It is all servo's the red tubing has cable running through it so the servo's in the torso can run the fingers. Pretty cool good job

Servos-the red tubes hold bicycle brake-like wiring that runs to the finger to control them.

Amazing work! I wanted to ask, to program and record the movements and the show, did you use a software like trakskull and vsa and a joystick or did you use a manual recording device for servos?

Thank you! This show was made using only Visual Show Automation and a joystick, no recording... (It took several weeks) However, I did create my own servo controller using an Arduino and implemented real-time recording using the potentiometers in the servos themselves (disassembled each servo and added a fourth wire) after this. If you scroll down to "Project Systems" on adamkehl.com/portfolio/animatronic-ai/ it shows all the systems used in the final IBM-powered version.

Amazing how much do they cost to make and are they complicated to make.
An error Occurred The biggest costs are the servos and depending on your build and weight of the structure each motor moves, determines how big/strong a servo you need. Stronger = more expensive. Design the whole animatronic using plastic 3D printed parts and the servos would be the biggest cost. $10-20 per servo on the head, an SS32 servo controller ($18) and that's mostly it. Sam cost around $1500 but has machined aluminum and many small parts from McMaster-Carr which could be easily minimized and removed with a different design.
