1. On their website they say that its the work of two individuals. Its a business, not a hobby and they are working to support themselves. 2. What makes someone "qualified" to talk about ideas? I'd say that their other works and the fact thats its an educational RUclips channel gives them enoguh credibility? 3. Asking a basic question like that is a form of introduction to a topic they are discussing, just like writing a paper in school. Are they going to assume that everyone knows the answer to this "basic" question, especially if the whole point of the video is to educate people on the answer. It’s amazing when you find the heights of the intelligence hierarchy beyond the name calling foolishness at the bottom. Some people might take offense to the truth if there is a hierarchy of sorts. There is. If you notice some of the simplest lifestyle people can be the most enlightened and some of the richest in wealth can be depleted. It has nothing to do with wealth and poor. Don Antonio I definitely do. It has turned my view of hating people (in truth loving them) but my frustration to ignorant and society as a whole was the reason for that. Strange times we live in indeed but I am glad to not have that hate in my heart truly anymore.

Nickolas Gaspar I know Freud was a fraud scientist, would've been a great literature professor & that we only study his scam ass because he came up with the valuable idea of the unconscious & because he screwed over so many people yet gave psychology more visibility. I also know Jung was a student of Freud's.
@@eve36368 Well try taking an academic course in psychology. You will see that most of Freud's hypotheses have gain traction based on modern empirical discoveries. This is because Freud's ideas were speculations, but they were falsifiable (not all of course). Jung's ideas on archetypes are unfalsifiable. This is what separates the work of those two men. So I think that the label "fraud" is irrelevant when it comes to Freud.
My childhood friend was always a normal kid. His interests were sports, video games, and working out. When we were 18 we started using drugs. We frequently abused weed, coke, and adderall. His personality began to change. Then we did lsd. He loved it so much, that one night he took 6 tabs alone. He ended up stripping his clothes, and run into the streets shouting gibberish. He was arrested and diagnosed with schizophrenia and autism. During this time, he lived with me for 6 months. He was never an artsy person but all of a sudden he was really into music, drawing, and movies. He lost 50 lbs of muscle and was skinny. I was cleaning out his room when he moved out. He left a notebook. Inside were BEAUTIFUL artwork of religous symbolism that were dated back to our lsd days. Insane for a guy who never was into that stuff. Collective consciousness maybe?
No. He LOST consciousness. Earthly consciousness. He lost his grounding & connection to his mental body & gained greater access to the higher realms. Art & all that stuff exists in other realms- some people just have a higher propensity to access them like artists. This is why they end up consuming so much drugs. Drugs gives you greater access to those realms. I hope he’s ok now. Take him to a Shaman. His mental body needs to be reattached to his physical body & his soul blown back into his body. An entity has most likely has those parts & will not return it unless there is an intervention.

Jung is literally my overall opinion on the entire realm of the unknown. It's crazy how I really had these ideas when I was young, and I simply just lacked the words to describe what i felt dictates our perceived existence

Yes that quote might line up with some sort of Islamic version of this idea, but like Jung was saying; this way of thinking is already an archetype within the mind of us all. There are other names for it in many cultures / religions it doesn’t mean Islam is the sole truth.
@@c.s.70 That's a great point. I think that the solution to that paradox is that there are actually two different meanings of "know" in the original sentence. Let me try to explain (my view of the issue): We can call one "True knowledge" or just "knowledge", and the other "belief". Knowledge where one doesn't use thought in order to know. Thus, just to point that out, it becomes very difficult to talk about, so just try to bear with me. An example of this is the fact of existence. How do you know you exist? If you are going to find out whether you exist or not, do you depend on logical reasoning, or can you just sort of check? So in short, all direct, sensory experiences are knowledge. When you eat an orange, you "know" the taste of the orange. When you see a tree, you "know" the visual experience of "tree". The other kind of knowledge is based on thought. For example if I ask you your age, your name, the capital of Assyria, what you consider the best university in the UK, and so on. It is not really direct knowledge as described above, but sort of second-hand knowledge. None of these things you can really 100% "know". There could have been an error in the time of your birth certificate, for example. So in the latter case, what you really "know" is that you have a thought telling you something. Then you believe or don't believe that thought. So in that way, the latter case is actually a belief. In contrast, when you taste an orange, the experience of orange-taste is not a matter of belief. You "know" it, intimately. When you start to explore this, you might come to see that so much of what you believe to be true, i.e. what you think you know, actually is just belief, and that your reasons for believing them may be much weaker than you originally believed. You might also find that when looking at the world in this way, you start to see it more directly, not filtered through your beliefs and opinions about whatever you're interacting with. So the world becomes more and more a mysterious kind of unknowable "it is just what it is" experience, which it actually always was - it was just that we believed we knew what it is! Then you might start saying things like "True knowledge is not knowing".

