I strongly recommend bumping the game down to normal difficulty. Yes, Veteran is supposed to what way the game is meant to be played on, but the game is also meant to be played with 2 other people controlling your NPC companions. With just the two NPCs Veteran is a *very* frustrating experience, especially when you get into the later levels. Normal is still challenging enough to be rewarding without being complete BS. Great to see you playing this! Definitely gonna check out the next video
The bolter is a .75 caliber self propelled armor piercing mass reactive high explosive projectile. That means that a powder charge accelerates the projectile to supersonic speeds, likely around 1100 feet per second, the rocket motor in the projectile ignite, adding spin and speed, meaning the preferred engagement range for bolters is at least 25 yards and beyond, closer and they don’t have maximum speed. The projectile itself is tipped with dimantine (space diamonds) allowing it to penetrate most armor provided it has enough speed. The explosive payload is mass reactive, meaning that when the shell finds itself embedded in something that has a significant enough mass, like a fleshy body, it detonates, with approximately equivalent force to something like n m80 firecracker. It’s not a frag grenades, but enough to rip apart organic material from the inside out. If you were holding one when it went off in your hand, you’d lose your hand but you’d probably live. The heavy bolter is much looser in its canon size, with some being the size of Red Bull cans, and others being just a 1.0 caliber shell with a heftier powder charge to make the projectile much faster.
this is going to be dope, It would be incredible seeing you delve deeper into the warhammer universe, there is so many different organisms in warhammer also a really cool detail in the game, when you kill one of the larger tyranids all the smaller ones around it dies with a electric effect as it disrupts the connection of the hivemind.
41:01 if you're curious, thats a cherub, a lab grown creature made to resembel the child like cherubs of our time(atleast they try to) which then get heavily augmented and used for stuff like helping manage the ministorums documents, helping with psycher abilities, the likes (the task they will get will determine the augmentation , kinda like the lobotomized servitors)

I expect it'll take us a week (maybe 2) to get through all 3 videos with all the times I will have to pause so he can go on a 20 minute tangent about heresy or whatever else comes up. I find it funny Roanoke says British people miss spell everything, while completely ignoring the fact UK English has been spoken and written far longer than American English.
If you pause the game by pressing the controller equivalent of ESC on keyboard, you can see the move set of melee weapons. Also there's lots of semi hidden areas along the pathways that give different weapons, health, ammo etc.
Gants are like 6 foot velociraptor with guns for hands that shoot parasite that bore into your flesh and explode. And then there are millions of them running down at you with no regard for their deaths. Consider how cool these cadians would for fighting the tyranides
I thought that the combat and look of the game felt a bit similar to Doom Eternal, and it’s because Tim Willits was the lead dev for both games. He was with id Software from its founding until just a few years ago when he left for Saber

The Bolter is basically an over glorified 20mm or 12 Gauge Shotgun shell. It's really not big and powerful enough as is to do what it does in game, but it's a setting not made by people who know about guns and calibers.
@@Arctic9000 no it isn't. It fires a 75 caliber round which is literally the same diameter as a 12 gauge shotgun slug. It doesn't fire 30mm anything unless you're specifically talking about bigger bolt guns that use bigger rounds.
@@90bubbel60 yes but IRL those particular rounds didn't take off for a reason, they weren't reliable. Now yes this is 41st century technology but even then they could be using something with more umph.
If you're wanting to study the live tyranids better, there is a photomode you can use. The pause menu allows you to access it.

Im pretty sure velociraptor with a gun is the plot line for the next jurrassic world.
ANd a bolter round is about the size of a redbull can.
In lore they're only 75 cal which is about 18mm, so slightly bigger than a 50 cal
Also they are self propelled, armor piercing, and have a delayed explosion after piercing the armor or in some cases bodies of the enemy.

You can do something longer than everybody else and still be bad at it.
Make sure to check around in all the corners and little spots off the beaten path. you'll find health packs and data slates for lore tidbits.

No it's not. Bolters fire 2 stage rocket propelled .75 caliber ammunition. It's literally an automatic rpg slinging close to 30 mm metal slugs.
