Michael. I think 🤔 that protesting is definitely the answer to exposing this CULT or any high controlled groups. PROTESTING is the action that is definitely needed to get the general public and governments to really understand what these dangerous cultures are doing to their members in an abusive way. Thanks for your diversity 👍 in your activism. I hope you do it again.
Diversity is the answer. Well, there is no real answer, no real one and only way to do this, and I don't think the cult ever goes away. But I do think we need diversity in the messaging, methods, etc. of our activism because humans are complex and you never know what message or voice will impact another in a positive way. I'll likely do this again. In fact, I had another idea that I took with me for this protest, but once I saw how they handled me I knew that they'd be able to take care of what I was wanting to do with my other method. I will have a video coming out soon discussing something else I built that is out there that active JWs are actually interacting with. Thanks for the kind words! :)
@shunnedpodcast Can't wait to see what you have to share. I actually truly believe the organization is at its brink of folding and will eventually be non-existent. Time will tell, though. Meanwhile, we all just continue to move forward and live our best lives & try to create our own happiness 😊.
HOLD UP! Your wife is like In a circus, and this is the first I(/we?) hear of it? That's so cool. XD I can hardly stand on one leg doing yoga, haha. On a more serious note, your protest was so powerful... I found myself getting so pissed when I saw those angry head shakes, 'cause it's just so heartless and frankly disgusting behaviour that they're being taught.
Haha, I'm sure I've mentioned it before on here at some point. I like to tell people that I left a cult and my wife ran off and joined the circus. Those that know me on Facebook know what's up, but I guess most of my podcasts are interviews of others, not so much me at this point, although some would complain that I talk too much about me. My wife is supportive of what I do, but not really interested in being "in" the ExJW community. So what I've said or haven't said is kind of hard to remember. She always wanted to perform, whether in plays or something else, as a JW, and now she gets to fly through the air, be a clown, dress up in her 8 foot tall inflatable squid to entertain people, etc. There's a lot of life to be lived outside of the cult. Oh, had you been present, or had I released all of the video that I took, you'd have seen even more heads shaking. They are who they are.
I have come to believe that one of the biggest things preventing people from coming out of the org is the lack of empathy that the org instills. For some, it would be easy to say that if they have no empathy, they are expendable. But a huge issue is for those who are on the high functioning autism spectrum. They are often good & beautiful people, but between the instilled lack of empathy & their innate difficulty with empathy & need of being told what to do, its really tragic that they are unable to see that they are in a destructive cult. Its heartbreaking 💔 to see.
Bring your food, sit and enjoy fellowship with your brothers and sisters at your seats, and then go out into the common areas but keep it moving and don't crowd areas while you see others. Sisters, don't forget to be quick to use the restroom and then move on, we know how you women are and we don't want to have to put brown paper over the mirrors again to keep you moving. Be sure that you're in your seats for the musical interlude or whatever they call it before the next session begins so that you can feel the culty energy wash over you before the brainwashing begins.
It means Physically In Mentally Out. It's kinda the state where you technically are still a witness(not disfellowshipped or disassociated), but mentally your either over it/no longer believe or are deconstructing your beliefs/former beliefs.
Thanks. The name and artist of the song is in the show notes if you want to go hear the whole song. CZ3R0C answered your question, but I'll throw in a few other terms you'll see that are related: PIMI - A physically in, mentally in JW POMI - Physically out but mentally in, a horrible place that many are in where they still believe it's the truth but that they can't live up to it because they're somehow defective POMO - Physically out, mentally out, a great place to be PIMQ - Physically in but mentally questioning - still playing the JW game but open to other ideas, including that the JWs may not have "The Truth" I may be forgetting something, but that's what you will often see referenced.
@@shunnedpodcast thank you, sadly this list of acronyms reminds me of the four (five?) Stages of Grief. You start with one and hopefully end in grace at POMO/Acceptance. But far too many end up stuck POMI- and return like my 2 brothers did, or they do a final checkout. I believe this was partially the cause of my husband's su.ic.ide. Still, I have no pull to return. I am completely at peace with my decision, and find the whole belief a sad, willfully ignorant ideology to follow.🙏🏼
@@cathrinewhite7629 First, I'm sorry for you loss. I spoke about my own ideation in my first podcast This JW Life, which is still out there. The hallmarks of grief are all over everything to do with Jehovah's Witnesses. I'm sorry that you've experienced it in these ways. Unfortunately we as humans are easy to trick, easy to manipulate, to coerce, and to destroy internally. Many of us come from family systems that leave us vulnerable in certain ways to self-destructive addictions, whether those addictions are to substances, people, ideologies, etc. JWs are no different, caught up in an addiction that has them in myriad ways and that can cost them their lives, their families, etc. Ultimately for those of us that made it out, we have to work to heal after leaving because we came from something so destructive.
@@shunnedpodcast Thank you for your lovely, thoughful reply!🙏🏼😊 You know, it's made me think about my own (failed) attempt at ending my life. I have always had these subtle, self destructive tendencies my _entire_ life. But I went into a real spin seven years ago. I pretty much had emotionally fallen apart from my self destructive stress responses. I realize now that all jw kids are raised as incapable to cope with the real world. We are programmed to self destruct if we leave the religion. When I realized how every child is planted with this response, I was horrified! Your reply shows that you also had to fight this programming😔. May we all eventually heal from this terrible use of misplaced authority🙏🏼.
Thanks for the kind words. Yes. I believe I referenced in this video that my mom, younger brother and his wife, and younger sister and her husband children that I've never met, were at this very convention. My father died about 6 months after I disassociated from the cult, but I was shunned before then. I have one brother that was disfellowshipped probably 12ish years before my wife and I left the cult. He and I have a relationship today. This JW Life, my first podcast that is still out there on podcast apps (it was on here until I believe Watchtower had it taken down), is my personal story if you are interested.
Well done!
Love your approach & your attitude! I know of at least one person awaken by a protester at a convention!

Remember how we were strictly instructed not to leave the convention premises during the lunch break? JWs take micro-managing to a whole new level!

Would they crowd you at all if you wear a t-shirt with the word "APOSTATE" written on it? 😅😅Just wondering.
@@tedlee594 That's funny! I bet they would order the sisters to "cover your eyes!!'🤪
I like your intro song!🙏🏼
But..what's a "pimo"? I've been out for 25+ years so new lingo eludes me lol😅.