I was apprehensive that it would be a version of what I consider a prevalent disease of postmodern relativism with the premise that nothing can be known nonsense disguised as ancient wisdom or interpreted as such. There are certain limitations and vagaries with language in communicating complex meanings that I struggle with, I crave for NDE like telepathic downloads (Highly recommend Overwatchproject youtube channel regarding nature of reality). This is a clear explanation of Jung's ideas, thank you. My thought about the archetypes is that the term is a bit confusing because it is used to describe two different things: the "organs" in the mind and the stories to which we respond. I would suggest that there's a kind of lock and key mechanism at play. The archetypical stories are the keys to the locks in our mind. The locks in our mind respond to the stories with something like satisfaction or interest, whereas we don't enjoy or get bored by stories that don't have the keys.
I love this man and his work just as much as the late great Carl Sagan. The aquisition of knowledge to help understand the workings behind our inner and outer universe. Mad love
Jung was, without a doubt, a genius with a brilliant mind. Listening to the exposé about the archetypes is not an easy task; it cannot absorbed (much less, applied) after one hearing; and is worth exploring, even for the sheer intellectual depth & challenge it presents. Thanks for the upload.
Jung poses really good arguments for astrology. I recommend researching about it, the cosmology and archetypes in astrology really inspire a lot of jung’s arguments

Some interesting points there, thanks. Major archetypes evidently break down into subcomponents, which isn't something I'd really articulated to myself before. The gods in polytheist cultures are archetypal and it's interesting to meditate upon their domains and how they interlink. It does feel a bit like untangling metaphysical spaghetti in the dark though.
If you haven't been to the depths of Mementos it will be hard to understand the Collective Unconscious. Seriously, this is gold made into a video. For those commenting on the lack of examples or concrete meaning as to the archetypes, I have an advice. Check out the major arcanas of the tarot cards, each one represents an archetype, though of course this is not based on Jung's theory and therefore major differences in the definition of this term can be found. Some "archetypes" are values (like Justice, Strength, Temperance), some are personal figures (like the Emperor, the Mother, the Self etc.), and some are highly symbolic events in life (like Death, or the major switch of intellectual perspective, or an initiation to a school of thought or religion etc.). Forget about the divination element, and keep an open mind while studying symbols. Also visually the cards are quite beautiful and very rich in symbols.
I read the book 'Jung and Tarot: The Archetypal Journey' and it's amazing! Also there's an oracle deck based on the archetype by Caroline Myss. Since Jung himself spoke a lot about symbolism, learning through the images has been helpful for me.
It was a revelation when I realised in my thirties how we dream of archetypal images. The divine child, anima/animus, the wise old man, the great mother, the shadow, etc, and how I've been dreaming of them all my life.
Not to offend outright, but as food for thought... Speak for yourself, Seamus. I'm a lucid dreamer, so I get to dream pretty much whatever I like and wherever I like... It hasn't been a difficult achievement to gain repetitive cognitive capacity at it, in my experience... BUT of course, I can only speak to my own experience. Symbols? Archetypal images... not so much... Most of the time, the cigar is still just a cigar. (in my dreams at least) ;o)

