Going to send a somewhat positive spin on this question. I used to be horribly addicted to alcohol. It was something I couldn’t shake. During this time, I ordered delivery and was happy to pay the fees rather than risk destroying my car, hurting someone else, or worse, by drunk driving. It was only all of you delivering that gave me this option to stay home and keep myself and others safe until I finally checked into rehab. Been sober for awhile now, and though I don’t order out anymore, y’all helped get someone like me through a very tough time.
Honestly there are so many reasons people will do this type of order. Maybe car is in the shop and haven't been able to get to store, maybe they are handicap and can't drive. I mean really so many reasons why people order. And I am thankful for them all because it all equals work for the drivers😊
Just don’t judge people . Look I agree , fees are ridiculous. But with dash pass and promotions , I’m sure it help cuts the fees some. We don’t know people circumstances . I’m grateful for this work. I’m not going to bash on it
Lou i dont drive so i order delviery and take public transport and eat out. The money i save on car payment, insurance, and gas/maintenance i spend on the other stuff. Just a different way to look at it
I don't think it's so much addiction as it's convenience. Paying so much to have 1 burger delivered isn't financially practical, but the overwhelming majority of people aren't financially practical. They're home, watching tv/surfing net etc., whip out their phone, order that burger they want and in 30 minutes they go to their front door and simply pick up their burger that's been dropped off for them while wearing their PJs. Takes no effort on their part to do and if you're working and earning even the average salary in this country it's easy to think nothing of paying $12 for a burger, so that's why I believe they do it.
Lol btw cats actually do care depending on your cat. My cat Vos is a snob, and honestly, it's really annoying. She only likes specific brands, and she prefers to lick the juice and only eat a tiny bit of the food itself, so unfortunately she's a very wasteful snob. She's very spoiled but she's my fur child so I put up with it~

Awwww the possum isn’t gross they’re actually really sweet and passive and super good for the environment! 🤣
There was a guy in front of me that ran a red light today at an intersection. I was thinking that if this guy can’t see a red light then he definitely needs to go see my cousin who is an optometrist to get his eyes checked.
You can thank Amazon/technology of phones/computers/fast food...etc. A lot of people are addicted to convenience and order from so many places from their phones and it doesnt sting from a money standpoint initially because its digital payment, and they don't physically feel or see the money leaving their hands. I would make a guess that a very high % of people that order regularly from these apps do not have a strict budget. People are obviously free to spend on whatever, but it does make me feel bad delivering to a house where you know they are not in the best place financially, and they tip really well, as they need the money more than I do.
I used to have a problem with ordering food, but it was more of a roommates problem. I had roommates once that would take an hour each to make their dinner. When I got home from work I would have to wait 2 hours before I could even get in the kitchen to make food. So I had to rely on doordash just to get a ready to eat meal in a timely fashion. When I moved into my own place I rarely needed to use the apps. Now I only use it once every couple months for special occasions.
Here’s my 2 cents : Doordash rolled out to change the dynamics of delivery and tipping. To them it’s acceptable to tip pre delivery instead of how we did always did it. Also the newer generation doesn’t know or understand how we did things and thinks it ok to get a $6 hamburger delivered for $20 . Also , If you have moms debit card , It’s free money!
Cats can be so picky. Mine used to refuse pate and only eat the chunky kind. Now she refuses that and wants Pate. Also she will only eat certain kinds of pate. Then stops eating that flavor. So I understand why people care what they get on that kind of thing. Frustrating to open a can and it go to waste.
So many reasons people do food deliveries. I am a part time Spark driver and Door Dash dasher. I have a W2 and do the gigs in my spare time. But I use Walmart delivery lol I think it’s genius! I would rather pay a few dollars to have someone bring me my groceries because I hate to shop and in the long run I actually save money because there are no impulse purchases lol Door Dash is a luxury for me. Maybe once in a while when cooking just don’t sound fun and neither does getting out in the cold, sure, Door Dash to the rescue! Addiction for some? Maybe? It’s just easy. You tap a few keys and poof.. food is outside lol My opinion of the picky lady! She prob don’t have anyone to help her and don’t drive and to get to the store might mean having to call a cab or taking a bus. Delivery is just better in her situation… but she could be a tad nicer 😩
I know alot of people who order don't have a vehicle or live in walking distance to a restaurant or store. And then there is me who has never ordered from any food delivery service.
No reason an able-bodied person with transportation would order via delivery unless um... impaired! That said, my AP's (aged parents) are effectively shut-ins now and having something special delivered once a week or something is a special occasion for them. That said, shopping and such is MY job. They order from specialty restaurants that appeal to them at dinnertime, not a bunch of stuff from a store. But hey, if they want to pay and you want to do it, a win-win situation. Haha, Mary! "You can't..." Uh... she just did so, yes she can! Safety first. No road rage or shooting allowed.
