@@meathir4921 Guilty Gear, BlazBlue, KoF, etc would disagree. Those games pretty much have zero casuals and survive on their merit alone. Soul Calibur isn't at the level of Street Fighter / Tekken / Mortal Kombat. They don't have the same budget or manpower, which also means they don't have the same financial expectations. For example, Tekken 7 is considered successful for selling 2 million copies, while SF5 is a disappointment for also selling 2 million copies. The measure of success is relative.
But back to my original point, you're comparing apples to oranges. That would be like blaming a new Metallica record selling poorly on Britney Spears releasing an album around the same time.
Yeah but Namco/Bandai is already threatening that if SC6 does kill it in sales, theyre done with the franchise. So it has to do better than at least Tekken 7 and Street Fighter 5.

I made a Darth Maul using Groh! It really works for the character visually. Groh has an alternative dual saber that I turned red for Maul’s light saber and yeah not an actual light saber and you can’t alter the weapon sounds but it does still look cool and Groh’s move set compliments Darth Maul in a lot of ways
Makes me wish they had Darth Maul in SC4 instead of The Apprentice.

Yeah, the net code for SCVI is some of the best I've seen in fighting games, I've only had like 3 or 4 laggy matches and I've played maybe a total of like 50

This game has the best netcode I’ve experienced by far. I’ve had 3 bar matches that felt like the person was sitting next to me in a local match. Considering I live in Hawaii and we never get a good connection with anyone, I’m glad I can hop online and play some good matches in this game
In the libra of souls, Groh is like a fast flashy character if you ain't carefull with his combos.

Groh is probably better than knightmare and his stances and moves have less openings, also his soul charge is a lot better

I main nightmare
if there is one thing I learned in all my time with sc5 it is that if you ever play def with nightmare then you are playing him wrong... don't know how well it translates here but he seems very similar
you have fast punch to start hit chain on fast characters you have dropkick and blade drop/ spinflip slice (last one super conditional) to avoid dangerous low attacks and all the rushdown potential in the game, an excellent stun along with the burst counter to punish weak fast hits AS WELL AS some of the best block punishing grabs in the game he is an actual monster now with GIs not costing meter all the better BUT
where he has been weak is with his horizontal attacks (square on ps controller) they are slow easily blocked/avoided they are hard for him to follow up with grabs when blocked and easy to tell which way to sidestep (watch the stance) and punish he can get around this with his bubble or GI/ perfect just guard you wait a sec, ult, grab or low and he then has to make a snap decision that will cost him even if he plays it right because in that moment he has to be that much better than you
I think dynasty warriors characters as dlc would be great for this game. Js since lots of games are doing crossovers.
Watching these makes me think it would be fun to play this online but I know I would get destroyed so fast

I haven't played online due to some problems in life, but Groh is sick. I didn't try him during the NT and I used only Talim. I still will use her, but man Groh feels great.

I finally decided to play online last night after a few hours with groh and just decimated people. Groh mind games to stronk.
The reason maxi does more damage on a string of attacks is because a lot his moves are "Special" based on the stance you come out of. If you look real close during your very first fight against that maxi he'll swing the nunchucks back to start a new stance as an example. Which should be considered a stance.

Whats funny is groh is basically patroklos. Him and patroklos share many moves so in a way patroklos(my side character) is popular finally.

That 3 hit move Kilik used at 4:10, I thought they removed that one, it was my favourite attack in SC3 but couldn't see it in the command list for 6.

I've noticed the AI on this is pretty good at working critical edges into launch attacks; it's a reliable way to land supers.

it is mad how the online players favouritism of characters differ so much between regions, many US streamer I watch talk about the amount of Maxi's they get but in Eu I hardly ever get Maxi's but 80% of my opponents are Geralts, like a stupid amount of Geralts online over here.
Maxi give Max a good fight, so fun match, then Siegfried beat and ring out Groh like crazy and after jump for him to take his soul. And last but not least afro acolyte, that like swim but only without hood.
Groh is faster, flexible, cool new character, will be glad to see him more.

I'm trying to get better at avoiding attacks and would like to know do you sidestep on reaction or do you predict?
For most attacks, you're doing it on prediction. Only a few attacks can reliably be avoided on reaction, but they usually aren't meant to be casually thrown out anyway.
What he said. For example, I sidestep reversal edges from reaction since they take a while to hit. Everything else is pretty much prediction unless I see a slow vertical.

Damnit I always wanted to create my own fighting game and have a character with a double edged sword... oh well I was inspired by Tira’s and Setsuka’s weapons/fighting styles and would probs try and incorporate them into my game so who I guess as long as I give credit where it’s due it’s just inspiration? I hope so lol...other weapons I want to include are a Morningstar mace, Chinese hook swords, Egyptian cane (like the pharaoh’s have) and sickle, and a shield by itself (instead of a character like Sophitia who has both, have two characters that are related yet split up so one takes the shield and the other takes the sword). I’m probs giving away all my ideas oh well lol I probs won’t ever actually be able to create my own fighting game as technical and strong as Soul Calibur series 😂
They should get a fire emblem character in this game instead of smash bros. It feels much more fitting... Plus a character with a counter seems pretty dope.

What scares me about wanting to pick up Maxi, is from what I've seen at least, he doesn't seem to have many true combos, he seems to be more of a stray hit to stray hit to kill.