I think Archetypes can be explained by most of humanity having similar life experience with Cultural, Technological, and Economic variations. So when people deal with similar problems OR have similar Successes OR observe similar phenomenon in nature they have similar ideas.
That.. the fact that his study of mythos brought this about (archetypes) makes so much sense to me. I hope you help expand this with my limited life experience building on the works of others.
We know a lot about consciousness, we know nothing about how the unconscious connects with the self. Nor what it exactly is. That's why we cannot fix the damage that is done to a sick brain. Our science is obsessed with studying what can be seen and totally ignores studying forces structures and the unseen. We must learn that everything is connected with everything else. I think Mayan, hindu, ancient egyptian, and buddhist symbols and art styles are archetypal and buried somewhere within our collective unconscious. I've spent years in the deep end of psychedelic exploration, and from the very beginning I would see the symbols, art, and hieroglyphics of those ancient cultures whenever I would trip hard enough to fully dissociate from reality. Sure, the argument could be put forward that merely being made manifest in my hallucinations isn't necessarily indicative of me tapping into some collective unconscious, wherein these images reside. Rather, the counter argument suggests that my mind produced said images, because they were already producible within my memory, given my previous awareness of them. My rebuttal to that then is this: Having made the observation and acknowledged that while yes, I was able to recognize some for what the were because of my prior familiarity, other images, unknown in origin, accompanied their more recognizable companions. Some I would not recognize as such until much later, when I would happen across something I saw in a trip while reading or watching a documentary. I'm not alone either, I know a lot of psychonauts who have seen the symbology too, as well as the same kind of unknown symbology, whose meaning and origin were discovered only after the fact. In a Chicken or the Egg-like scenario, these images seem to produce themselves deep within our collective unconscious, without any attached definition or meaning giving any hint as to their purpose. They're simply there, waiting to be conjured up in the mind of the individual able to dive deep enough into their psyche to see them.
With relation to the very last quote, I came across some verses from the Quran which talks about bringing a person out of darkness towards light. And in relation to the Quran, there's a strange thing that came to my notice. It responds to an increased consciousness in a way no book ever did to me in the course of a natural or acquired mental growth over time. It almost felt like the activation of parts of a comprehending disk lying deep inside the realm of previously inaccessible unconsciousness; and those activated parts have now moved on and 'pressed upward' to adjust with as well as expand i.e. update the level of consciousness.
OMG the implication of Jung's description for me is EPIC .I am connecting and unraveling meaning in symbols and word formulations that is key to my effectiveness to have any degree of success going as a poet and an artist!
OpinionDay007 Father, mother, child, old man, anima (woman in man), animus (man in woman), shadow, trickster, self, gate keeper, Oracle, and of course hero. There are also archetypal images like cross, equals, swirl (swastika forwards and reverse), dot, arrow, circle, triangle, etc. And archetypal sounds. Think of the coolest grooviest blues beats or jazz or swing. Think of the tunes and rhythms that reach down inside of you and pull out the caveman/woman knowing that people across the world and throughout time have the same experience you have. Think Bo Diddly and the west African beats he discovered and put into his own music. THAT’S archetypal! These are not the only examples. Many others. It’s a viable subject for research. For instance, I would submit the sword and the gun as archetypal symbols. See Star Wars (light saber) and The Dark Tower (gun as protector) for examples.
One example would be the young hero who must battle a monster, descend into the underworld, and eventually sacrifice himself to the greater good: Gilgamesh, Siegfried, and Beowulf, so distant in time and space, are perfect symbols. The dragon and the treasure he guards, and the Wise Old Man and Wise Old Woman, who explain the world and guide us, are others.
I love Carl Jung as I learn more. Mr Jung did not make elaborate effort to conceal, but what should be obvious is, that this work is acquired through channeling (through angels or demons). That said, almost ALL scientists engage with higher dimensional entities. It saddens me: a) that our society has taboos talking about occult knowledge, b) we need to tear down these barriers and be transparent about last 500 some years, c) modern science that goes at elaborate lengths, hiding such links (its roots), all too focused on "actively creating" societal divisions to further its economy of scales i.e. monetizational goals, really really needs to be taken to task. d) if we can award a nobel prize to Einstein, I say please award 5000 nobel prizes to Mr Jung. And 1 billion nobels to Mr Tesla. e) and why am I the only person saying this?