I deliver for door dash but I have ordered several times myself. I have ordered food about 5 times total whenever I was at work and couldn't leave for whatever reason to go get my own lunch. And one time I dashed from Dollar General because I was completely out of cat food and I couldn't drive myself because my car was at the shop. But I definitely made sure to order over $12 so that I wouldn't pay fees (with my dash pass) lol.
I just started doing gig work, and the orders that come in are terrible, I don't know how people get top dasher. I did have someone raise their tip on Uber from $9 to $17 though 😊
I know personally I will order delivery if I'm having a really bad day and I don't wanna leave the house. But that's mental health reasons, and I always tip really well cause I know I'd want a good tip. I think a lot of people are probably lazy and don't wanna have to drive. There are definitely people addicted but I bet a majority are just lazy.
I don't circle around and around. I get out with my phone and run up and down the parking lot screaming "I WANT ORDERS! I WANT ORDERS! GIMME ORDERS!" I only get a few strange looks.
I do not use the apps often. I tend to just go get my takeout but I get why some people do. Have a house full of kids and do not want to cook things along those lines
I figure that people can spend their money on what they want to spend their money on. Who am I to judge? This might all be coming to an end, anyway, if the new independent contractor statute stays in place. Enjoy the extra money while you can.
It’s call lazy and I’m that lazy person lol I do a lot of doubles at work and my day off I wake up like I need my Dunkin coffee. It’s cost me so much for 1 coffee and I always tip 5.00 0.5 miles from my house walking distance smh 20.00 down the drain but I work hard enough. Just lazy don’t wanna get dress and move my car and lose my parking spot so I order
Lou had me cracking up when he was talking about shopping at Walmart lol 😂. I remember that one video where he got kicked out of Walmart for filming lol.
I only order doordash if I have a gift card. Very rarely do I order with my own money. I'm a college student and I used to live on my own. I had a job but my paychecks were for my car payment. I have like no extra money to order doordash all the time. I just moved home and my parents live out in the country so now the delivery fees are way too expensive to justify have someone else delivery my food. So I go out and get my own food if I really want it
Totally agree about the cat food we had one order where we had to replace the one she wanted finish shopping and she sent a text asking if they had a different kind so went back and got that for her. Honestly don’t believe that cat really cares 😂😂 like Lou said as long as it’s fed. Great vid as always 💪🏼💪🏼
"I want it now!" Is what it is. I have delivered to some, and I can tell, an overweight person comes to the door, dressed like crap, and just in need of some snack.
Welcome new member! I think I go on Doordash 5 times a week, put stuff in the cart, reach checkout, and then cancel once I see the fees. Even with Doordash Pass sometimes it's just insanity and not worth. More places need to be like Dominos and just do their own deliveries again. That short term memory gets worse and worse as we get older! I easily forget things within 30 seconds lol. My cat went through phases; some months she would only eat chicken wet food and other months fish, so I kinda get it? But they have variety boxes you can buy to make life easier lol. To only get 1 of each flavor is just weird. I am an after 8:30pm eater cause I don't wake up until then! Graveyard shift is fun haha. Entertaining as always, love you guys!
I multi app plus have regular job. If you believe it’s an addiction, aren’t you helping with the addiction? I have a philosophy, most people are lazy and lazy people make me money.
Bashing someone for ordering a burger yet you're getting paid to do it lmao. You don't know people's situations, maybe they were sick, drunk, disabled, etc. Let people do what they want with their money you're not their parents
I can’t bring myself to order food delivery based on the fees. I can’t justify paying that money for convenience. I’m perfectly able to go out myself to get anything I want so I do!
If they are addicted and they want to cut the costs, they should just sign up for the monthly services (uber one, etc.) which could waive the fees. In the long run, people would save and be able to put a NORMAL tip amount. Customers need to understand that tips are used to BID for a driver to want to pick up the order. Customers are competing with other customers to get their orders fulfilled quickly. Being cheap about the tip puts your order on a lower priority across all drivers and you will more than likely not get your food or if you do, it will be cold and stale. Customers that don't tip need to be denied access to complain about drivers and services rendered. Fortunately I go to areas that people are raised right and give some sort of a tip. Its pretty rare I'd get no tip orders.
I think its absolutely a problem. I think during the pandemic they got this money, told to stay home. Now they have gotten used to that convenience yet their ability to pay for these apps fully including tips have gone down. Unfortunately i dont think it will change. People are creatures of habit. And they made a habit of it. They have become extremely entitled as well. Everything is a click away now. Instant gratification is a huge issue even with kids/teens and adults. The pandemic changed so much. Not just with food service. The way kids behave in schools. Its so much different. The way adults and young adults behave in public in general.
