 % pure beef not like burgers you get in supermarkets and some butches the bun in maccas is toasted good to see you both back

That was interesting. You have to add the cost of petrol and electricity for a more accurate one. Also time. But you haven't got all day. I don't eat takeaway. I actually cook properly. The smell turns my stomach.xxxxx

I love chicken thighs cooked in my dual Chefree, which I bought after seeing your demo last year. Still as good as when I bought it and still so easy to clean, best no stick coating I have ever owned. I must get some of that Paxo KFC type coating. All that food looked delicious. Nice to see you both happy and back in the kitchen. I've never liked the trashy food from any of the big chains so I always use a local cafe, like your Ragged Apron, or a fish and chip shop if I can't eat at home, or bring my own food on a journey. Even the budget meat and pizza Sharon cooked looked so much better than the 6 times more expensive offerings from the big boys. Far less oil and salt too. Sad Little Frank chose the nasty burger. I'd have binned it!😅