We as humans have a call as explorers of the unconscious for it is as vast as the universe itself, we contain within ourselves the symbols and representations of the whole universe, archetypes are a language that convey the meaning of the unfathomable. The universe, the source or "God", call it whatever you want is not governed by the same logical structures as our conscious mind is, neither our unconscious mind; things such as time, space, morals, good or bad. Let's use our logic and concepts not to mutilate our understanding of the whole but as Neumann said to try to "connect the dots", the symbols that surround the things that are too big for our mind and language to convey, but are still so fundamental for our development as individuals and as a collective.
you need to elevate your standards of evidence....A random claim in a video about a discredited philosophical interpretation of a psychologist should never be accepted as knowledge. You should first investigate why this is not accepted as a scientific framework and then declare it as "knowledge", if it does qualify as such. Knowledge are claims which we can act upon and produce further knowledge....I am sure that a magical explanation like this doesn't meet this role.

Wow! This is incredible and is my story in the last year when in a moment I opened my eyes and started changing my beliefs in so many ways. As a staunch atheist to seeing reality in symbols. I see the whole world when seen this way is more holistic and it holds a higher meaning that we are unconscious of. And yes, our purpose is to bring light into this collective unconscious we seem to come from and interact with. Its all there as either information that needs manifestation through expansion of consciousness.
The archetypes are basically different levels of consciousness which everyone goes through, at least to some degree, during their lifetime. The first archetype is mercury, or the innocent child. His symbol is an arrow. The second is venus, the maiden. Her symbol is a nabla. Next Luna, the rebellious teenager. Her symbol is a crescent. After that is terra, the mother. Her symbol is a leaf, or a droplet. Next there's mars, or the warrior. His symbol is a spade. Then there's Minerva, the queen. Her symbol is a heart. Next is Jupiter, or the lover. His symbol is a cross. Next is Saturn, the storyteller. His symbol is a triangle. Next is caelus, the thinker. His symbol is an eye. After that there's Neptune, the leader. His symbol is a crown. Next there's triton, the helper. His symbol is a star. Then there's Pluto, the enigma. Her symbol is an infinity symbol. And finally, there's Nox and Sol, or the crone and the father. Nox is symbolised by a circle and sol is symbolised by a diamond. P.s. I used the Roman gods because people are more familiar with them than gods from other cultures, but literally every culture I've ever studied has all of these gods/archetypes just under different names. All of these archetypes exist within everyone and you can even channel their consciousness through meditation, yoga and the arts.
Like Jung said, archetypes are similar to physical organs, but they can not be observed physically like our organs. They can only be observed through our similar correlated use of signs of symbolism.

I know this is an older video and may not get a reply, but in regards to the end where Jung states that we should endeavor to expand our conscious mind, could it be argued that a ‘super intelligent mind’ is one that has expanded its consciousness to encompass 80% of the mind or more, rather than 20 or 30? @swarnajit tongbram I think the title track "Boy with Luv" is just a catchy song to get people hooked to the album. The other songs in the album like Jamais Vu and Mikrokosmos have a very deep meaning to them. The into to the album, Persona, draws directly from Jung's theory. The album is a part of a series called Map of Soul so I guess the next albums will be Shadow and Ego.