For my very first dd order it was a crappy alcohol order but since I didn't want to decline and have my percentage drop on my very first order I took it! Mistake! I had to drop off at a truck stop, instructions said "white truck parked in gas station" when I pulled up I saw a white truck parked in front of the gas station so I got off and this guy was friendly said hi and I asked him for his id cuz I had his order. He said I didn't order anything and I said r u sure? It says white truck parked in front of gas station. (He was kinda smiling so I thought he was messing around.) anyways it wasn't him and he was flirting with me asked for my number I ran to my car called the customer who was parked BEHIND the gas station and when he meant "white truck" he meant a white SEMI truck! 😑 I was so embarrassed and mad I took the order. That was has got to be up there in embarrassing drop offs lol
Why do you care what people order as long as you're making money If you didn't take those orders you'd be sitting in the parking lot complaining about Not making money
Long Island Yentas ….. at it Again !!! Less complaining & bitching …. Thank God for Customers who Order .. proper placements & comments on Their texts … Go a looong way for increased Tips $$ 😉👌
Also, the new pay scale in New York (not in Long Island tho), now you're getting paid $29.93 per hr of active time. I ordered food, and now if I want to tip, I have to wait till after the delivery is made, go back into the app and add it. I think the companies making it harder for people to tip is a passive aggressive move on their part, like trying to lower driver pay some how. These companies, notably Doordash, reports record earnings every quarter, like....in the BILLIONS, last quarter alone reported revenue of $2.2 BILLION dollars....and they DECREASED delivery fees each step of the way. Earnings going up quarter after quarter, delivery fees going down quarter after quarter. It started in CA, NY is now forcing them to pay up, and Seattle has joined the fray too. Soon, just about every major city is going to require these delivery companies to pay a wage because with the money they generate it's absurd to see how despite the rising revenues how they decrease the pay to the drivers who are actually doing the work. Anyway, good video as always
I mean you also forget to tip sometimes and you guys admit that. Not all times ppl have money to tip I drive all the time sometimes same person tip sometimes doesn’t. Who am I to judge in what situations they are in that’s why they made this apps to begin with to help out. I usually don’t take the order unless they add promo I’m pretty sure drivers does the same thing.
I tend to agree with Mary, that it's laziness. Last weekend, I went to CVS for one bottle of Aquafina water. I got paid $30 to deliver it 2.8 miles. Have to wonder what the heck that customer was thinking!
Great video. Lookin sharp with the new cut man. Mary pretty as usual too. You make a great point about how its an addiction that MAY have stemmed from the lockdowns/covid. Its like their subconsciously unknowingly permanently traumatized. Ive only been doing instacart for about 3-4 weeks now, but ive noticed theres like 4 categories of customers so to say.. generally speaking of course.. 1 being the disabled / elderly who genuinelyneed the service (love getting those customers feels good) 2 teenage/ younger adult just being quintessentially lazy 3 the parent trying to save time /make family dinners (most common) 4 the super picky non gmo this non gluten that, theyll have comments on every item, trigger happy with low rating typa customer
Hi 👋😐 I have been E-bike Dashing for 2 months & DD suddenly deactivated me & can't give me a reason. They have 4 more Business days to give or get sued.
Going to send a somewhat positive spin on this question.

Yeah, some people dont drive. What they save on driving they spend on cabs, bus and delivery
Car payment 700 month and insuramce 200 month plus gas. U talking $1k a month to own a car
Lou is getting so good at recognizing the products in the store. Y'all are getting so much faster with the shopping!!!
I think that is so rude having you deliver to a back door with no lighting. And dangerous. People are so oblivious.
Lou i dont drive so i order delviery and take public transport and eat out. The money i save on car payment, insurance, and gas/maintenance i spend on the other stuff. Just a different way to look at it

True. Good to have around. I'm in a rural area and we have a ton of critters and rarely do any cause trouble.
They eat ticks , very useful animal.
There was a guy in front of me that ran a red light today at an intersection. I was thinking that if this guy can’t see a red light then he definitely needs to go see my cousin who is an optometrist to get his eyes checked.
My 19yo nephew orders all of the time. He lives with mama and doesn’t have bills. He paid $15 for a bag of candy once.

Lou, you know that every dasher hates going to wingstop, and you still order from there. That's ruthless 😅

Yessss my situation exactly
My 18 year old cat who passed away in October was the pickiest cat ever. She only liked certain flavors of food.
Sorry to hear she passed away 😞
Here’s my 2 cents : Doordash rolled out to change the dynamics of delivery and tipping.

I would say,who cares why they order, just as long I can deliver it.And oh I love you guys...