This is so strange for I remember when I used to draw mandalas, despite me not being Christian, that I would always have images of Jesus at the focal point of the mandala and the rest of the patterns surrounding it being the universe
Very young children already know the world, but they don't speak the language. In learning the language, they are forced to relearn everything they already knew. I know this because I have a memory of me at about 3yo purposly hurting a younger baby to observe how it made me feel. When the baby responded by crying, I worried that if I continued this behavior and enjoyed it, i may grow up to be an evil person or even a serial killer. I did not have words for any of these things yet knew exactly what it all was. I contemplated how it made me feel and noticed I had a hard time relating to the baby. Luckily, I later began to empathize with others deeply, but at the time, I was very concerned but could not communicate any of this in human language.
Frankly, I think the basis of inherited knowledge and cultural consciousness has some validity, but after reading I felt how Jung and his students separate the psyche of women and the indigenous into lower or separate categories seemed lacking. I feel like the theory of the anima is all well and good, but the way Jungian theory seems to separate women and indigenous ("bush") psyches as less complete or developed leaves me unconvinced of the soundness of his theory as written. I think some of Jungian theory is overly gendered and a little ethnocentric, but at the core I think there is a lot of value in the observation of our connection to ancient symbols and archetypes, and I see truth in that.
My task is to become conscious of the contents that press upward from the unconscious. The sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness by mere being.
My mother was only in my life for the first 2 years of my life. She came back around in my twenties and to my surprise, we were a lot alike. Our thought processes, awkward movements, and even our shadows seem to parallel each other.

@@eve36368 Well try taking an academic course in psychology. You will see that most of Freud's hypotheses have gain traction based on modern empirical discoveries. This is because Freud's ideas were speculations, but they were falsifiable (not all of course). Jung's ideas on archetypes are unfalsifiable.
This is what separates the work of those two men.
So I think that the label "fraud" is irrelevant when it comes to Freud.
My childhood friend was always a normal kid. His interests were sports, video games, and working out. When we were 18 we started using drugs. We frequently abused weed, coke, and adderall. His personality began to change. Then we did lsd. He loved it so much, that one night he took 6 tabs alone. He ended up stripping his clothes, and run into the streets shouting gibberish. He was arrested and diagnosed with schizophrenia and autism.
During this time, he lived with me for 6 months. He was never an artsy person but all of a sudden he was really into music, drawing, and movies. He lost 50 lbs of muscle and was skinny. I was cleaning out his room when he moved out. He left a notebook. Inside were BEAUTIFUL artwork of religous symbolism that were dated back to our lsd days. Insane for a guy who never was into that stuff. Collective consciousness maybe?
No. He LOST consciousness. Earthly consciousness. He lost his grounding & connection to his mental body & gained greater access to the higher realms. Art & all that stuff exists in other realms- some people just have a higher propensity to access them like artists. This is why they end up consuming so much drugs. Drugs gives you greater access to those realms. I hope he’s ok now. Take him to a Shaman. His mental body needs to be reattached to his physical body & his soul blown back into his body. An entity has most likely has those parts & will not return it unless there is an intervention.

I think that the solution to that paradox is that there are actually two different meanings of "know" in the original sentence. Let me try to explain (my view of the issue):
We can call one "True knowledge" or just "knowledge", and the other "belief".
Knowledge where one doesn't use thought in order to know. Thus, just to point that out, it becomes very difficult to talk about, so just try to bear with me. An example of this is the fact of existence. How do you know you exist? If you are going to find out whether you exist or not, do you depend on logical reasoning, or can you just sort of check?
So in short, all direct, sensory experiences are knowledge. When you eat an orange, you "know" the taste of the orange. When you see a tree, you "know" the visual experience of "tree".
The other kind of knowledge is based on thought. For example if I ask you your age, your name, the capital of Assyria, what you consider the best university in the UK, and so on. It is not really direct knowledge as described above, but sort of second-hand knowledge. None of these things you can really 100% "know". There could have been an error in the time of your birth certificate, for example.
So in the latter case, what you really "know" is that you have a thought telling you something. Then you believe or don't believe that thought. So in that way, the latter case is actually a belief. In contrast, when you taste an orange, the experience of orange-taste is not a matter of belief. You "know" it, intimately.
When you start to explore this, you might come to see that so much of what you believe to be true, i.e. what you think you know, actually is just belief, and that your reasons for believing them may be much weaker than you originally believed. You might also find that when looking at the world in this way, you start to see it more directly, not filtered through your beliefs and opinions about whatever you're interacting with. So the world becomes more and more a mysterious kind of unknowable "it is just what it is" experience, which it actually always was - it was just that we believed we knew what it is!
Then you might start saying things like "True knowledge is not knowing".

My thought about the archetypes is that the term is a bit confusing because it is used to describe two different things: the "organs" in the mind and the stories to which we respond. I would suggest that there's a kind of lock and key mechanism at play. The archetypical stories are the keys to the locks in our mind. The locks in our mind respond to the stories with something like satisfaction or interest, whereas we don't enjoy or get bored by stories that don't have the keys.

This stuff is deep and wide, and worth every minute of a first, second and third look.
Some interesting points there, thanks. Major archetypes evidently break down into subcomponents, which isn't something I'd really articulated to myself before. The gods in polytheist cultures are archetypal and it's interesting to meditate upon their domains and how they interlink. It does feel a bit like untangling metaphysical spaghetti in the dark though.
If you haven't been to the depths of Mementos it will be hard to understand the Collective Unconscious.
Seriously, this is gold made into a video. For those commenting on the lack of examples or concrete meaning as to the archetypes, I have an advice. Check out the major arcanas of the tarot cards, each one represents an archetype, though of course this is not based on Jung's theory and therefore major differences in the definition of this term can be found.
Some "archetypes" are values (like Justice, Strength, Temperance), some are personal figures (like the Emperor, the Mother, the Self etc.), and some are highly symbolic events in life (like Death, or the major switch of intellectual perspective, or an initiation to a school of thought or religion etc.). Forget about the divination element, and keep an open mind while studying symbols. Also visually the cards are quite beautiful and very rich in symbols.

What do you mean by "their mandala"?
I think Mayan, hindu, ancient egyptian, and buddhist symbols and art styles are archetypal and buried somewhere within our collective unconscious. I've spent years in the deep end of psychedelic exploration, and from the very beginning I would see the symbols, art, and hieroglyphics of those ancient cultures whenever I would trip hard enough to fully dissociate from reality.
Sure, the argument could be put forward that merely being made manifest in my hallucinations isn't necessarily indicative of me tapping into some collective unconscious, wherein these images reside. Rather, the counter argument suggests that my mind produced said images, because they were already producible within my memory, given my previous awareness of them.
My rebuttal to that then is this: Having made the observation and acknowledged that while yes, I was able to recognize some for what the were because of my prior familiarity, other images, unknown in origin, accompanied their more recognizable companions. Some I would not recognize as such until much later, when I would happen across something I saw in a trip while reading or watching a documentary.
I'm not alone either, I know a lot of psychonauts who have seen the symbology too, as well as the same kind of unknown symbology, whose meaning and origin were discovered only after the fact. In a Chicken or the Egg-like scenario, these images seem to produce themselves deep within our collective unconscious, without any attached definition or meaning giving any hint as to their purpose. They're simply there, waiting to be conjured up in the mind of the individual able to dive deep enough into their psyche to see them.
With relation to the very last quote, I came across some verses from the Quran which talks about bringing a person out of darkness towards light. And in relation to the Quran, there's a strange thing that came to my notice. It responds to an increased consciousness in a way no book ever did to me in the course of a natural or acquired mental growth over time. It almost felt like the activation of parts of a comprehending disk lying deep inside the realm of previously inaccessible unconsciousness; and those activated parts have now moved on and 'pressed upward' to adjust with as well as expand i.e. update the level of consciousness.
OMG the implication of Jung's description for me is EPIC .I am connecting and unraveling meaning in symbols and word formulations that is key to my effectiveness to have any degree of success going as a poet and an artist!