Those hissing freezers do an awesome impression of Lord Darth Vader.
I deliver for door dash but I have ordered several times myself. I have ordered food about 5 times total whenever I was at work and couldn't leave for whatever reason to go get my own lunch. I actually got $50 from a class action lawsuit for them overcharging for tuna and canned chicken. It was in the state of Washington.
It’s call lazy and I’m that lazy person lol I do a lot of doubles at work and my day off I wake up like I need my Dunkin coffee. These customer addictions mean improving the personal economies of all drivers. No issues or problems with their "addiction" to delivery services.
I think where the issue becomes a problem is when that addiction is at the expense of the tip
I have walked across or down the street with orders in our small downtown more than once. Crazy.
Idk I had a really picky cat once
"I want it now!" Is what it is. I have delivered to some, and I can tell, an overweight person comes to the door, dressed like crap, and just in need of some snack.
At least y'all get promos, I haven't gotten one in probably 2 months and when I do it's like $52 for 5 batches
Wow that offer is rude! Instacart makes no sense. Should just have the same offer for everyone
I think you two would benefit from having a flashlight
Where your flashlight lol really lady should have lights out there
yall in the cat food aisle has me dead 💀 lou you’re hilarious 😂
If you order often your in restaurant receipt will not match the DD receipt
Bashing someone for ordering a burger yet you're getting paid to do it lmao. You don't know people's situations, maybe they were sick, drunk, disabled, etc. Let people do what they want with their money you're not their parents
They complain about everything
I can’t bring myself to order food delivery based on the fees. I can’t justify paying that money for convenience. I’m perfectly able to go out myself to get anything I want so I do!
I do think there’s something to moving around getting the orders I find that in my area this is the case
Its pretty rare I'd get no tip orders.
I’ve noticed a lot of the people that order every day are the ones that don’t tip also
I think its absolutely a problem.
That was has got to be up there in embarrassing drop offs lol
Why do you care what people order as long as you're making money If you didn't take those orders you'd be sitting in the parking lot complaining about Not making money
Why judge? We don’t know the situation
Long Island Yentas ….. at it Again !!! Less complaining & bitching …. Thank God for Customers who Order .. proper placements & comments on Their texts … Go a looong way for increased Tips $$ 😉👌
There are basically 5 different sub categories of doordash customers. I serve 2 of those sub categories.
yes i am
Responsible people dont live beyond their means and don't need to do gig work after their full time jobs...ouch...😅
Also, the new pay scale in New York (not in Long Island tho), now you're getting paid $29.93 per hr of active time. Exactly what I do. I get to checkout and it's 50 to 70 dollars for a 28 dollar food order. I back out and go get it myself 😂
$18.95 food order was $24.01 for delivery.no dash pass
Wonder why your fees were so high?
My mom is retired and doesn't drive, she gets ssi and alimony shes bored as hell shes addicted to dd and amazon getting packages everyday its crazy
The way Mary yelled a that non driver is so me! Lol!
You both are so funny to watch
I don't care why they're ordering they're paying my rent 😂
Mary ripping on other drivers in my new all time fav.
I am addicted for sure from Ronny M
Got a verizon class action suit but it wanted my credit card number.
I tend to agree with Mary, that it's laziness. Last weekend, I went to CVS for one bottle of Aquafina water. I got paid $30 to deliver it 2.8 miles. Have to wonder what the heck that customer was thinking!
Bugs me… get the ice cream last.
i ordered doordash twice snow day
I order now and then .i dont drive due to vision reasons .
no i love shopping and do door dash orders
I think most have money to burn lol
Or can’t drive or leave the house
Great video. Lookin sharp with the new cut man. Mary pretty as usual too. You make a great point about how its an addiction that MAY have stemmed from the lockdowns/covid. Its like their subconsciously unknowingly permanently traumatized. Ive only been doing instacart for about 3-4 weeks now, but ive noticed theres like 4 categories of customers so to say.. generally speaking of course..
1 being the disabled / elderly who genuinelyneed the service (love getting those customers feels good)
2 teenage/ younger adult just being quintessentially lazy
3 the parent trying to save time /make family dinners (most common)
4 the super picky non gmo this non gluten that, theyll have comments on every item, trigger happy with low rating typa customer
❤❤❤
Maybe they dot have a kitchen your addition is picking nh up this sux order!!!!!!
✌️😎
Wooohoooo
Is he drunk....lol
1:39 why yall judging them. So he or she wanted a single item, who cares
Maybe they cant leave their home for mental or physical reasons. Leave them alone w/the judgments dang
Hi 👋😐 I have been E-bike Dashing for 2 months & DD suddenly deactivated me & can't give me a reason. They have 4 more Business days to give or get sued.