Father, mother, child, old man, anima (woman in man), animus (man in woman), shadow, trickster, self, gate keeper, Oracle, and of course hero.
There are also archetypal images like cross, equals, swirl (swastika forwards and reverse), dot, arrow, circle, triangle, etc.
And archetypal sounds. Think of the coolest grooviest blues beats or jazz or swing. Think of the tunes and rhythms that reach down inside of you and pull out the caveman/woman knowing that people across the world and throughout time have the same experience you have. Think Bo Diddly and the west African beats he discovered and put into his own music. THAT’S archetypal!
These are not the only examples. Many others. It’s a viable subject for research. For instance, I would submit the sword and the gun as archetypal symbols. See Star Wars (light saber) and The Dark Tower (gun as protector) for examples.
One example would be the young hero who must battle a monster, descend into the underworld, and eventually sacrifice himself to the greater good: Gilgamesh, Siegfried, and Beowulf, so distant in time and space, are perfect symbols. The dragon and the treasure he guards, and the Wise Old Man and Wise Old Woman, who explain the world and guide us, are others.

I love Carl Jung as I learn more. Mr Jung did not make elaborate effort to conceal, but what should be obvious is, that this work is acquired through channeling (through angels or demons). That said, almost ALL scientists engage with higher dimensional entities. It saddens me: a) that our society has taboos talking about occult knowledge, b) we need to tear down these barriers and be transparent about last 500 some years, c) modern science that goes at elaborate lengths, hiding such links (its roots), all too focused on "actively creating" societal divisions to further its economy of scales i.e. monetizational goals, really really needs to be taken to task. d) if we can award a nobel prize to Einstein, I say please award 5000 nobel prizes to Mr Jung. We as humans have a call as explorers of the unconscious for it is as vast as the universe itself, we contain within ourselves the symbols and representations of the whole universe, archetypes are a language that convey the meaning of the unfathomable. The universe, the source or "God", call it whatever you want is not governed by the same logical structures as our conscious mind is, neither our unconscious mind; things such as time, space, morals, good or bad. Let's use our logic and concepts not to mutilate our understanding of the whole but as Neumann said to try to "connect the dots", the symbols that surround the things that are too big for our mind and language to convey, but are still so fundamental for our development as individuals and as a collective.

you need to elevate your standards of evidence....A random claim in a video about a discredited philosophical interpretation of a psychologist should never be accepted as knowledge.
You should first investigate why this is not accepted as a scientific framework and then declare it as "knowledge", if it does qualify as such.
Knowledge are claims which we can act upon and produce further knowledge....I am sure that a magical explanation like this doesn't meet this role.

Wow! This is incredible and is my story in the last year when in a moment I opened my eyes and started changing my beliefs in so many ways. As a staunch atheist to seeing reality in symbols. I see the whole world when seen this way is more holistic and it holds a higher meaning that we are unconscious of. And yes, our purpose is to bring light into this collective unconscious we seem to come from and interact with. Its all there as either information that needs manifestation through expansion of consciousness.

You could just as well say that God is the ultimate archetype. However, as the video states, metaphysical questions are unanswerable.

The archetypes are basically different levels of consciousness which everyone goes through, at least to some degree, during their lifetime.
The first archetype is mercury, or the innocent child. His symbol is an arrow.
The second is venus, the maiden. Her symbol is a nabla.
Next Luna, the rebellious teenager. Her symbol is a crescent.
After that is terra, the mother. Her symbol is a leaf, or a droplet.
Next there's mars, or the warrior. His symbol is a spade.
Then there's Minerva, the queen. Her symbol is a heart.
Next is Jupiter, or the lover. His symbol is a cross.
Next is Saturn, the storyteller. His symbol is a triangle.
Next is caelus, the thinker. His symbol is an eye.
After that there's Neptune, the leader. His symbol is a crown.
Next there's triton, the helper. His symbol is a star.
Then there's Pluto, the enigma. Her symbol is an infinity symbol.
And finally, there's Nox and Sol, or the crone and the father. Nox is symbolised by a circle and sol is symbolised by a diamond.
P.s. I used the Roman gods because people are more familiar with them than gods from other cultures, but literally every culture I've ever studied has all of these gods/archetypes just under different names. All of these archetypes exist within everyone and you can even channel their consciousness through meditation, yoga and the arts.

There was not very much mentioned on the actual archetypes and examples given.
Jung himself doesn't clearly define what they are. He just proposed that there are archetypes based on his observations.
Like Jung said, archetypes are similar to physical organs, but they can not be observed physically like our organs. They can only be observed through our similar correlated use of signs of symbolism.
We cannot observe the archetypes directs. Perhaps this means we cannot become conscious of these. Yet again, maybe we can?
Because its not an accepted concept and Analytical psychology is not part of modern Psychology. Is in the realm of Pseudo claims.

Genetic memory is a real thing. Why do almost all kids get scared of long dark hallways? Or just the dark in general? Why do they like to sleep next to their parents?
DNA has memory. Therefore there are heritable traits and parents psyche and biology is inherited by their children. Reference " the gene" and " Emperor of all maladies" by Siddhartha Mukherjee

DNA retains information, its not memory, its triggered information. Something has to trigger your memory so you remember who you really are. We are all one. Dont forget again.

I know this is an older video and may not get a reply, but in regards to the end where Jung states that we should endeavor to expand our conscious mind, could it be argued that a ‘super intelligent mind’ is one that has expanded its consciousness to encompass 80% of the mind or more, rather than 20 or 30? One of the many reasons I love psychology! Thanks for the video!

@swarnajit tongbram I think the title track "Boy with Luv" is just a catchy song to get people hooked to the album. The other songs in the album like Jamais Vu and Mikrokosmos have a very deep meaning to them. The into to the album, Persona, draws directly from Jung's theory. The album is a part of a series called Map of Soul so I guess the next albums will be Shadow and Ego.

This is so strange for I remember when I used to draw mandalas, despite me not being Christian, that I would always have images of Jesus at the focal point of the mandala and the rest of the patterns surrounding it being the universe
Very young children already know the world, but they don't speak the language. In learning the language, they are forced to relearn everything they already knew. I know this because I have a memory of me at about 3yo purposly hurting a younger baby to observe how it made me feel. When the baby responded by crying, I worried that if I continued this behavior and enjoyed it, i may grow up to be an evil person or even a serial killer. I did not have words for any of these things yet knew exactly what it all was. I contemplated how it made me feel and noticed I had a hard time relating to the baby. Luckily, I later began to empathize with others deeply, but at the time, I was very concerned but could not communicate any of this in human language.
Frankly, I think the basis of inherited knowledge and cultural consciousness has some validity, but after reading I felt how Jung and his students separate the psyche of women and the indigenous into lower or separate categories seemed lacking. I feel like the theory of the anima is all well and good, but the way Jungian theory seems to separate women and indigenous ("bush") psyches as less complete or developed leaves me unconvinced of the soundness of his theory as written. I think some of Jungian theory is overly gendered and a little ethnocentric, but at the core I think there is a lot of value in the observation of our connection to ancient symbols and archetypes, and I see truth in that.

My mother was only in my life for the first 2 years of my life. She came back around in my twenties and to my surprise, we were a lot alike. Our thought processes, awkward movements, and even our shadows seem to parallel each other.

What he was Trying say was that if look at the History of Religion you can see that Common Ideas and images reoccur and in most Religions God is Personified in a form that occurs in the Human Environment ,he supposing that it's the Structure of the Unconscious Mind that contributes to this,The Ancients where not trying to send us any message other than the interpretation of theirs God, Basically the Fact that Common Ideas and Images reoccur in Religion thousands of years apart lends credence to the idea our brains are somewhat predesposed to Believe a God/Spiritual other,But this not necessarily Proof of a God
